IPhone 8 VS Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro In 2020! Cameras, Hardware & Specs

What is up guys today we're going to be comparing the note 8 pro to the iPhone 8. So let's go ahead and get started. The note 8 pro right now for around 2 15 2 30 on Amazon links will be down below the iPhone.8 is going for close to 300 bucks, usually kind of bounces up and down, but I've seen it as cheap as 280. Again, I will put those links down below also two very awesome: phones, uh. So for the hardware uh, you have a gorilla glass design on the note8 pro, and it's definitely a heavy phone um. It's not a glass and metal phone, or it's not a metal foam, because the railing is a plastic, but it is a very nice premium feeling phone one of my favorite designs on any smartphone right now.

It's just very elegant, looking especially uh this color, this pearl white color, the iPhones uh. I like the design on here. It's got a know, aluminum design, a glass back, and it actually has a pretty decent weight to it as well. Um. This phone does look pretty decent from the back.

It's just when you get to the front and definitely shows uh its age with the big bezels and stuff like that, but apple even released the se2 with the same design. So I guess people aren't really bothered by it, but as far as build quality, they both feel super solid in the hand, so very, very nice. On that end, now the displays are two of the most uh noticeable differences with both of these phones. So you have an IPS LCD on the note8 pro. It's a 6.5 inch display 1080p display 395 for the PPI. It gets pretty bright, and it's a very vibrant display.

Really nice quality. You have the little water drop notch on here as well and overall I just really love the display. It's a massive display compared to the iPhone's 4.7 inch display, as you can see it just dwarfs it. It is also an IPS lcd, but the iPhone is a lower resolution at uh, 720p plus display 326 for the PPI uh. What you'll notice is that the iPhone's display does get slightly a bit brighter than the note 8 pro at 625 nits versus the 500 nits on the note 8 pro, so you will notice that, but overall, I'm going with the note 8 pro uh display here.

It's just uh. You know high resolution. It just looks better with the thinner bezels, with the wider drop notch and uh. You know on the iPhone. It definitely again shows its age, especially just with these huge bezels.

But again the display is not bad at all. The 720p isn't really a huge deal because of how small the display is. But you know a pros display is just much better unless you just want a more compact phone, as you can see like I said, the iPhone is just kind of like a dwarf compared to you know a pro, so both of these phones run the latest versions of their operating system. Uh. You have android 10 on the note 8 pro with mini 11 and on the iPhone you can run the latest version of iOS, iOS 13.3, and so as far as software, if you're not completely sold on FaceTime and iMessage, you do have a lot of cool features on the note8 pro. You have the second space.

Furthermore, you have a lot of customization options to be able to make the phone uh look and feel how you want it to feel and uh. If you're into you know all the Google apps and stuff like that that'll be very beneficial. Google now is really awesome, uh to have uh, but that is more of a personal preference. So that's really up to you. It depends on you know what you're into now.

Let's go ahead and talk about the CPU, so you have the hello g90t on the note 8 pro with the Mali g76 GPU and on the iPhone you have the apple 11 chips, so the a11 chip is uh to me a bit faster than the hello g90t. So this chip has aged just uh, very well, uh. Now um, you know it's not a huge difference when you're launching just regular applications, but in games and stuff like that, you will notice the significant uh speed increase. Now don't be fooled. The g90t is a great processor, it's very fast, so both of these phones are fast uh.

You also have micro, SD support on the note 8 pro with 64 gigs of storage and 6 gigs of ram on the iPhone. You have no expandable storage, but you have 64 gigs of storage and 2 gigs of ram. Now I know you're saying that's low ram, but iOS is so well optimized that you're not going to notice a real difference with multitasking and stuff like that, especially with speed you're, just not going to notice this phone lagging all over the place, it's actually pretty good at multitasking and speed and uh same for the note8 pro. Now I do like that. You have expandable storage on the note8 pro.

I think that's really awesome to have now. Both of these phones have NFC for mobile payments, so you're not missing out on that uh. The no April does lag an IP rating. The iPhone does have an IP rating, so you can get it wet uh, which is something that I really like uh. Also, you have an infrared port on the note 8 pro, which nobody talks about.

So, if you're really into that, you can control your TV with this phone or air conditioner or whatever. So that is really a handy feature as well. You have a fingerprint scanner, a physical one, on both the no a pro on the back iPhone on the front uh they're, both very fast. You know, a pro is slightly faster because you just don't have that animation that the iPhone does also get into your phone is just much faster on the note8 pro uh. So let's go ahead and talk about the camera, so you have a quiet camera set up on the note8 pro 64 megapixel wide 8 megapixel ultra-wide.

You have a 2 megapixel macro camera for it, those really close up shots and a 2 megapixel depth sensor, 4k video recording at 30 fps and a 20 megapixel selfie camera on the iPhone. You have one 12 megapixel sensor. It actually is using 4k, 2430 or 60fps, which is really awesome. You also have a 7 megapixel selfie camera. So as far as the quality, I was leaning more towards the note 8 pro, especially in terms of color accuracy and detail, and in addition to that you just have more cameras.

You have the ultra-wide the macro and the depth sensor, so it definitely beats the iPhone here, as you can see from these shots. So the iPhone's camera is not bad by any means. It's a perfect camera, but, like I said, if I'm really into cameras, I would go with the no a pro just for the additional lenses as well uh. As far as video the iPhone really blows. The note 8 pro out of the water to me just more natural, looking video it just looks overall better.

I really love a video on iPhone. In particular. Another thing I wanted to mention was the speaker, so you do have stereo speakers on the iPhone. You have just one single firing speaker on the note 8 pro and on the iPhone. The speakers are slightly just a bit more clear, but I wouldn't say massively louder than you know a pro speaker uh.

If that makes sense, so you just get a slightly better quality with the iPhone speaker, but it's not much louder than now a pro, and you know a pro speaker is definitely acceptable. It's fine uh! So let's go ahead and talk about battery life, so this is a huge difference with both of these phones. So only now a pro, you have a 4 500 William battery with 18 watt, fast charging, uh you're, looking at around eight hours of screen on time and on the iPhone you have a 1821 William battery with 15 watt fast charging, so charge is slightly slower, but you have wireless charging as well. So I always love wireless charging very convenient now on the iPhone you're looking at around six hours of screen on time, which is fine for a day. It's not bad, but you are getting significantly better battery life on the note 8 pro.

So thanks for watching this video- and I will catch you guys in the next one.
