Google Pixel 3a VS Pixel 2 Comparison (Physical Features) By Candid Tech TV

Hey there guys so Tim here from Canada tech TV. Today we are checking out the differences here in the physical features of the pixel 2 versus the new Pixel 3a. So I was an early adopter of the pixel ? I, actually pre-ordered that on launch day, when they first announced the phone, and I've been using the pixel 2. Since we are looking at a new phone for my fianc?, the Pixel 3a, just came out seems like a great phone I. Had my experience with the pixel 2, and I love the camera quality, one of the big things that her is definitely camera quality. So we decided to try out this Pixel 3a.

So that's what today's video is going to be about. I'm going to show you a little of the size comparison. The physical features are a little different, and we'll kind of go over the design a little as well. So starting off with this Pixel 3a, like I, said this is the 3a? Not the Excel model same thing with my pixel ?, this pixel ? is the pixel ?, not 2xl. You've got a few different color options.

This is the purplish option, there's also Connie or like black and your white models as well for the 3a, but we went with the purplish, so color wise us what we got here when I got my pixel ?, initially I went with the just black color, so it's kind of just that two-tone black look, looks pretty cool but I kind of the matte on the bottom and then the low gloss on the top. You can kind of see there in the light same thing with the Pixel 3a. It's got kind of more of the matte on the bottom and then a little of a gloss on the top. So definitely one of the main things that, when I'm talking about the gloss on top and kind of more matte on the bottom, this pixel ? does have more of like an aluminum finish so on here. This is more aluminum.

It's definitely different build quality. It's got the gloss con up here. This is I, believe glass, more up top, but then yeah you've got down here kind of that matte kind of aluminum brush on the Pixel 3a. This is more plastic. So kind of hear the difference almost probably a little but yeah definitely different quality plastic up top here as well.

You're going to have a pretty durable foam in plastic. This is gonna, be more durable than you know. Your iPhone glass backing and Samsung glass back and stuff, like that. So four drops and things like that. You know: you're, not gonna, have to worry quite as bad about having this thing shatter and breaking in things like that.

You might get some scratches in that from the actual finish on here. Yeah, but overall long-term. These are gonna, probably be more durable, because the aluminum finish on here and then your plastic on here, it's still gonna, be better than glass, might not look like that thousand-dollar flagship device, but it's going to be overall better for your typical daily use and your wear and tear on the device over the lifespan so size-wise, the pixel 3/8, is a bit larger than the pixel two. These are buttered up at the end here on the bottom of phone, and you can kind of see there at the tops a little longer here for the Pixel 3a. So it's a little taller than far as the overall width of the phone.

It's essentially a tie there, this I guess pixel three might be just a tad skinnier profile, wise they're, very similar as far as the kind of width. So these are two pretty different. Looking phones from the front, though, however, so I'm going to use that glare to kind of help. Show this you kind of see here on the 3a, the bezel kind of at the top, and how much bezel you're really working with so not a ton. The pixel two definitely has a much bigger bezel up on the top there, so that has definitely slimmed down a little.

So you can also see I do have a screen protector on the pixel two by not the 3a there, but you can see here. You've got Connie or like light sensor and your camera on the front, and then you've also got your front facing speaker there on the Pixel 3a you've got kind of the same. You got your front facing speaker right there in the middle camera. So again, a little chunkier on the pixel two on the bottom. Also, a bit different on the Pixel 3a here got again a smaller bezel here along the bottom, so not a lot there.

But then you do not have a front facing speaker on this heading back to the pixel -. You do have a front facing speaker down here and again. The chin is a lot bigger than on the Pixel 3a, so on the bottom of the 3a. Compared to the two can see there definitely a difference in the chin on the bottom as well. Yeah, going over to the left side of the phone here, both of the SIM trays are on the same side, so you got both of those right there.

So identical design, they're flipping this over to the right side of the phone again same design. There you've got your power buttons. You got your kind of cool accented power button on the 3a on the just black pixel ?, it's just kind of the same matte black color, and then you got your volume rockers on each right there and there. So that remains the same as well, so both the sides of the phone are the same on the top. The main differences here are: you can see the microphones on different sides here, but the main difference is on the 3a here.

The headphone jack is back, so that is located right there on the top and then on. The very bottom you've got the downward facing speakers of the Pixel 3a here on the pixel ? its front, we're facing on the bottom, but then you've got your type C on both of those right there out on the bottom, in the middle as well on the pixel ?, you can see kind of this little microphone port right there as well. That is not as visible on the Pixel 3a there and both of them. Of course, you've got your cameras up on the top there and those look pretty identical as well a little different in the placement of kind of like the flash there and in the actual camera itself. These both have a great amazing camera on it.

The pixel 2 has the visual core processor in there, which is supposed to help with a little of smoothing out pictures and kind of doing a little more for certain apps, and things like that. Let me know if you want me to do a review on the actual difference between these two cameras and maybe do some camera tests with the pixel 2 and the 3a, but I do have a whole database of pixel to videos and case reviews, and things like that.
