iPhone 12 vs Pixel 5 Speed Test!

So, what is up guys nick here, helping you to master your technology, iPhone 12 versus pixel, 5, speed test, and I was looking through my backlog of videos and I realized I've never actually done the speed test now. Keep in mind that the iPhone 12 is more of a premium chip set here. This one does have more of a mid-range chipset in the pixel 5, but it should still be a pretty fun comparison to see how strong is the pixel 5's performance because it is well optimized. So, let's begin with a boot up test in three two one and see which one can get there first now I do expect the iPhone 12 to win this test, but I'm not sure by how much, because you know we can talk about the processors all day, but in reality real world use is what matters here and the Google Pixel 5 does look like it might be in the lead, but no wait. That was pretty close. That was close to call, I would say, I'm going to call it about even there.

I think the iPhone 12 might have had to jump, but then the pixel came really quickly. That was very close. So even though it's a mid-ranger, it boots up around about the same time as this premium, a14 chipset in the iPhone 12. Okay. So when it comes to the biometrics here between both of them, they do operate very differently.

The iPhone 12 does use a face, I'd unlock, and it's very quick. However, you know the Google Pixel 5 does use the fingerprint sensor and that fingerprint sensor there you can be pulling this out of your pocket, tap that, and you're already getting it now. I am running android 11 here for the Google Pixel 5, so you're not going to get you know android 12, for this video, because that's still in beta, I don't think it's fair to compare the beta to an official version, and we're running 14 over here, I'm not going to run the 15 beta as well on the iPhone 12. I just don't think that would be fair either all right, so everything is closed out for both devices here, as you can see right there and then over here. Let me close everything out, and we're going to begin with this application test to see which one is quicker, we'll go into Instagram, and you'll see Instagram a little faster on the pixel 5, but, going to this page you'll see the iPhone 12 says: shut up nick, let's get up out of there, we're going to go into best, buy, and you'll see the best by opening a little quicker there for the Google Pixel 5.

, let's go to products, you'll see pretty similar and then TV home in theater that one's going to go to look like the left, we're going to Amazon snapdragon 765 g chip set over here versus Apple A14. So this is more of a mid-range CPU we're going to eBay, but the pixel 5 is the most optimized for that chip like the best performing phone you might find with that chip in it, we'll go into YouTube, and we'll go up here to explore. Let's go to explorer, and we'll go to trending and trending, pretty good on both superfast scrolling on iPhone, still a smoother scroll for the iPhone 12, and then you can see over here on the Google Pixel 5 you're, going to get more of a smoother 90 hertz display. So do keep that in mind. Let's go into Starbucks, and you'll, see.

Starbucks does open up first there for the Google Pixel 5. So even though this is a mid-range chip, it does seem to be performing quite well we'll go over here in the Groupon that was first there for the pixel categories. First there on the pixel things to do so. This could come down to you know the optimization of the app per platform we'll go into ESPN, but you'll see that it's doing pretty good overall by comparison to the iPhone 12 in these applications we'll go into more to combat, even though this phone is a much less powerful device. According to you know the specification sheet, it is definitely doing pretty good.

This might be where it struggles, though here a little is in the gaming. However, don't get it twisted? You can definitely still do gaming on the Google Pixel 5, but if you want a faster gaming experience, you're of course going to go with something like the iPhone 12, but this is going to change. I think google is going to go back with the 6 pro they're going to go back to a faster chip set this year, a more premium device. So this is not going to be for long, but if you decide to get the Google Pixel 5 because you want the more compact feel you can still do most of what you want on that device, we'll go into pub g mobile and I do think the iPhone will take the lead once again here in this department. This is going to be.

This is going to be interesting to see which one can open this up. First, so pixel a little ahead here, but will it get to that lobby first? That would be interesting if the Google Pixel 5 can get to that lobby first looks like it may or may not. So no it looks like the iPhone is going to load up the stuff, but it would have been to the lobby first here on the iPhone so yeah the iPhone had to load all of these pop-ups. This sometimes happened on pub g, but it would have won out on the lobby over here. The Google Pixel 5, but the pixel 5 didn't do bad.

It wasn't that far behind, let's go into tempo run, and what about this light game? You can see right there boom pretty similar. So that shows that you know just how good these Qualcomm chips can be. We'll go into cross road right here, and you'll see that the apple, a series chip set ahead and keep in mind. This is not the fastest chip on an android device, so don't be getting too happy over there, because the iPhone's winning out in some of these categories. This wouldn't be the same.

If we were putting this up against an 888 phone, let's go into geek bench 5. , you can see. Geek bench 5 was ahead. There we'll go into back in the entrench drive and show you. This is a 6 core, CPU right here.

It's clocked in at 2.4 gigahertz on the third cluster 2.21 on the second and 1.8 gigahertz on the first, but this phone because they clocked it a little lower, and it doesn't have the highest in processor. It has some of the best battery life, even though it's a smaller device, we'll go into 3dmark, and you'll, see 3d mark was faster there for the iPhone. So overall I would say the iPhone 12 was faster, but in some areas the pixel 5 was faster and in some areas the transitions look faster and in some areas and ways the pixel 5 feels quicker because of the 90 hertz panel. So even though this is mid-ranger upper mid-range processor, this phone is definitely not that far behind the iPhone 12, as you might think in terms of real-world everyday use all right. So let's go ahead and see if they do reload anything on either device.

You can see right there pretty similar so far, we're going to cross road and the iPhone had that, and so did the pixel 5 we'll go on tempo run very good PUBG. The pixel 5 was holding, it will go in the mortar combat that was also held on both of them very good, we'll go on the ESPN. Very good looks like the pixel.5 might have reloaded that had Groupon Starbucks YouTube reloaded there for the iPhone we're going to eBay, and this is pretty darn good for the Google Pixel 5 had that had to reload on the iPhone it's reloading on the iPhone not reloading there.40 Google Pixel 5 with its 6 gigs of ram versus this 4 gigs of ram, and you've. Seen the pixel 5 absolutely won that one out it was holding more applications, whereas the iPhone started reloading and that could be attributed to this having more ram on board than this device over here. So that just shows you that ram can make a difference in the real world all right.

So, let's run a quick internet test. We'll start with apple. com here on both chrome versus safari. You can see. Safari was a bit quicker than apple.

com. Both are very smooth in the pinch to zoom actions. All right, so we're going to type in google store up here, we'll hit, go, and you'll see. Safari is slightly quicker, we'll go to google store three two one, and you'll see a little faster there for the pixel, so apple loaded, their site, quicker, google loaded their site quicker, so yeah, very good. But even though this phone is not, you know again that the top processor, it still does good at browsing.

It's very fast, so you're not even going to notice you're using the snapdragon 765 g on the internet. Now, let's go ahead and run a geek bench 5 test, a CPU benchmark, and we'll see which one has the better score. We can already know the iPhone's probably going to win this, but by how much we'll see all right. So, as you can see, the iPhone 12 definitely has a far larger score. It has over a thousand points, 1491 versus 491 and then over a thousand points more on the multi-core.

So I knew this was going to happen in the benchmarks. It was game over the iPhone 12 was going to beat out the Google Pixel 5. There's no contest there, we could run a 3dmark, but it's going to be very similar, so we'll wrap it up here. The iPhone 12 is the faster phone for sure, but the Google Pixel 5 is a great alternative option. If you want long software support, you want a similar size to that.

You want a cheaper price point, and you want a great camera and I would argue better battery life than the iPhone 12, so it is pretty competitive, even though it's not quite as fast. So let me know your thoughts down below in the comments section of this video. If you found the speed test enjoying entertaining and forming. Let me know if you want to see more like this I'll catch you all in the next one nick here be sure to be well and peace.
