iPhone 12 Mini Vs iPhone 6S! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone time to do another iPhone comparison between the newly released iPhone, 12 mini and the somewhat older, iPhone 6s. Now this iPhone 6s is much, much older. It came out in 2015, so it's about five years over five years old. At this point, and what I will tell you is that if you have all the money in the world, I would a way recommend upgrading from an iPhone 6s to an iPhone 12 mini. It just makes way more sense, but the 12 mini, isn't the only iPhone. That's out there, and I'll kind of explain a little more as to which iPhone, I think specifically, you should go and upgrade to if you want to get the best bang for your buck, but the 6s, if you still own it, I mean it's still, not a bad phone, it's still supported, and it has a lot of going for it too, even though it is five years old.

Now on the front of the iPhone 6s, we have a 4.7 inch IPS panel, and it's 750p so a little higher than HD, and I think it's a pretty good panel. You know what I mean like it wasn't bad when it first came out for a five-year-old phone, it's still not bad, but the biggest problem with it is everything covering the panel. You know the top bezel, the bottom bezel the home button. Those type of things are the issues I would say, and I would definitely tell you this phone is dated for sure, but the thing to make you feel a little better. I mean apple released, you know the iPhone SE 2 and that phone was pretty good, and it still has pretty much the same exact design, even though that one has a glass back and feels much more premium.

This phone on the front is pretty similar to that. So, even though, on the iPhone 12 mini, though we're getting a bigger 5.4 inch panel, it's still a smaller phone overall than the success, which is very interesting now on the 12 mini it's a super retina Dr OLED panel, so definitely a better panel. Every single way you look at it. It's high resolution, it's bigger, it looks nicer. It looks like just a much better phone overall, but still, I would say, the 6s is panel that doesn't make it look worse, but it definitely shows you like wow.

The iPhone 12 mini, looks so much better than the iPhone 6s. Even though it's in a smaller form factor which is awesome now you still have the notch on the 12 mini, which really isn't that big of a deal compared to the amount of bezel on the iPhone 6s now in terms of the bottom, both have lightning ports. The iPhone 6s does have that headphone jack, which is really awesome, and we now have that flat side on the 12 mini on the 6s and a lot of other iPhones. We have that curved design on it. Now in the 12 minute, we have that flat design, which I really don't think anybody really cares anymore.

Honestly, it's kind of like outdated thing and on the back, you can see an aluminum back on the iPhone 6s and on the iPhone 12 mini. We have that glass back, and I would definitely say the glass pack is far better. You have capability that you know the 6s didn't have before, like with the wireless charging and the back tap features now with iOS 14. The iPhone 6s does not have any of that. So that's another, pretty big thing to keep in mind now, with those camera setups I'll go ahead and get into them.

The iPhone 6s has that single 12 megapixel camera. It's a wide angle lens, there's really not any more angles that we have with that specific lens, whereas in the iPhone 12 midi we have that 12 megapixel, wide angle lens and that 12 megapixel ultrawide sensor now with the iPhone 6s. What I can tell you- and I've said this before, and I'll say it again: it wasn't a bad camera at the time and I actually think it was pretty much one of the biggest revolutionary things that happened from one iPhone camera to the other, because specifically, we were having the ability of shooting 4k videos, the next generation, I think, with the seven plus added more capability with its dual camera setup, but with success I mean that 4k capability has transferred over to many other iPhones since then, which is really awesome, and I would definitely tell you the camera on it- isn't horrible. It does kind of suck a lot in the video quality and there's just not that many things you can do with it. I mean there's no portrait mode, no night mode, no 4k at 60.

The front. Camera is also only a five megapixel sensor, where you can only do 1080p videos on that, so the camera overall isn't horrible. It'll get the job done, but it's definitely outdated and the quality of the photos aren't as great as something like the 12 mini, including that front camera, whereas on the 12 mini we have that wide, whereas on the 12 minute we have that wide angle lens, as well as that ultrawide sensor, which I've said before, and I'll say it again is one of my favorite things about this specific device. I mean the camera of these phones, even though it is a smaller phone overall. They didn't really sacrifice in the camera to paramount, which is awesome.

It's pretty much the same camera as the iPhone 12. You can do 4k at 60 on that camera, and I think I filmed a camera comparison between these two, I'm not really to sure, but I pretty much found that the 12 mini is a much better camera lens for sure and with that front camera, that's 12 megapixels! You can also do 4k 60 on that camera as well, which that is a much better than the successes' camera. So if you're not even trying to get a camera upgrade, or you are trying to get a camera upgrade, you are for sure going to be getting a better camera from the iPhone 12 mini than on the iPhone 6s. That is for sure, 100 of a fact. There's no other way to wear it.

That phone is going to be doing you much better than the iPhone 6s, but I still think the 6s camera is okay for the most part. Like I said, there's you know the iPhone 11 that still has a perfect camera. Even the iPhone 10r is worlds above the iPhone, 6s and apple's still selling that brand new for 4.99. So that's another, pretty big thing to keep in mind as well, so in terms of the camera that pretty much covers it up now hitting on the software department, the iPhone 6s and the iPhone. So many are both on iOS 14.

Now, sadly enough, the iPhone 6s is probably going to be ending off at iOS 14, that's based on all the rumors that are coming out, and I believe it. I don't think the iPhone 6s is going to get iOS 15, and even if it does, I don't think it's gonna. Be that great. To be honest, I think it's going to be a weird experience. Io's 14 needs to be perfected, for the iPhone 6s to you know rest in peace.

So hopefully that's the case. I hope it doesn't get another software update, and it ends up breaking it or ends up hurting it even more than it is, but the iPhone 7 is just getting started with updates, like you can pick up this thing now and be supported for years and years and, like I said before, you'll probably end up upgrading the phone before you even get done with the software updates of this phone. So that's a huge thing about the 12 mini, so in terms of software that pretty much covers it up now hitting on the performance. I will definitely tell you. I mean this is kind of easy one.

The iPhone 6s has that Apple A9 chip inside it with two gigabytes of ram. The first iPhone with two kegs of ram with the iPhone 12 mini, has that Apple A14 bionic chip inside it with four gigabytes of ram. Now I don't know what you guys want me to say, because obviously the iPhone 12 mini is the better performing phone for sure this is just a given. That phone is going to be able to do everything you throw at it and then some there is an issue with the ram management, but I still think even with that issue, the iPhone 6s still doesn't keep up quite well. To be honest.

Now with the success, I don't want to say it's a horrible performing phone because, like I said it was the first phone to bring two gigs of ram for an iPhone. So I have a lot of respect for it for there, but I will say for a day-to-day operating device. It's not bad like it still surprises me. If you need a phone that you know, you just want to go ahead, and you know take phone calls, or you know, text from, and you don't really utilize too much from a device. You tend to use your MacBook or a PC or whatever to do most your work and I think a success will still be okay.

I think a bigger problem may be the battery life, but I think for day day-to-day operations, like I stated, a lot of people will still be okay with something like an iPhone 6s. I think it'll definitely get the job done for the most part, but it's not going to wow you. It's not going to be a good performing phone. It's going to be an okay performing phone for a 2015 five-year-old device. That's how I would put it.

If Apple made a phone that performed like this today it would be horrible people would, you know, be marching in the streets, it would be horrible. You know I would have a horrible experience with it, but I think a lot of people when considering the age of this device, probably give it a know a little of a slide, the 12 mini, though far better. I mean it's just a given it's going to be the better performing machine. It's going to you know it's twice the amount of ram way better than twice the amount of performance from it. So I'll definitely tell you.

The performance from the iPhone 12 mini is going to be far better than the performance of the iPhone 6s. That's just a given, so that pretty much covers it up there now ending it off with the battery life. This is another case where the 12 mini is just going to dominate the iPhone 6s. Now my success has horrible battery life is degraded to like 79 battery life, and I'm pretty sure a lot of successes out there are going to be there too. I don't think people are.

You know really hyping up this phone's battery life, like maybe they used to you know this thing has a 17 15 million power battery the iPhone 12 mini, has a 22 27 William hour battery, so you're definitely going to be getting a better performing machine for in terms of the battery life from the iPhone 12 mini than on the iPhone 6s 100 of a fact. So, in terms of the battery life that pretty much covers it up and to kind of sum up this video once I answer the question: should you go and pick up an iPhone 6s, or should you keep your success, or should you go and pick up an iPhone, 12 mini now? This is what I'll tell you with the iPhone 6s. It has a lot of capability for a five-year-old device, but that's the thing: it's a five-year-old phone you're not going to be getting the best. Looking phone, the best performing phone, the best battery you're not going to be getting anything you're going to be getting a very, very mediocre phone of a 2020 standard, but it's only good because it's five years old, you know if it was you know, came out this year, it'd be a horrible performing phone I'll, be completely honest. There's no real reason to even pick it up the battery life.

Isn't that great the cameras? Aren't that great there's just really not a huge reason to pick up an iPhone 6s. Now, if you currently own the 6s, that's a totally different story, I would probably say if you own it, if I were you, I would end up keeping it for as long as I possibly could, and then you know probably buying a used, iPhone, 12 mini eventually or what I would do is. I would probably pick up an iPhone 11 or iPhone 10r in the brand-new market. Those phones cost 5.99 to 4.99 respectively, and I think that is a much better deal to pick up than the iPhone 12 mini. The 12 mini is a perfect iPhone.

It's one of the best iPhones. You could pick up right now, but there's still some flaws with it. I think 729 dollars for this phone is just too much, especially considering that it has a smaller battery than the iPhone 11. That was another pretty big issue that I had with it, and I'm not too much of a fan with it. To be completely honest, I wish it did have a little more capability when it came down to the battery life such as you know, maybe a bigger sized battery than you know the iPhone 11 or something because it's kind of like a downgrade, but I'll still tell you it's the best iPhone one of the best iPhones you're, getting a perfect camera setup.

You're, getting tremendous camera quality, great, build quality. I mean this thing feels way better than the iPhone 6s wireless charging, tremendous performances' thing it's going to knock your socks off, and it's going to be lasting for an extremely long amount of time, and you're getting IP certification and just a better build quality for sure. When you feel both in the hand the iPhone 6s just doesn't feel as good as the iPhone 12 mini and take it as you will. But that may be a big deal to some people. I would rather have a better feeling phone overall than you know, a phone that can, you know, not perform as well, and you know it's cheaper, and it's not like.

I would rather just spend the money and get something like an iPhone 12 mini but, like I said, if you don't want to spend all that 729 the 499 iPhone 10r is an insanely good value too, and it could potentially be a better value in some cases than the iPhone 10r like on what I said when it comes down to the battery life. So that's another pretty big thing to keep in mind, but that's pretty much how I would sum up this whole entire video.
