iPad Pro 12.9 M1 Full Review!

So, what is up guys nick here, helping you to master your technology? Welcome back to the channel iPad Pro 12.9 m1 full review. Now I've had this product a little over a week, but it's not that difficult to understand. So I'm going to go ahead and give you the review now on the product. I will say a few key specs that matter. We do have the m1 CPU in here the new liquid retina Dr. Oh, I was going to say: OLED mini LED display on here.

That does give you a crazy contrast ratio that reminds me of an older display, which is why I almost said that, and then you do have 1600 in its peak at HDR and 1000 nits of brightness here. So a very bright display is the brightest display, probably ever on a mobile device. Maybe so definitely extremely bright display right here, but those are some of the key things that matter. Of course, we have the dual cameras on the rear, but iPad cameras never seem to be that big of a know thing to talk about, because the phone cameras are usually better anyway, but we will cover them later in the video. Let me begin with the body the design if you've held the 2020 iPad with the a12z.

This is the same product right here. Even the 2018 feels very similar up at the top. You do have yourself the magnetic connector for the Apple Pencil volume rockers right about there. You can see. There is a little of a camera bump there on the back side, just a big Apple logo, iPad right there connectors for the magic keyboard at the bottom.

We do have ourselves the thunderbolt port. We do have ourselves speaker, and then you can see over here on the top side same thing. Furthermore, we do have ourselves speakers up there power button right there, no touch I'd integrated. This one does have face ID. So this is a face ID product right here, so they're kind of separating touch ID on the iPad Air 4 and face ID for the pro experience, maybe trying to say face ID might be the more premium way of unlocking your iPad, so overall looks not much to talk about is basically the same as the iPad, 2018 and 2020 on the front, with the back looking a little closer to the iPad 2020 because of the camera setup over there.

Now I want to further elaborate on this display, because do you see the deepness of the blacks on this display? This is incredibly contrast, rich and because it's so contrast, rich videos, look better photos. Look better! Everything looks better if you like to see vibrant colors when you are viewing your content. So for this reason alone, if you love media experience on a tablet, and you want it to be improved, this is the main reason, one of the main reasons to buy this product right here and when you are doing your, you know, video, editing and stuff like that. You do have extremely accurate calibration as well on this tablet, but having that promotion display makes it super slick and smooth and also like, I say, just look at the deepness of the blacks. If you go back to another iPad, you will definitely see how much deeper the blacks are here.

They're, not even close to gray- and it's been my favorite upgrade so far of this product is just how bright this gets, the contrast ratio, the mini, led. I think it has taken a hit on battery life, because this battery life don't seem as strong as my 2020 iPad 11. Even but still, I don't really care about a little tiny hit on battery life for just having this gorgeous display right here. In addition, you have your same features: you're used to trueing tone, dark mode night shift, it's all there, so I'm talking about the overall platform. This is iPadOS on here and the iPadOS 14.6. It should be updated to 15 soon when we do see the betas here I want to see some upgrades and what iPadOS can do as they maybe give this lap library widgets to be able to be placed all over the screen.

It will be a little more productive, maybe some pro applications, because right now the iPadOS experience doesn't really seem to be something that needs a m1. CPU right here definitely seems like that's more useful on a desktop operating system like the MacBook Air m1. So definitely, I would say the m1 is strong to have for gaming. The frame rates have improved. It keeps the device cool when under heavy load.

I really like that as well and yeah. The video editing, though, we've seen in my speed test, is not super different in terms of the actual render times from the a12z. So I will say the m1 is awesome to have in here it's more of a future investment you're investing into the future of where this can go versus right now, where it kind of still just feels like an a12z. If you get what I'm saying it's supercharged, but it's not taking full advantage of that power. Just yet is how I feel about this product right now, guys when you try a m1 MacBook Pro m1, MacBook Air.

You notice that immediately, it's inbred incredibly mind-blowing when you're coming from an older MacBook device with intel stuff inside now. One another amazing thing about this product is that you have a storage configuration that can go all the way up to what is it like two terabytes, that's insane like you can get an insane amount of storage on this product. So if you definitely want to make this your only computing device up to two terabytes yeah, it's going to cost you over two grand but definitely giving you a ton of storage space available for iPad this year. Definitely a major win for this iPad. It's also nice to have thunderbolt connections on here, definitely giving you a very strong ability to get faster drive speeds connecting to monitors and stuff like that, should also be easier as well.

Although there have been some people saying that it's not quite as quick as they would have expected compared to thunderbolt on something like the MacBook series, bring the fake Lamb in here for a minute. Let's talk about the cameras here, it's a dual camera with LIDAR scanner for AR and improving stuff like that. Now this iPad camera. You know it definitely doesn't seem to be better than something like an iPhone 12 Pro. Obviously, even though the specs would suggest you know it's pretty similar 12 megapixel 10 megapixels, you would think.

Oh, it's going to be very similar. It's close, but I took some photos outside, and I was nowhere near as impressed as like an iPhone camera. However, I will say that it still does have the know great, focusing the apple does put on their products, so no focus issues. You could definitely set this up on a tripod and get some strong video performance. It does have easy to take photos.

It's very simple, just like an iPhone I'm covering the camera, the front facing selfie camera now, a 12 megapixel as well. So it matches up a little better, but I can see noise in the camera. It just doesn't look as strong as what I see on the iPhone series of cameras so yeah, it's still iPad cameras, they'll get the job done, they can be usable in a pinch and definitely if you want to set it up on a tripod, and you can get the lighting right, most people probably wouldn't be able to tell you're using an iPad camera, so they're strong, but they're, not overly impressing me. This is how I can say that, like I don't know how to say it, they didn't put the eye. It doesn't seem like they put the iPhone 12 Pro cameras in here.

It just looks like they put pretty good iPad cameras in here now battery life. I don't know what it is. It just seems like I'm not getting as much battery life as I used to on the iPad. Now it's a huge display, but I feel like I'm getting like eight hours of battery life on here. It doesn't seem to be pushing that 10 hour claim, especially if I got that brightness cranked.

All the way up, I'm not getting the best battery life I've ever seen on an iPad. However, it still gets through most of the whole day and if you're doing light brightness like very low brightness, it's going to make it the 10 hours easily. However, I would say I think, there's some iPads that definitely can outshine this in the battery life department. Maybe the lower power iPads, probably like the eighth generation, could probably get a little longer, just because you know it's not pushing that super bright display, but man, the experience of this display is far more juicy. If you know what I mean so overall standby amazing standby battery life, when actually using the display, I'm going to say anywhere from eight to ten hours, depending on how bright you have the display.

Now, when it comes to the audio performance, it's not the best I've ever seen, but I think most users who buy this phone. It's got a very deep and rich sound to it troubles, making it through an entire day on this device. Now, if you're, not an incredible, you know viewing experience with the know deeper blacks. Here it really does make your video stand out. However, I do think Samsung's Galaxy Tab, s7 plus, is a better media experience still just because of the aspect ratio giving you these massive black bars, and while this is close to OLED, you still don't beat OLED with having the actual.

You know, pixels, not even lighting up, so it's the best iPad viewing experience ever, but I like how apple does keep this aspect ratio because it makes their device more productive with the taller screen, but still giving you now with the mini led a very saturated contrast feel so you kind of got a little of the best of both worlds, but you still have to deal with the black bars here, but audio overall, very good, especially if you're you know, especially if you're watching something the audio is like right in front of your face. It's really awesome, and I'm not going to cover this too much, but we talked a little about the Apple Pencil. You have the scribble feature. It's been on a while. I don't feel like wasting time talking about this.

It's great for artists, it's great for note. Taking what else is there to know? You got to pay the extra for that Apple Pencil, the magic keyboard as well, not much to talk about here either. You know it's a white magic keyboard. I've had it for a little over a week. I can already see it's starting to get a little dirty around the corners.

You have to maintain it you're going to have to keep this thing clean. However, I don't think it's as bad as many people might think when they see. Oh, that's white. That's going to get dirty super easy! It's not super easy to get dirty if you're really messy well yeah, but if you're, even somewhat careful with this, it doesn't get really that dirty and the magic keyboard is a huge investment over the top of the iPad itself. It's like 350 bucks, almost 400 with taxes, but it's really sturdy, and it's something that's built that can last for several years.

Furthermore, it also has a port to charge over here which definitely allows you to charge it and the iPad itself at the same time. So pretty cool and this magic keyboard lasts like a couple of months before I usually need to charge it so pretty cool, and it's backlit, so very nice overall keyboard experience, probably the best keyboard attachment for a tablet on the market, only space, gray and silver here for the pro devices, I'm okay with that, because you know pro device doesn't need to be a zingy color. Most pros are trying to be focused on what they're doing they don't need a distracting color, you know, on their face all day, face ID works, fantastic as well. So in conclusion, I'm going to end this video here is this iPad Pro 12.9 m1 and most of my thoughts here are going to be the same for the iPad Pro 11. So if you're looking for that one most of what I'm saying here applies, except for the mini, LED display discussion.

So the question is: do you need this product? If you have an iPad, 2018 iPad, pro 2018 or iPad Pro 2020- and the answer is no- unless you actually need this crazy mind-blowing performance, which I'm sure a lot of iPad users won't need. However, who should buy this, and my answer is: if you really love the best specs get it you're, going to love it. Have you been itching for iPads to stop looking very gray with the black contrast ratio and stuff like that? Definitely get this you're going to be mind blown by this display versus the other iPads. Are you a heavy tablet user, and you're really invested in where apple might take this system get this? This is the best hardware ever on an iPad you're going to love it are you an artist who really enjoys the Apple Pencil, and you want to have an even better experience than before. You probably will like this even more just because of again the colors are a little richer and when you're working with color you're gonna, like that, if you're into media you'll love this as well, because the mini led, if you're into gaming, the m1 will definitely make you very happy, because you know it can just run games it loads them faster.

It's much higher frame rates than before it can video edit very amazingly. So you got strong performance if you're really into strong, and I mean and guys I don't mean everyday performance. I mean you like, really push the boundaries of what your product can do. You're playing the top tier games on the market, you're playing you're, doing things that really push the iPad. Definitely you'll like this, but is it ready to replace a laptop for some people? It depends on what you do maybe, but I would say for most people not quite yet- and the last thing I want to mention is that I'm very happy with my purchase of this product.

The main reason I'm very happy with this product is because of display. I really am a sucker for displays and this one has been really amazing like super worth. It super worth it just because the mini led is just such a strong upgrade over prior edition. So if you guys are going to pick up the m1 iPad Pro, let me know: did you pre-order one? Are you just waiting it out for the pre-order you just haven't got yours yet, or you plan on getting one? I think you're going to love the performance, you're going to love the display. You're going to love the hardware, but if you're looking for a redesigned iPad, this is not it.

It feels very similar if you have a 2018 and a and very similar if you have a 2020, if you don't need that juicier display, and you don't need that extra performance, because your 812z is just a boss already, I would say, skip it out and save your money on that front so thumbs up. If you found this video helpful and entertaining and forming, if you enjoyed this video, you might like this one as well. Thank you very much for watching nick here up and you to master your technology. Be sure to be well and peace.
