HTC U11+ (U11 Plus) versus Samsung Galaxy Note 8: speedtest

Hi I'm Nick gray, the high-tech traveler and welcome back to another smartphone speed test today, I'm going to be comparing the HTC: u 11, plus against the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Let's take a look. These two phones are both running on Qualcomm's Snapdragon, 835 processors, but the HTC. U 11, plus only has four gigs of RAM, while the note eight has six there's, also a difference in screen, size and resolution. The note 8 has a six point: three inch 1440 by 2960 display compared to the HTC you Elevens 6-inch 1440 by 2880. It's not much of a difference, so it shouldn't have a huge impact on the results.

Like always I'll start things off with a fresh boot. This ensures that all apps are cleared from memory. It's also fun to see which device has a quicker boot time, but just keep in mind that a phone's boot time isn't indicative of which device is faster for the speed test. I'll be launching the same apps simultaneously on both devices to see which phone loads them faster. I'll also be coming back around a second time to see which device loads them quicker from memory.

So sit back and enjoy after round one. The 11 plus, is out ahead with a score of 8 to 4, but I have a feeling that the note 8 will make up some of that ground in round 2, since it has more RAM than the 11 plus does at the end of the speed test, the note 8 managed to come up with a win, but just barely was a score of 12 to 11. HTC's device seems to do better with number crunching and launching the apps for the first time. Well, the note 8 has a clear advantage when it comes to multitasking thanks to its six gigs of RAM.
