Google Pixel 5 vs. Pixel 4a 5G - Which one should you Buy?

Comes in at 499 and this one comes in at 6.99, so is it worth the 200 price bump? What's up party people android stud here, and I have two of Google's the newest devices, the pixel 5a and also the Pixel 4a 5g. Now the pixel 5 is also 5g. So it's technically the pixel 5 5g. This is the Pixel 4a 5g. So let's talk about these uh phones um in this video. Now I've had this one for a little while- and it has been an absolute beast of a performer um has done- has impressed me much more than I thought it would when I first got it.

I was like ah, but you know what this is my everyday phone my daily driver, my my my whip, if you, if you say for lack of a better term, but now this is right here. This is the pixel 4 a5g. Now this comes in at 4.99, and this one comes in at 6.99. So is it worth the 200 price bump? Well, let's talk about that now. This comes in a couple, colors, obviously the sword of sage, which is beautiful, also the black.

This comes in black right now, but it'll probably have some more colors coming soon. Now this is the upgrade of the Pixel 4a. Remember they came out earlier in the year. This one has the 5g the better uh processor. Now these both have the snapdragon 765 uh g snap processor, so they both have the same engine, same exact cameras, dual lens on the back 12.2 and 16 megapixel, wide angle, lenses on the back and then on the front, as you can see here. Let me turn this on there.

You go on the front you both you get that cut out there on the left side, which is an 8 megapixel, um lens on your front facing camera. So as far as that's concerned, that's all identical. Now, as far as the body. Now you get aluminum build on here, which is really nice. It's premium feeling it does make a big difference over this plastic, build that's on the 4a 5g.

So for that also gorilla glass 6 on this on the front. Also, this is gorilla, glass, 3, so take that into consideration. So a lot premium device here, a lot smaller display. As you can see here, the 5 pixel 5 has a 6.0 led panel, but it has 90 hertz display, which you know that's pretty cool. Also.

This has a 6.2 OLED panel same exact uh 1080p by 2340, but this is only 60 hertz. Now. The one thing I did notice with these phones is, I feel, like the pixel 5's display has deeper blacks. It just seems, like everything, looks a lot more crisp on the phone uh when you're looking at you know Twitter and Instagram things of that that nature uh. This is a nice display too, but I just feel like uh.

The pixel 5 is a little nicer when it comes to the colors on it. Um, it just looks to me just looks a little deeper, deeper blacks, um, but the size of this one is nice because you get a bigger display which is kind of cool. Now they both come with 128 gigabytes of storage, although this has eight gigabytes of ram. This has six gigabytes of ram um. This has ip68 dust and water resistance.

This does not. Okay, you do get a headphone jack on the Pixel 4a 5g. You do not get a headphone jack on this one. You're going to have to do Bluetooth or type c um. As far as that concern both have stereo speakers um, they sound good.

I think they're, fine for me, no there's a big, sometimes the speaker on this one is underneath the display. So when you get phone calls, it does sound a little different, maybe weird, but you do get used to it. Uh on these phones. Now you get the 4 000 William battery on the pixel 5, which is great, and I'm telling you get over six hours of screen on time this little sucker here I do not have to charge it for almost a day and a half I'm not kidding. I never have to worry about battery with this phone.

The only phone, that's an android that I've had that. I don't have to worry about battery life. Now this one, you do have to charge it some because it does have a smaller uh battery at 3800. So you have to take that in consideration. Now they both have um android 11 out the box.

They'll get the latest and greatest from Google you're going to get security updates, you're going to get android, 12, 13 and probably 14. So now these both have rear fingerprint readers, which are they seeming like very old because of the in display and the face unlock and that kind of thing, but it's kind of nice when you're wearing a mask now these days, you know because of the coronavirus pandemic, that's going on the world in 2020, but those fingerprint display I mean they're solid pixels always had solid fingerprint readers when it comes to their stuff. So you won't have no issues there now. Is it worth the 200 dollars? Also, on here you get um. You get wireless charging on here uh.

I believe it is 12 watt QI chart wireless charging. You only get 18 watt uh wired charging on here fast charging, which is great. You also get reverse charging on here with at five watts. So that's a feature that you're not going to find on the Pixel 4a 5g um for 200.00 uh. It depends on too, if you want a bigger phone, if you want something small and compact I'll, tell you what using the pixel 5 every day.

It just seems like this phone is just it gets it done it just because it's its smaller, it's more compact! You can throw it in your pocket, throw in your bag, throw it in your gym. Bag go buy. You know, just when you're on the move, if it's not like a note or a bigger iPhone or not that this one's big. It just seems like this one you could. Just you know, one-handed operation sometime is nice.

When it comes to a phone um, you know where you don't have to sit there and constantly uh worry about. You know how big your phone is and that good stuff. So those are the things you got to consider when checking out these devices, but I'm telling you these are both excellent devices um. I really do enjoy the pixel 5 much more. If you ask me if it's worth 200 more, I would say.

Yes, I think it is this one I like it. I just it feels cheaper. I'm not crazy about the plastic back. Yes, you could put a case on it. Yes, you could do a lot of things to make it maybe put a skin on it, so it doesn't feel so plastic um, I just like the way this one is built.

It just feels like it's stronger. It's got more of a premium feel to it um. You know with the recycled aluminum on the back and the glass six on the front. This one is um. Like I said, the plastic is just.

I mean it's nice that you have a headphone jack, that's kind of cool um, but I use wireless headphones. So to me, it doesn't matter any more um. As far as that is concerned, um the 90 hertz display also on here. So you get the 90 hertz you get the ip68, you get the wireless charging uh you get the better premium, build and feel on here, um, but the same cameras all the way down to the sensors. I mean they are the same exact thing.

You know this one, you, you know you have the headphone jack. You have a bigger display, it's cheaper, so I don't know it just depends what you want um I just I like the way this one looks uh the displays on just the way the things look on on on here are just so much better um than what they look like on the uh on the Pixel 4a 5g. I just like the way this one looks it just. Ah, man I just for me. It just looks so much better.

So I don't know at the end of the day. It's what are you looking for um? That's what that's! That's! That's the uh! That's the question. When it comes to both these devices um. You know you have some other devices that are out there, the OnePlus word, but you have to import that phone um. I honestly, if you wanted to bring a bigger screen size, and it's funny- I'm going to say this, and it's probably an unpopular opinion, but I would just get a Pixel 4 XL, that's used for around 400 bucks or 500 bucks, a 128 pixel 4xl over this.

It's just yeah. This has the bezel-less display. It's got! 5G, but I just don't know how big 5g is, yet I don't think you need a 5g phone all they are the rage they're. They think there's what they're that's what's trending right now, but I really don't think you need it um, but this is an excellent performer. This I love over the Pixel 4 XL or the pixel 4, but I would take the pixel 5, then the Pixel 4 XL, and then I would get this or the Pixel 4a uh the little one that is smaller than this one as far as display size, but they're, both great devices um.

I can't complain with either one of these, but I do like the pixel 5 a lot better. I think you should spend the money for this. Furthermore, I think in the long run, you'll appreciate it, but if you want the bigger display at a cheaper price, I can't blame you. You could also get some real good deals with this pixel 4 a5g, where this one is not being discounted at this point. Yet so, but that's gonna, does it man? I appreciate you guys watching the video.

If I forgot anything I apologize, I was. I hope that I covered everything uh. The cameras are basically the same when it comes to these phones they're excellent. They take great portraits great wide angle, great shots. They both have.

These both have the wide angle. So, at the end of the day, these are excellent devices, but listen lee jump down in the comments.
