Google Pixel 4a Vs iPhone 8! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone time to do another comparison between the newly released google, Pixel 4a and a strange little phone, the iPhone 8. I might be wondering why I'm comparing these two random phones and honestly there's a lot of similarities between them. You know we have kind of the same type of body. You know they kind of feel the same in the hand and even in the user market, you know they're a little different in price. We have 350 brands new for the Pixel 4a, with the iPhone 8 is selling for about a little less than 300. So you can pick up this phone for far about a hundred dollars cheaper than this phone, but it's still pretty interesting.

I'm more fascinated about the speed comparison between these two because I feel like the iPhone 8 will probably be slower than that Pixel 4a, but we'll go ahead and see that when the time comes now starting off with the front, the iPhone 8 had a 4.7 inch display it's 750p, and it's an IPS panel which isn't really that bad on a phone like an iPhone 8. You know it's getting pretty good colors, it doesn't look cheap. The only downside of the iPhone 8 specifically is the same problem that the iPhone SE 2 also had, and that is the pretty thick bezels around the display, the top and bottom. Both you know the earpiece up top the home button at the bottom kind of that older design, not a lot of phones. Besides, the sc2 are looking like this, so you might not like it.

That is something you're going to have to ask yourself, but if you're, okay with it, then obviously you do have the capability on the iPhone 8, so kind of keep that in mind. It is what it is, but that's the type of body style you're getting on this phone versus something like the pixel 4 8, in which you're getting that 5.8 one inch OLED display, and it definitely looks far better than the iPhone 8 panel. I mean when you look at them side by side. Even from this angle, you can tell that the iPhone 8 definitely looks a little outdated. The Pixel 4a also has very little bezel around the whole entire display, but the best thing about it is that camera hole you have that whole plus display in the top left corner with the iPhone 8.

I mean we have the bezels, but this came out in 2017. It's totally. Okay, I'm acting like this thing just came out, but the weird thing is, like I said before, the body style is the same exact way from this phone to the se2. Now that 4a also has you know pretty good display. You know angle, so if I'm looking at it here, it still looks pretty good.

The iPhone 8 also has perfect angles too, and there's a way less reflection coming from this panel than this panel. So if I put them like this, you can kind of see that ultimately you're getting more reflection from the Pixel 4a display. So, if you're always in direct sunlight or something you're going to have a better kind of viewing angle from the iPhone 8's perspective than the pixel 4as, but you're getting that hola display and a better looking phone overall on the 4a than the iPhone 8, at least in terms of the front. So in terms of that, I would definitely give the edge to the Pixel 4a for the front panel on the bottom lightning port on the 8 USB type c on the Pixel 4a, the pixel 4 also has a headphone jack, which is fascinating, thickness wise. You can kind of see what's going on and here again I'll definitely tell you the iPhone 8 is the thinner device.

It definitely doesn't look as thick as something like the Pixel 4a, but the Fourier isn't that thick either, and this is when you start seeing some big differences and some main advantages for a phone like an iPhone 8 you're. Getting that aluminum body that glass on the back that premium feeling device with the Pixel 4a in my opinion, doesn't feel premium. It doesn't feel like that most premium device that google could have made for at least for the money. It is a budget phone, so we'll give it the benefit of the doubt and on the back single camera setups on both fingerprint sensor on the back of the foray iPhone 8 has a front facing fingerprint sensor and again here we go again like the Pixel 4a has that plastic back doesn't feel that great the iPhone 8 has that glass back, which is very cool. I really like this type of phone and the feeling that I get from failing a phone like the iPhone 8 versus a phone like the Pixel 4a.

So it is what it is, but it is something to keep in mind while you're holding both phones, the iPhone 8 also has IP certification and wireless charging, where the Pixel 4a does not have anything like that. So those are some major differences between both of them. In my opinion, I think the way they look. The iPhone 8 obviously does not look as good as something like the Pixel 4a, but the iPhone 8 feels better. It has you know IP certification, and it has wireless charging.

Those are some major advantages for a phone like an iPhone 8, even though it came on in 2017. It still has some perfect advantages over a phone like a pixel 4, even in this category. So in terms of that, that really pretty much covers it now hitting on this software. Both are stock for the most part, there's no bloatware ever on iPhones, but on android you do sometimes get that, but on a stock android phone like the Pixel 4a, you are not getting that which is really nice. So in terms of software they're, both stock, which is really cool, features and everything you're going to have to determine whether you like iOS or android.

But the big thing to keep in mind is that both of these phones will last for a very long time, but I kind of think that the 4a may last maybe a little longer than the 8. But then again I don't know we're still kind of early on with the 4a, where especially early on, but with the iPhone 8 apple could probably push out. Another two or three updates on this phone, and it could match somewhere near the Pixel 4a. So it's not like they're going to be identical, like they're, going to be like exactly the same, but it could potentially be where the iPhone 8 and the Pixel 4a, maybe last almost as long or maybe a year different from one another. So it's not like if you get the iPhone 8 now or the pix 4a, it's going to completely outlast the other phone by like years and years and years on end, but it's going to be pretty close to my opinion.

So in terms of software I think they're going to end around the same time, but it's still probably give the edge to something like a 4a. You do have custom ROM support too, which is really cool the iPhone. It doesn't have anything like that. So in terms of that, that really pretty much covers it up now I'll go ahead and do a little of a speed test between them. So we can kind of see which one is faster, and this is what I'm more focused on the iPhone.8 has an apple 11, bionic chip x, core CPU and 2 gigs of ram on each model. The Pixel 4a has that Qualcomm snapdragon 730 730g chipset an outscore CPU and six gigs of ram on each model.

So let's go and see which one is the fast one between this two okay. Now that we're back, let me go and clear all these apps in the background, so I have a lot these third party apps downloaded. So let's just get into them. Let's do Facebook three two one, and I think I might have already had to load it on the Pixel 4a by accident, so Facebook again, three two one: okay, the iPhone I loaded faster, followed by the Pixel 4a, but we'll give that one. The benefit of that one was really weird twitter, three two one for a faster iPhone 8, a little behind snake versus blocks.

Three two one and Pixel 4a was faster, followed by the iPhone 8 getting into some gameplay. Let's see if there's a difference, and they're, probably actually the iPhone 8 seems to be stuttering just a little in the beginning with them. Don't know if you guys were able to see it. I don't know what just happened here. Do Netflix three two one Pixel 4a faster iPhone 8 a little behind it.

Quizlet three, two one Pixel 4a faster, followed by the iPhone 8. Let's do temple run the original one, three two one we might have to restart this one. This game is always weird and yeah. We will have to restart it, because this one was in the game. Topper run again three two one, and maybe it'll be the case where the iPhone is faster.

I don't know this one's kind of weird one and iPhone 8 was faster, followed by the iPhone Pixel 4a, let's get into some gameplay and I don't think there's going to be a difference at open. It's just a habit for me at this point, and they're going to be about the same when it comes down to it, temple run two three two one and the iPhone it was faster to get into this specific panel, bought it in the 4a. So the 40 was able to get into the game panel first, so yeah, it's probably going to end up being faster on the 4a. As you can see, this one is faster. Eventually we do get into it on the iPhone 8 and there are some noticeable differences for sure.

So far it seems like the Pixel 4a is the faster one. Every single time now, I do have like two more apps that I can load up gameplay-wise. They both look exactly the same here, Instagram three, two one, four a faster and it's so much faster on the 48. Now that I'm being honest, BFA, 321 and 4a faster, eventually we'll get into it on the iPhone 8, and we do get into it on the iPhone 8. Eventually, let's go and end it off with real racing, three, two one and a little of a itchiness going on with the 4a.

Sometimes when you open a nap, these android devices do glitch up a little, but I think it will ultimately still be faster on a phone like the 4a over the iPhone 8. As you can see, we're fully loaded on the 4a, the iPhone 8 is going to take its time. I think- and I don't know if we have to download it again. Sometimes I've been in situations where I have to re-download it on these devices, which is really weird, and I really hate that, but I guess we'll just see what happens nope, so eventually we do get into it on the iPhone 8. So I can definitely tell you when it comes down to it.

The iPhone 8 is still a fast device smooth, it might be smoother than the 4a, but the 4a is definitely a faster phone for sure and definitely the better performer as well. So, let's go in on the cameras very quickly. They both have single camera setups. The iPhone 8 has a 12 megapixel lens. The Pixel 4a has a 12.2 megapixel lens. Both can do 4k 30, but the iPhone 8 does have the ability of shooting 4k 60, and I do actually think that the iPhone 8 may have the better camera sensor here.

Both are very good, but I do kind of appreciate the fact that the iPhone 8 can shoot 4k at 60, which is really cool. It may not be a big deal to a lot of you, but it may be a big deal to some of you, and it's always better to be able to shoot more resolutions than not in terms of taking the photos. They both look the same, but I think I would still get the edge to the iPhone 8 at the end of the day on the front 7 megapixel sensor on the iPhone 8 8 megapixel sensor on the Pixel 4a, and even in this case I would still probably give the edge to the iPhone 8, but the pixel 4's front. Camera is still pretty good for a 350 dollar phone. Now, let's go and hit on the battery.

You have a 1821 million power battery on the iPhone 8, but a 3 140 William hour battery on the Pixel 4a and here for sure you're going to get the better battery life from a phone like the Pixel 4a. But the other thing to keep in mind is that the iPhone 8 does have wireless charging. Like I stated before, and that's a pretty cool feature. You know it doesn't have reverse wireless charging, but you can still put it on a wireless charger and get charging out of it where the Pixel 4a does not have that ability which is kind of weird. I really don't like that.

So, ultimately, what I can tell you are: is this? Okay, if you have all the money in the world, even if you don't have all the money in the world, the Pixel 4a is probably the better way to go. It's a probably better phone out of these two you're. Getting that better display bigger display, which I like a newer looking design, but I think the iPhone 8 is still a very good device. You're, getting a perfect, build quality, perfect cameras, wireless charging, but surprisingly, there's really not one that blows the other one out of the water like completely, but I do think the pixel 4 is probably the better one for most of you, but if you want to save a little more money, picking up an iPhone 8, also a perfect idea too. So that's really pretty much it if you guys have any other questions or anything.
