Google Pixel 4A 5G in 2021 | Still a Really Really Good Buy! By [Sic]Erik TV

How's it going YouTube welcome to another episode of sick Eric TV, and today we're going to be talking about the Pixel 4a 5g in 2021. Now this phone got released last year in about September, and we're almost going on a year of this device, and it is a really, really great phone. If you want the best cameras, point and shoot type of cameras, pixels are the way to go, and this phone, along with the pixel 5, does have the best cameras you can get on a smartphone right now. Video is great. Pictures are great. Performance on here is perfect as well.

Build is a plastic build, but still feels good in the hands and still feels premium. It's a good size, but not too big and not too small. I think it's a nice little sweet spot as far as size goes and being comfortable to hold in the hand. So we're going to talk about this device. How well it's held up, go over some specs and everything like that, but before we do subscribe and click that bell icon, I really appreciate it.

So, let's jump down into it. So really, really nice device. It is made out of gorilla glass 3 on the front, with a plastic unibody design weighs about 5.93 ounces. So it's not heavy. It's a very, very light feeling phone.

The display is going to be a 6.2 inch, uh OLED display it does support HDR uh. It is a resolution of 1080 by 2340, and it has that 19 by 5 9 aspect ratios, 413, pixels per inch, so really, really nice display on here. You cannot go wrong. It is an AMOLED, so the blacks are going to look really. Nice colors on here are really, really good as well.

You do have a lot of options to uh adjust the display. When you go into your display settings, you do have natural boosted and adaptive on there. So really, really nice that you can't do that. It does get bright enough outdoors, so no problem uh reading it outside, and it is like, I said, covered in corning gorilla, glass, 3, and you do have the always on display as well, now keep in mind uh when you first get the pixel 485 g and when you buy it now it's going to be running android, 11. Uh.

This device right now is running android 12 beta 2, just because I did not want to have to flash the android 11 back and have it wipe my device just for the sake of this video. So uh keep that in mind that this software is going to be different from the one you buy. But when you do get it, it's going to be running android, 11. , uh, Qualcomm, snapdragon, 750, 765 g on here. So really, really nice.

You get, I believe it is uh, six gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of internal storage, no micro, SD card uh, expandable on here, UFS, 2.1 storage. At that you get an arena 620. So it is going to be able to handle your games on here. Just fine uh this phone as far as performance goes, has been doing really. Well.

There is no high refresh display on here, so it is only a 60 hertz panel, but still colors. Everything looks really nice performance on here, a little of stutters sometimes but nothing's too serious or nothing to cry home about performance on the pixel.4A has been really, really good and I really love using this device. Yes, it's only a 60 hertz display. I prefer a higher refresh rate, but still it is not that bad, and it still is a really pleasant experience using the 4a5g. As far as cameras go, you can only get two of them on the rear.

You get a 12 megapixel wide main sensor, f 1.7, and you also get a 16 megapixel ultra-wide with an aperture of f 2.2. The front facing camera is going to be an 8 megapixel camera aperture, f 2.0. You can record 4k 30 60 1080p 360 120 to on the rear front facing camera. You could only record 1080p 30 frames per second, but still video on here comes out really, really nice. I like using the pixel to do videos for YouTube just because the colors and the video just looks so saturated and just really, really nice.

When you're doing video on here and taking pictures, excellent camera for point and shoot, you don't have to mess with anything, you just open up the camera and then snap a picture, and then you're done and everything just is really nice with Google's processing. The pictures on here come out really nice. Google's processing is just amazing, like there is no other camera that can beat the pixel they just take really, really nice shots you'll be seeing some pictures flash on your screen along with some video samples. So let's go ahead and jump into some video samples. Now keep in mind that I was not able to take too long video just because it is hot as hell outside and the uh phone kept overheating.

So I'm working with what I got here guys. So, let's go ahead and check out some video footage taken on the pixel 4 a5g pixel 4 a5g still has some of the best cameras you can get on a smartphone today, even in 2021, this phone was released last year and yeah. The cameras on here are still really, really good. No surprise there. It is a pixel.

This is a front-facing camera, cap's at a 1080p 30 frames per second, but still check out the quality. How does that look? It's blowing out the sky, but yeah cameras on here are still really, really good. Uh video quality on the front face camera is pretty good. It's not the best in the world, but still it gets the job done, and it's still really, really nice, especially for a phone at this price range.400.4.99, is what this phone runs at. So really, really good cameras on here.

Let's continue with the video. Shall we all right? So this is rear facing camera.4K 60 frames per second stabilization is off, but it's still pretty stable. You can zoom in a little go back out all right. Let's try this out again.4K 60 frames per second Pixel 4a 5g 4k 60 frames per second all right, so one downside of the pixel 4 a5g, just like on the OnePlus 9 pro uh. It won't let you record video when the camera gets too warm and that's the case.

That's going on right now, I'm trying to record video for this video for this review, and it's not letting me do rear-facing camera only front-facing camera, as you can see right here. So that is definitely a bummer. Keep that in mind when a device gets too warm, it won't record, and it is pretty hot out here, so I'll- give it that, but still very annoying, and keep that in mind that you cannot record video. I was able to take- maybe not even a minutes worth of video, and then it stopped saying it was too hot. So let's continue with the video.

Shall we so yeah? As you can see, video and pictures look really, really nice on here. You do get stereo speakers along here, no Dolby, Atmos or anything like that on the pixel 4 a5g, but still the stereo speakers sound, really, really good on here. No complaints they're allowed, and they definitely get the job done. If you want something a little louder, maybe go with the galaxy s21 or OnePlus 9 pro. But speakers on here will do the job, and they sound really nice and clear, and you will not be disappointed with the speaker, quality on the Google, pixel 4, a5g and, of course, again we're going to take a little of an audio sample.

Just to give you guys an idea of how to speak. Your sound on here coming right up over here, uh, so yeah, as you can tell the speakers on here, sound really, really good uh. As far as other little specs here and there, you do get Bluetooth 5.0 on here, so really, really nice audio. When you get really nice audio when using Bluetooth and um as far as us bit does have an USB type-c at the bottom fingerprint sensor on here is really nice and quick. Like one of the fastest, I definitely do like it being on the back.

I know it's a bit old school, but the fingerprint sensor on the back is definitely the thing to do either back here. If you're going to have a capacitive fingerprint sensor, put it on the back or on the power button, either way uh. They do work really well on here. It is fast, as you can see, just barely tapping my finger on there, and it unlocks the device very, very nice. You also have some gestures to uh, swipe down on your notification panel when you swipe down on the fingerprint sensor.

So really, really nice uh, like I said before this device, is running android 11, but right now this is one of the few few devices which is another reason to get a pixel for a 5g. This is the one of the few devices that you are able to flash android 12 beta on here, and everything works for the most part on here, except for a couple of um app crashes here and there, but the camera works. Everything works, just fine, uh security on here is great. This is the beta 2 and, like I said earlier, I did not want to have to flash android 11 for the sake of this video and have it wipe my device and start all over. So hopefully you guys could put up with the beta being on here, but still either way, you're going to get excellent stock.

Google software on the Google Pixel 4 a5g, and it definitely is really, really fast and really fluid and just very responsive, like google, does make really, really nice smartphones and the pixel 4 a5g is no slouch as far as battery goes. You get a 38 85 William hour. Battery life on here is pretty good. It can get me through a four an eight-hour day at work, not a four hour. I wish I had four-hour days at work eight-hour day at work and no problems.

I leave work with about, maybe forty percent left on here and that's with streaming music all night. You know, listen to audible and things like that watching a couple videos. The battery life on here is really great. You get 18 watt charging in the box. You get a charger in the box, so no issues there.

No wireless charging, unfortunately uh really not that big of a deal, but still no wireless charging on the Pixel 4a 5g, so other than that performance. Great check, mark uh the cameras, excellent check that off build quality uh. It is a plastic device, but still excellent. Build quality feels nice check that off it only it does only come in one color, which is the black, and that is unfortunate. I wish they would have released a little more fun, colors sort of like a green or blue.

That would have been nice on the 485 g, but you only get the just black on the Google Pixel 4 a5g, but still really, really nice device. Cameras on here, of course, are excellent, and you do get your cut-out on the front, which is a little bigger than most other phones, but still it does not get in the way at all. Now. Performance on here has been great android 11. Of course, stock android is really, really good on.

Here is very smooth, and even though this device does not have a high refresh display, it's still an excellent panel, and it still looks really, really good performance on here- really, really good. It's not the fastest phone in the world, but still it will get the job done and, as far as you know, social media and playing your games, you won't have any problems doing that on this processor, it's still a very capable phone and a very capable processor. The GPU is still very capable as well on here plenty of ram uh pixels in back in the day, used to come with four gigabytes of ram. Now you get six and the Google Pixel six will probably come out with eight or twelve so enough ram and enough storage. Now you don't get a micro SD card expansion, so that is a downer on here.

I love having a micro SD card, but you do not get one other thing to think about when you're picking up the Google Pixel, 4 a5g, but still excellent device, even in 2021 cameras, you can't get any better than this excellent point and shoot type of camera definitely check it out. You could probably get this device on really, really good deals right now, and they probably will be going down lower, especially since the Google Pixel 6 will be coming out soon, so this device will probably go even lower in price and definitely try to pick this up. If you can uh try to pay 400 and under don't go anywhere over 500 dollars for this device. That is not a good deal, definitely 400 and under excellent deal for this device. You get a lot for your money.

Very simple, very clean software, very clean and easy to manage hardware on here as well, no glass to worry about breaking other. So yeah, you get a lot with the Google Pixel 4a 5g. This phone is really, really nice, one of the few phones that has a headphone jack, which is just insane. You do get a headphone jack on here. Audio on here isn't the greatest, but it's still perfect.

If you want to plug this into your car- and that is really nice, of course the speakers are really great on here as well, so really, really great phone really great software. So let's go ahead and do a walk around on here. Shall we so on the rear? You get your fingerprint sensor. You do get your camera bump out here, which is your little stove type camera with your flash and mic. Furthermore, you do get your Google logo at the bottom buttons on here.

I wish they were swapped around like I wish. The volume button was up top and the power was at the bottom. I do get these confused a lot on the bottom. You get your USB type c microphone and your speaker. On the left hand, side you get your sim tray, and that is all you get over here.

Up top, you get your headphone jack and you get another mic. So really, really nice phone. The bezels on here are a little bigger, but not too bad. You definitely can tell this is a mid-ranger phone, but still, nevertheless, it's still really nicely built, and it feels really nice in the hand. The back is soft and nice and yeah.

This phone just feels really nice, so excellent device to pick up in 2021. I definitely recommend that you pick this up in 2021. It's definitely a good buy. If you can get this device for under 400, definitely a good buy. If you don't want to spend that extra cash and get the Google Pixel 6, that's coming out pick up the Google Pixel 4a 5g, and you will.

You will not be disappointed with this device. Excellent point and shoot camera great video really nice display excellent, build. It is nice and compact and yeah this phone just really, really nice, especially in 2021. So with that being said, guys hope you enjoyed.
