All right we've got the Google Pixel four-in-hand, let's, let's get into it all right so pixel for and for Excel in the house, and the biggest feature that everybody's talking about and what we really want to check out for ourselves is night sight. So that's what this shoot is all about food. This looks like we're shooting for NASA what up NASA now before we go out and shoot tonight. There is a few pieces of gear that are crucial for shooting good night photos. So here's what we're using first up and most important you're going to need a tripod. A tripod is three little sticks that hold up your phone or your camera.
Second, a phone mount. This thing hold your phone snug to that tripod. Third, we're going to use the moment, Bluetooth shutter remote by using a Bluetooth remote. You don't introduce any shake when you touch the screen of your phone. Fourth, we're going to be using a moment photo case with some of our lenses to really enhance that field of view and fifth, a makeshift rain cover all right.
So all that gear ?, the plastic grocery sack which you can conveniently find at your local grocery store it's on sale right now on our website, which is linked below we're running all that 20% off more than what we just showed, but all our tripods mounts: Bluetooth, shutter, remote pixel for case yeah check it out, link below so now. Let's go actually shoot and get this video started. So I, don't know if we're going to get any macrophotography, maybe we're gonna break in the weather, but chances are looking at. My phone's forecast looks pretty rainy, well, we're still going to send it send and yeah anyways John. If you haven't been on the video as much what I'm going to send it John writes for a moment.
Current legendary photographer friend he's out here helping us tonight. So let's go shoot and Hank Oh Hank. You got an Instagram right. Oh, yeah looks sick just on the screen. Yeah, that looks solid.
All right. It's pretty windy out here kind of stormy, but we are getting some insane results. There are cool clouds! We got the ambient lights of the city, I, don't know! If you can hear me right now, but pixel for nitrite, first impressions, whoa portrait mode on dogs, much better than the iPhone I mean I, don't think you'll be able to tell this is the iPhone right here? Pixel four and you can kind of see the difference. Pixel for at least from us looking at these screens definitely has an advantage. Also, our Fanny slingback excellent companion for doing these shoots because I just throw out the phone in here phone in there we got moment lens pocket right there on top, and you're set.
Where do I go? Probably up here, I, don't know night mode or night site portrait mode on dogs all things they talked about in the keynote and so far all on the go.4K 30 Drive test that night stabilization nice today waters it's an episode of cops yeah. Alright, we are here at location number, two at gasworks Park in Seattle, and if there's noise behind me that you can hear I, think there's like some frat party happening anyways. We are out here. We're going to shoot pixel four with some moment gear. Furthermore, we got the case.
Furthermore, we're going to shoot with the wide lens, hopefully get some stars. It's been super windy, so the clouds have actually been moving, so we'll see what we can get here, but uh Andrew setting up the shot John's currently holding this light for me connected in a moment remote. It's literally going. We get stars, um, there's a star. We got the stars, we got the stars, I think we got like one star.
Oh, it says looking for the Milky Way. This is a two-minute photo all right, quick update. This photo has been going on for two minutes. There's indication on the screen that it says. Looking for Milky Way 20 seconds left, it literally looks like something you would capture on like a DSLR in this scenario.
So with long exposures, when you touch the screen or your camera, it's going to have a little shake in there. You don't want that with only exposures, because the more shake you have and more blurry it will be. So when you use the Bluetooth remote, it's your, not touching it, it's purely Bluetooth, so you click the shutter, and then it goes on the home screen now. But you click the button, it fires, and you don't touch it, there's no shake, and this just will make it more sharper. We noticed that when we added our 58 over the main wide lens, it produced a slightly sharper image than pixel force, built-in 2x lens in nitrite mode.
So that's one thing to note. Another big learning is that if you do want to shoot with the 58 in night sight mode on the 2x lens, what you have to do is actually first take the lens off, basically what's happening. If you don't do that so say, for instance, it's on the wide right now, the normal lens. You add our 2x lens over the back. You add the 58 over the 2x lens.
It goes to black. Even if you double tap it doesn't know, it thinks it's yeah. It just doesn't work what's interesting about. That, though, is take it off doubles tap. So it's on the 2x lens right now, then you add the lens, and you're good to go for a 4x night mode, shot night sight shot.
Look at that! That's really impressive! Yeah I mean, like clouds, are sharp. Oh, oh, no squeeze assist. The city is a bit blown out by the lights, but you guys are late. Alright, this segment is gonna, be iPhone, 11, Pro max versus pixel, for Excel, just in nitrite mode and in night mode. We're going to set the phones up right next to each other and take the same image on the tripod set up here, just to see like a quick comparison to see how these handle the exact same shot.
So, let's check out the results yeah down here, where there's no ambient light in the foreground. So it's not compensating for that. So one thing we've noticed on pixel for a night site is that it randomly decides when it wants to shoot a much longer exposure like it will go upwards of a minute to two minutes, but in other times I mean I, know it's probably based on the like light sensitivity, but I wish there was a way to control that because sometimes you'll just press go trigger the remote or whatever, and it will just start counting down from two minutes. It looks perfect, but it's just weird, so maybe a third-party app, maybe the moment app, will support that in the future. Once we build out some nights, I feature anyway.
It's just an observation, yeah good observation, thanks, dude yeah nice side. This is the real way to utilize. Would you promote selfie? Let me get in one alright, so that wraps it up here, the crew does a fun shoot, it's pretty late, pretty cold, but a pixel for night sight, amazing. That is definitely my conclusion here and then with moment gear. Getting those different field of view the wide or the tell also amazing, so check it out, link below we're running 20% off tripods right now, limited time, if you're watching this later sorry and then pixel for cases for a moment and yeah Bluetooth from a bunch of cool stuff, so check it out.
Thanks for watching we'll do some more videos. Later nice, Dyke night psych.
