So for the last couple of days, the Google Pixel 3a has been gathering a lot of attention and obviously, for the good reasons, the same great pixels, free cameras for some half the price, sweet right, but hold your horses, don't buy it just yet. Why? Let's start with the same cameras on both there's, actually a slight difference. The camera hardware is the same. It's the same. Sony I am x36 three sensors and has Google's all powerful photography computing. However, the image processing on the 3a is a tad bit slower, comparing it with the pixel 3.
The Pixel 3a takes some two seconds more to process the image and give the final output. That is because it lacks the pixel visual core camera, which is a dedicated image processor on higher-end 6 of devices, so the pixel 3/8 depends solely on the ISP or the image signal processor of the chipset, in this case the spectra 250 due to which it takes a longer time to produce the final output still compared to the Huawei P30 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S 10, plus the cameras outshine both because well, who are we kidding? It's the same camera sensor and the same camera software. Apart from that tiny detail, of course, plus you get Google's full-fledged Night side feature on this device still. Needless to say, the camera on this one is absolutely amazing. You just have to live with a slower processing.
The front camera, however, has been toned down. It is now an 8 megapixel sensor which still produces good images. As for videos, you get both CIS and OAS support, so the videos are definitely going to be very stable. Here, too, you will have to live with the slower processing. What's great, here is the software being Google's devices they run on the latest version of Android pi, not to forget they will get the latest software updates and security patches till October 2021.
Now this lay on these differ from pixel 3 devices to the 3, a has a 5 point, 6 inches display and the 3a Excel has a bigger 6 inch display. However, what's different here is the display panels. The pixels feel devices came with PIO LED screens, which meant plastic OLED screens, but this timer they've gone for Geo, LED screens and as much as I'd like to know what geography that really means. Google has not really specified what she all it stands for, but whatever that may mean the display with Full HD plus resolution still looks sharp and vibrant, although it comes with a less-popular dragon tail clasp protection on top. However, despite the good displays, Google did not seem to care enough to reduce the bezels on these.
It still rocks the old-school design at a time when water drop notches or punch hole displays are the trend in this crowd. It looks like a phone straight out of 2017, but then again maybe Google wanted to differentiate it from the others, and since this is Auto Don version of the pixel 3, maybe they did not want to deviate from the signature design. Well, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt in this one. Also, on the design front, it goes fully polycarbonate from the glass back, but for the price, a plastic body seems a bit too less another step down. Here is the performance, this phone packs in the snapdragon 670 chipsets, which is a decent performer, but competitors in the similar price range are offering more powerful chip sets like the Poco phone f1, the Rio meat-free Pro and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 pro.
So maybe this should have gone for the Snapdragon 730 or the Snapdragon 675 again. Another letdown to me is the storage. Yes, you get 64gb of it, but no expandable option and 64gb in 2019 feels like the bare minimum. Also, you don't get any other variants with larger storage. What's even more disappointing is that you cannot store your original images in the unlimited storage, only a high-quality version of it.
So there's that, while we're still talking about letdowns the battery, isn't that great either the Pixel 3a has a 3000 mAh battery and the pixel VA XL gets a 3700 mAh battery, although it is bigger than what we saw in the pixel 3 and pixel 3 XL. It isn't that great when compared to Samsung or view me or read, limit Rangers, so the endurance takes a hit ? with all these I can't really say that these are good phones. Actually they do. You seem good, it's just that the competition is better. Of course, the camera prowess is unmatched, but the price is too for the starting price of three hundred and ninety-nine dollars in the u.
s. It might seem like a good deal, but the price is not same in every country and if you look at the price in India, it costs you forty thousand and forty-five thousand Indian rupees respectively, for which you can get the upcoming OnePlus flagships with fancy and designs, bigger displays and better processors, and not to mention phones like the Redmi Note, 7 pro and the real meat-free pro come for half the price. Moreover, other phones like the Realme X and the Redmi key 20 pro, are also launching very soon, so I would rather wait for those phones. What Google's selling, however, is the brand name, those crisp stock, Android software updates and the cameras of course, but still for the price. The pixel three a and three AXL, don't look all that appealing to me.
So in the end, it all comes down to what you prefer if you want standout Google device, and you can't really go wrong with them. But if you're looking for value for money, I think there is plenty of fish in the sea.
