Google Pixel 2 Super Review

This is a super reveal of the Google Pixel -. There's no way I can screw up that name. Alright, so one day, I will tell you the story about how I came to order and buy-in this pixel -. It's way too long and way too terrible. But one day I will tell you how I bought this pixel ?, but anyway, I have a pixel, ? I'm, going to open it up, and I'm going to give you my first impressions of it. You know, I have currently an iPhone 6 and I like the iPhone 6 I've, always been an iPhone guy I had an iPhone 4 I had an iPhone, 5 and iPhone 6 and I didn't think.

I was gonna, be buying a new phone this year, but Apple's kind of screwed, the pooch, the latest version of iOS 11. It's got some awful problems, including Bluetooth, just doesn't really work on my phone. It's been big enough, an issue that I've been driven to the Google Pixel -. Now the Google Pixel phones have always appealed to me, including the Nexus phones that preceded them. You know some people might ask: why didn't you get the Google Pixel to excel and for me that's two reasons.

Maybe three reasons reason number one is. This is 200 bucks, cheaper, and I'm kind of cheap reason. Number two is I, don't actually like the bigger screen I like the smaller screen. The size of the iPhone 6 is a pretty good size for me. In fact, I really like the iPhone 5 size, but if I'm going to give it a phone I, don't really want it to be any bigger than the iPhone 6 and so the pixel ? it seemed like it was about the right size.

For me. The third reason is that well I've heard I've, you know read a bunch of different reports about issues with the screen on the pixel 2 XL I haven't heard any issues with the screen on the regular pixel -. As a photographer, that's really important to me. I want a screen. That's going to faithfully recreate the photos that I'm taking and editing you know.

I spent a lot of time, color correcting the photos and making sure that they look exactly the way. I wanted them to if I have a phone that can't show them that way, that's going to be pretty frustrating. So my hope is that the screen on the pixel ?, not Excel, is not going to leave anything to be desired. So without any further ado. Let's open up this box.

So it's nice to see that this phone comes in a box that is well, can I, say it's its pretty! It's pretty Apple is, there's very little on the outside of the box. It says: hashtag team, pixel, I, don't know what that means. Furthermore, it's got. Google Assistant, built-in, okay, I, don't actually really care about Google Assistant. What I care about is having a phone with Bluetooth that works, and you might see I've got the kind of blue color kinda blue kind of blue.

It's one of those two. It is kind of a grayish bluish color. That is unique and that's why it appeals to me: let's see what else we got inside this box. This is a very Apple style unboxing and that's not a bad all right. So it comes with an adapter for a regular USB to USB, see I.

Actually, don't know what I'm going to be using this for it's interesting that that is right here on the top of the packaging, because I have no idea. Why I need that? Why do I need this, and then this last bit is a headphone port adapter, like basically every phone nowadays, there is no headphone port on the Google Pixel, but it does have a dongle for USB-C to headphone Hey gonna? Take that all right, so I've gotten through the entire box and I still don't know exactly what I need this for and now here we've got the pixel 2. So let's see first impressions of this hardware is it feels pretty nice in the hand it feels like it's about the same size as my iPhone 6, the back of it is kind of a matte plastic, but it feels a little cool to touch kind of like a metal phone. From what I understand the construction is metal underneath with the plastic on the outside I'm, not entirely sure why they did that, but it does let them make it this nice kind of blue color. So that's cool I got this weird green power button, which okay got front-facing speakers, which is that's actually kind of exciting.

Coming from an iPhone, my iPhones always had speakers pointing at my crotch I. Think it's much nicer to have speakers that are pointing at my face because that's where my ears are seen the button click Enos mm-hmm, the power button, click Enos is pretty good I feel like the volume rocker. It requires a little of extra effort to click on those, then I would want, and I feel, like. It's going to be really hard for me to feel these in my pocket and be able to adjust the volume go ahead and power, this bad boy on and see if I can get any first impressions. While this thing's setting up I'll do a little comparison with my iPhone 6, which again this is the phone I, have right now before the Google Pixel, and I'm pretty happy with this phone before iOS 11 iOS 11 has made this phone suck, and so I've got a Google Pixel to the Google.

Pixel is actually a little bigger than my iPhone in the hand. I think this feels actually I kind of prefer this. This is a perfect form factor. It's kind of a shame that apples ruined my phone with their latest iOS update. So compared to my iPhone 6, it's a little bigger weight is pretty similar.

The overall build quality feels pretty comparable between the two phones. I do appreciate that the pixel has got the front-facing speakers. The screen size is a little bigger as well, which I guess it's good that if at least is the phone's going to be bigger at least the screen is also a little bigger the buttons. The buttons are better on the iPhone, sorry yeah, the volume rocker on this I'm really not happy with that that's kind of crappy if I were to review the Google Pixel to at this point and I got it. That's what the that's! What this channel is all about.

It's all about superficial reviews. If I were to give this a nice superficial review, I would give it at this point. I'm going to say I'm gonna, give it four out of five, and I would have given my iPhone 6, a five out of five just based on form factor except the Apple ruined it. Apple has not ruined this pixel too yet so my hope is that this will actually end up working out better. For me, you know the external, the form factor not quite as good as the iPhone 6, but it's also not very far behind so yeah and that color is really nice.

So yeah four out of five I'll, give the pixel to four out of five. If you're interested in checking out an Amazon I got a link down below, there might be some good deals on it right now. Verizon has a pretty good deal on it, which is what how I got this, but I might not actually encourage you to go to very eyes because of the aforementioned story. The the effort that it took for me to buy this phone kind of unbelievable I can't tell you about it right now, but anyway, that is the Google Pixel to.
