Gionee Elife S5.1 Unboxing

Hey guys this is Bharadwaj with foreigner calm, and this is the gone Life s 5.1 that we have here. So this is Jo knees, the thinnest device. Yet after the previous effort, that was the EF s 5.5, with which they had turned some heads at the Mobile World Congress, including us, but this is the successor being launched in the Indian market. It was just launched today for a price of rupees, $180009.99. So for 19 thousand rupees, you get one of the world's thinnest devices, because this is not the thinnest one. The OPPO r5 recently unveiled along with the OPPO flagship device, is the thinnest one at four point: eight five millimeters, but it doesn't have a 3.5 mm audio jack. While this has so anyway.

The thinness is the only thing to talk about in this device, because otherwise it's a mid-range device, nothing much extra in the offering. But yes, it is really thin and makes a style statement just like the 5.5. So let's go ahead and unbox this and see what the box contents are like and, of course, the phone -. So, let's straight away unbox the phone and then take a look at the specs, so the Box has been slightly damaged by the courier guys, but that's alright I! Guess, let's take the four out and there you go. That's the phone right there on the top sitting with the flip cover.

The flip cover is by team. So that's the white flip cover that you get by default. I think it's cool that they give by default, because the phone is really thin, and you can see how thin it is. So this is the Life s 5.1 in gold, champagne, color. It looks very similar, the iPhone 6, but let's take a look at the other box contents quickly and then come back to the phone.

So you have other things, including, so you get the in-ear earphones, the microUSB cable, the Indian plug for USB charging, and then you have a lot of accessories. The sim ejector tool, the scratchcards the silicon case. In case you don't want the flip cover, and then you have a USB OTG cable, that's the USB, OTG cable, and then you have the bunch of booklets. So that's all for the Box contents of the EFS 5.1 lot in fact do check out our unboxing post for the detailed lowdown on the box contents. But let's focus on the phone here.

So this is the phone. The Life s5 point one five point: one five millimeters of thickness, and this is how it compares with the iPhone 6, so both having a very similar color scheme. You can see that both are very close. It looks even at the front. You can see both have a very similar arrangement of the cameras here or at the top, and also the earpiece little of similarity I guess not too similar, and then this is the right side.

The iPhone 6 is actually six point: nine millimeters thick and the Life S 5.1 is 5.1 millimeters thick. You can't see much difference, though it's just one point: eight millimeters, but yeah. This is the difference that you see so now back to the phone. Let's quickly go through the specs here. As note on the highlights on the screen, so 5.1 5 mm ultra slim, as I said, there is DTS sound support. The camera is 8 megapixels over the back and five megapixels at the front ultra wide-angle front facing camera.

The corning glass protection here is third-generation front as well as back, and then there is a four point: eight-inch HD AMOLED screen that 720p, you have an outscore processor. One point sound giggles that the media six MediaTek. Then there is a 2050 mAh battery. So this comes off, and it's not part of the phone. Let's take that out.

So this is the e life s 5.1. Now, let's take a quick Hardware walk through of it display at the front three capacitive buttons at below the display, and you have the five megapixel front-facing camera earpiece and a couple of sensors. Hopefully a notification LED light. We will take a look at that or at the right. You have the one SIM card slot and over at the left, you have the power button and the volume rocker up going to the top.

You have nothing and or at the bottom you have the 3.5 mm audio jack and the microUSB slot and the primary microphone going to the back. This is the 8 megapixel camera. Not gelling out of the phone, which is pretty cool, it's well in inside the limit, and then there is the LED flash and the secondary microphone here. So that's the glass back of the gone Life s 5.1. Now, let's power on the phone and see what the UI is like drums on android 4.4 Kitkat with the Amigo UI on top, it's not really the best software experience we have ever had, but the LFS point 5.5 was pretty fast. We expect the same in this because it runs on the same processor and then yeah.

This phone is actually really, really thin and even though you can't notice much, it is thin, so you don't have the beautifully shampoo edges of the last year's. In fact, this year's Life s 5.5, but this time you have a slightly curved finish, not sure from a fan of it, but many people would like it considering its similarities with the iPhone, and this is the display. Hopefully it should turn on. Yes, it does so. This is the display, and I'm going to quickly set up and come back to you and here's the phone completely set up.

This is the Amigo UI running on Android 4.4. You can check that out in the settings here going into the settings can see. This UI is slightly changed. Maybe a team applied to it or something that, but yes, this is the Android version that you get Android 4.4.2 and display is a gentile AMOLED display the thinnest display, possibly that they had to use for this phone? So yes, that's the amigo UI that you're looking at with Android 4.4.2, it's actually very fast. It's very optimized, unlike before even the LIFE seven used to lag with the Snapdragon 808, but this UI seems really, really fast and there are a lot of pre-installed apps here.

The UI is pretty basic. You get just a grid of apps, but yeah. That's about it!
