Galaxy Z Fold 3 & Z Flip 3 - BIG FAIL?

Well, sorry, if I'm a little skits, but I just had a blue razz, bang and well it's doing things internally, that probably aren't great um. But let's talk about the uh Samsung event and listen. I know uh the last few, several a lot. I know the videos have been about apple and uh. Well, the tomfoolery, that's ensuing, but let's focus on Samsung in this video and what they did and what I like and so obviously yeah. I know I'm late, but they uh released a bunch of new phones.

Well, at least they announced them right, the z flip 2 and the fold 3 and the galaxy watch a lot of stuff came out. So, lets I want to talk about overall, the reception or how people are covering this. You know it's like well. Is this the new note uh? What is Samsung doing these prices are insane, even though the z-flip kind of came to actually everything kind of came down in price, but still listen like two thousand dollars. Fifty hundred dollars, it's all expensive, let's just get that out of the way, but I'm gonna talk about this idea that seemingly some people think foldable aren't worth it because a particular brand isn't doing it, and I want to address that well because it doesn't make sense in the long run to not do what Samsung's doing right.

Now, I'm not saying this is going to be like they're, going to they're going to destroy apple in every sense of the word for everything. But this idea that, because it's its so expensive right or because it's unique to Samsung- and I know other companies are doing it, but in the in the states really Samsung's only one where you're getting where you're getting folding phones right, but it makes sense from a branding and marketing and just technological perspective, because here's the thing right, you want to be different, and I'm not just saying market differently. Obviously, everyone markets differently, but, like you, gotta offer something different and these days every slab glass, whatever like they're the kind of character list right. You don't really know I mean. I know you know right.

It's a notch: it's an iPhone hole, punch, probably Samsung, but I mean like: what's really making your device unique, that you can't get anywhere else for the most part, and it's its hardware and software sure right because people go, I can't get iMessage. Okay, I get that, but like it's, it's brilliant in a lot of ways when you, when you see someone unfold the phone like you notice it right, and your first question is: what is that, and it's like that's a Samsung phone. They make folding phones, yes like it's that kind of marketing to me. That makes a lot of sense, because your product is kind. You know apple people and it makes sense right.

The product stands on its own, or you know I don't need to. I don't need to like bash another brand. I know Samsung does that sometimes, but I don't. Furthermore, I don't have to bash another brand um, because we let our products speak for themselves and so in a world seemingly that is full of just slabs of glass and aluminum, and everyone's trying to convince you that their slab of glass and aluminum is better than the other slab of glass and aluminum. And really it's a software.

That's making the big. That's the x factor for most people right, android, Samsung, one UI iOS like that's where people are deciding on what to get, but this does add a cool element to it. And so I know people are like it's pointless, it's expensive, and I'm like listen. If you haven't seen the deals. Yes, the trade-ins are valued high at first and, as you add devices, you don't get as much as you maybe could on the black market, so to speak, but their entire model of how they roll these phones out.

It's pretty nice, especially if you're a massive Samsung fan where you buy stuff every year, every other year or whatever and uh it's its it's a little different, because people will go like apple. I can get you know: it'll hold its value for so long, and I'm like I get that and it, and its accurate right, but you don't really get a ton of deals up front. I know you can go, find a carrier dear deal and maybe get you know, buy an iPhone.12 mini, get one free, build credits, all the nonsense that carriers make you do you got to jump through more hoops than whales at sea world in the 90s did um, but you do get the ability to uh sell the device for more down the road. Okay, fair! It's a different strategy. I've talked about this before a while ago, Samsung they're, giving you 200 towards any accessory right.

That's a lot of money. That's that's not just like. I think we're becoming accustomed to them. Doing that and that's fine, but like they're pretty unique. In that sense, right uh, you get good trade and value.

I know after you add like a second third device, it's not as great but still they're, letting you trade in multiple devices which, if they're just collecting dust. This is more valuable. In that sense, um and overall you end up being able to get a phone with all these accessories and all these pre-order bonuses, it's a lot more doable. So like I don't I don't like the comparison if it's 1800 and then in a year, it'll be worthless. I'm like I understand where it comes from.

It's just coming from a place of ignorance, I'm just being honest, like you, gotta, think through that in a broader sense trading in what did you trade in? Did you get more than the trade it was worth? Probably, yes, did you get a trade in uh credit to 300, yes, like that all plays into the value and your return on the return and on, but I don't know why people look at these as investments, I'm being honest with you like it's an investment from a productivity standpoint right if you use this as a tool with this idea that you're buying this thing and hoping it appreciates in value no like no one's doing that outside. Like the tech enthusiast right, I got to roll the dice on this hardware and I hope that if I don't like it, I don't take a massive loss. That's not how people buy phones, they just go. I want to upgrade what's the cheapest one for the most part, but let's actually talk about the phones, okay, setting all the specs aside. I think it's crazy what they're doing like I just got to take a second and go.

This is crazy, and I know a lot of people that haven't used. The foldable are always like, I'm that, guy that you know on this channel, you can go see the videos I'm the guy. That's like I don't know man. This is like it's cool, I'm willing to admit it's cool, but is it something that you could use day to day? And I was wrong right. It is definitely cool.

Now I will say this price and durability is certainly going to be a thing for people they're going to be a little more tepid. I don't know this is kind of expensive, but as they're able to refine this thing. As they're able to add like they did this year, like water resistance, make it more durable right, all of those things make the screen more durable. Now, they've added the s pen, which is really freaking cool, like they've done all these things like this thing's, going to be solid before any other company comes out with a foldable they're going to have years and years of refinement- and I have to be honest, this kind of, like you know, on both sides of the know. Oh, I think it's pointless, or I think it's great.

It kind of reminds me of the note right. I don't remember. That's like most tech, mainstream tech journals right, not some person in a basement or whatever I'm in um, but like seeing that like massive, like companies or editorials or tech, whatever they're called they made fun of them like it's like carrying a toaster who's. Going to want this blah blah blah the s. Pen is kind of cool, but I don't see they literally like it's.

The fold is literally falling into that same thing. Who's going to want this. It's so big! It's bulky! Furthermore, it's this and that this is like the same rhetoric that we heard about the note and look at the note: don't look this year because there wasn't one rip, but hopefully next year, um. Now, let's talk about that too, and I know I'm all over the place, but I told you in the beginning I had to bang my energy drink, I'm all over the place. I wanted to get my thoughts out.

I'm talking about and a lot of these thoughts apply to the flip right, which is a thousand bucks which is a pretty good price um and by the way, I think, T-Mobile's doing like a buy one, get one via bill credit. So that's pretty cool uh, but overall it's one of those things where I'm like. I have to laugh because I bet you in a few years. It's going to be just like the note was where it's the thing. Everyone else is trying to emulate: right, you're, going to you're going to get bigger phones from other companies, you're going to get phones that are supporting a styli or styluses, whatever the plural of s pen, I s pens.

Whatever they're going to make that right, um, and so I think, Samsung's smart here and the amount of like productivity features built in to Samsung's phones combined with the s pen is like unbelievable. I can't even talk about them all, because I got to read up on them and speaking of which I pre-ordered one, but they canceled it. So I just had to pre-order again, and hopefully this one doesn't cancel Samsung get it together. It's not really Samsung. I think they use a company called direct something river.

I don't know it's like a third-party company here in the US for all their e-merchandising and e-commerce, whatever um, but it is really impressive. So you know you. Let me know how you feel down below about the folding phones. I just think people are kind of missing the mark where it's definitely marketing right it. The device itself is doing its selling itself right now.

Are people going to see that and go yeah? I want to go drop two grand, maybe not, but the point is like you want a folding phone in the US a thousand bucks. You can get one from Samsung. That's a big deal right. That is a big deal um. I understand, there's a there's a deeper conversation there, but it's still impressive and look at the galaxy watch.

Let's talk about that for a little. Um! I'm excited because for years I think we've all kind of wanted like Wear OS and I didn't think, like ti zen merged. But this idea it's like hey, I want to. I have a Samsung phone. I want a Samsung watch makes sense, but I don't want to give up some Google integration, even though you still kind of did right if you're like me, you're, like I'm, still going to go, get it, but I do want that Guinness built in and well now you can get that, and so I'm not sure how to perform.

Furthermore, I guarantee it's going to be pretty good, though Samsung makes solid hardware. It makes sense that you know google's like hey. You wanna, you want to do this, but that's because we can't apparently um. So I'm looking forward to that. I know they have a lot of health features.

It can measure your bodies. Listen, that's terrifying! I'm scared to put that thing on because it's like, oh just gonna, have a laughing emoji. Well, you just get off the scale, it'll be like a heavyweight. If you've seen that movie, that's a good movie um but in all seriousness a lot of health features which are great right. I don't care what brand it is.

The more health features we can get in this tech and the more every company maybe steals that idea or implements this strategy whatever that's great for everyone, because health is important and listen if you're not alive. None of this matters you can there's no folding phone. That's you don't need a folding phone uh, so it is cool that uh that they're leaning into health features. It's really nice to see that there 's's a lot of potential here, we'll see how this works, but I'm excited to see this and the price again, like Samsung watches, I always feel like there are rumors, that they're going to be priced really expensive, and they're. Really not.

You know yeah when you get the LTE models, and you get the fancier finishes. It can get pricey, but still there's always decent sales, and even here you can trade in different watches and get credit towards it. Like it's, it's nice, it's a nice setup, and then we have the headphones right here, the headsets, the Galaxy Buds um. They look good at a distance, I think from max Weinberg's rumors and- and he was pretty spot on- that- it's like almost as good as the Galaxy Buds pro. Is it two I can't even keep up whatever the recent Galaxy Buds pro are he's like their kind of that, just a little like attenuated as far as like features and noise cancellation and all that stuff.

So they look solid too, and you get all the normal Samsung stuff right. You get the reverse wireless charger. You get everything except for charger in the box, but listen everyone's getting rid of that. I'm not saying it's an excuse. I think they should put it in there, but uh well, they're.

Not so I can't really complain about it, because it's not going to do anything about it, but I can bring up that. I wish it did so. I guess I am complaining about it, which makes my earlier statement irrelevant to now um. But this stuff does look solid. You know it looks really solid.

I think every year we're seeing this refinement and I know people are like expecting leaps and bounds and in a folding phone they want more changes. I'm like what do you want a buy trifold wallet at this point, a money clip phone um, but it does look nice. You. Let me know what you guys think below. I just want to get a video out.

Listen! It's been a few days weeks. Whatever I want to get a video out there going over my thoughts and uh. Listen, I don't care about the specs. I know people are going to the snapdragon 88 12 gigs, around 256 storage, blah blah. You guys know all that stuff, I'm looking at this at a distance right now, because I don't have one yet uh and on the side, I really don't like the idea of waiting.

I'm like the most imp, I'm a toddler when it comes. I want it now, it's my money and I need it now. Some people don't even know what that is. I uh I wish we could order those and like to get them the next day like Amazon. This thing, you know how you know, I'm saying 2 to 6 pm, I'm like yep, bring it here um, but I'm trying to get my hands on one.

This stuff's, expensive man, you know on YouTube, need to listen pennies um, but you know I'm excited to uh to play with this thing and fold it up and uh you. Let me know how you feel below, but uh. Well, that's it! For me. Those are my thoughts and opinions. You let me know how you feel down below peace.
