One Plus 9 vs Galaxy S21 Speed Test! - How Fast is the Regular One Plus 9? By IBKade

Hey guys welcome to IBM. Today we have a speed test here for you between the OnePlus 9 and the galaxy s21. Now I think this is a just perfect like comparison, because the OnePlus 9 has an OnePlus 9 pro line and, as you guys know, the galaxy s21 has the ultra line. So this is kind of the base model, yet they still rock the snapdragon 888, and it's superfast same amount of ram and everything should be super neck and neck from before. Even starting this, that's how I feel- and I think this is going to be a good comparison. So if you guys are looking for the based uh OnePlus 9 versus the base galaxy s21 series, this is the speed test for you.

Let's get started now before I begin I'd like to say that I've updated the OnePlus 9 three times already. Was it three? I think two times already it came out with two updates, so it should be in the latest update and, of course, the s21 has been updated as well, so we'll see what the results are and then, let's get started by the way. On the background, we got the Hasselblad. That is basically the big partnership that OnePlus 9 has this year with the camera, and that it is cool, looking box. That's why I put it right there for you and I think that the camera on that is awesome, but we'll put that in the review for the OnePlus 9 in another video for this one, let's get started with the speed test, all right, so, let's get started up with a cold start a little boot up now I got to put a little disclaimer here: the phone on the left.

The galaxy s21 is a T-Mobile phone, so there is a T-Mobile splash screen versus the OnePlus 9, which is unlocked, so it won't have it, but let's just see how much faster the OnePlus 9 boots up. Usually it's superfast there. It goes already finished so even with a splash screen. I'm sure the OnePlus 9 would have finished much faster and there it is the galaxy s21 T-Mobile splash screen still chugging along, whereas the OnePlus 9 is already done and resting so yeah, the OnePlus 9 startups has always been fast, and here again it shows that it's a champion when it comes to a cold boot up so good job, OnePlus 9 already winning. Let's get started with the fingerprint scanner all right.

So let's turn on the screens right here and let's go in one two three see equally pretty fast. I love these fingerprint scanners, both on the s21 and an OnePlus 9. Let's do that again, so what I'm saying is here, you have to tap to get it on and this one you're going to need to, but the OnePlus 9 needs to be on so there you go very fast, uh, very responsive and accurate on both no problem with these. I just wish you could turn on the fingerprint scanner on the OnePlus 9, without turning the screen on that would have been helpful. Okay, but the screen does get a little bright before it turns on all right.

So here are your usual apps here: let's get started with the speed test, so we're going to go ahead and get started with the basic phone dialer app one two three again, those are very simple. Apps opens up at the same time. Next we got the calculator. This should be pretty neck and neck yep, pretty nice neck. Tells you what it is.

It's a calculator. Next, our favorite app in the world YouTube one two three, oh a little faster on the left right here. Okay, so definitely we got left going pretty fast for YouTube. That was a little of a surprise, all right next, app that we're going to try is the most popular social media, app Instagram. So, let's see which one opens up faster.

I think it was a little slightly faster on the OnePlus 9, but it was pretty neck and neck. It's a draw, but if you want to compare the OnePlus 9 was slightly faster, and I'm noticing this with the OnePlus 9. Things are opening up a little faster when it comes to the internet. We'll see why later all right, let's go on alright! Next app, we got Google News, one of my favorite news, apps right there, all right there we go everything scrolls great, so we'll leave it right there, alright next, our foodie app yelp. That was quick.

That was quick on the OnePlus right. We're just going to go just let's see right here, open one up: okay, yeah! That is definitely quick on the one plus wow one plus nine, taking the cake noticeably fast surprised how fast that is all right hold on. Let me switch out this app right here. All right. I want to check out the play store on both phones instead, so I switched it out right here.

So yeah we'll do the play store. Next, oh what'd, you guys think pretty neck and neck right. Let's just see if we click on one game right here, yeah the galaxy has 21 a little faster there, all right lots of game just pick one right here again, the s21 feels faster. So it's interesting. You know it's going back and forth between the s21 and the OnePlus.

All right. Now we get to HBO Max. Let's see how this loads seems like there's an ad on the galaxy s 21 that just came up. Oh now, I loaded, but I think the OnePlus 9 was marginally faster. OnePlus 9 has been taken to cake when it comes to loading apps, especially when it's connected to the internet.

We'll do that again, this time that the ad should not show up. So, let's get it out of our memory and fire from fresh brand-new load right here and yep there we go again, so the OnePlus 9 is slightly faster. The first time around showed that, but this one shows it again and once it's loaded, it seems like everything, is similar neck and neck by the way. I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. Did anyone see it uh, don't tell me spoilers, but I'm excited all right.

Next, let's go to angry birds.2. We have a lead here on the OnePlus 9. Definitely going faster. There, you go one plus nine beat it all right. Okay, all right! Next, big game! Everyone does this one asphalt, nine! Let's go ahead! One two three! I can already see one plus nine leading yeah when it comes to performance of loading games.

OnePlus has always been fast. Oh, look at that here. It almost felt like it was going faster, but it loaded at the same time right that was interesting, all right, good job galaxy, all right, okay, so the next is PUBG mobile, and I got to do a disclaimer right here. I don't really like doing pub g mobile speed test, I'm thinking about taking it out just because there's so many ads that when you launch it, you don't know, what's going to come up on the screen, and it's not really fair. So, let's see if we get lucky here and see if both goes same to the start screen, but usually there's an app that comes up, and it's annoying.

So I'm going to take it out of the speed test in the future. But this is what I have for now. All right, okay, see, there's an ad right there, an ad right here. So these are the things that I'm talking about pretty annoying um I'd, say they're both neck and neck, just because the ads came up at the same time and of course, the game loaded, but that's the state of pub g every time I launch it. It has a stupid ad that comes up in the beginning, so it doesn't go straight to this homepage, which I like, but uh, that's the best I got I'd say they were both neck and neck uh.

We can try again if you guys want to see so just for entertainment purposes I'll. Do it one more time all right, one, two three, but these guys are not good speed tests, in my opinion, anymore, just too many things going on in this app all right see again, so we'll exhale this together, yeah, but you know, one thing we can tell is that the advertisements come up pretty much at the same time, so it's neck and neck as far as speed goes all right. Let's get out of that all right. Next we have power director, which is my favorite app for doing mobile video editing, and this usually does take a while to load up. Oh there, you go one plus nine already sealed deals all right, so always superfast one plus nine.

This isn't even the pro version, so we'll see how fast the pro version is in a different video. All right. Let's go to Yahoo Finance, oh definitely faster on the s21, so that loaded pretty fast, scrolls, very nice. Everything is fast when it comes to scrolling all right now it comes to the favorite part of my review, the Wi-Fi speed test they're both on the same network, and we're just going to see which one is faster. Usually the s21 has excellent Wi-Fi capability, so I wouldn't be surprised with this one, but the OnePlus is fast right.

So far the OnePlus has been superfast and everything. So who knows it might surprise us all right. Let's go in speed test all right loaded, pretty much the same. Do we have the same servers both Nate awesome, so we're both on the same network? All right, let's go this! This is always a surprising conclusion whenever I run this all right, so this one's at wow, look at that wow 97 and that's 400. The OnePlus is actually hogging the data wow, I'm surprised, so the download speed to 422 versus 193 right there and 231 upload versus 284 is a little faster on the galaxy s21 for upload uh.

That's surprising though I was. I was not expecting that okay, you know what let's switch it around and see what happens all right. Let's switch the sides just for fun. So now we have the s21 right here, so I'm just going to switch it up where we have the s21 right here and just make sure that location doesn't cause anything right, because that's too much of a discrepancy. So let's see what happens now, all right so no same scenario.

All right! This guy is definitely hogging all the bandwidth. So if you have an OnePlus 9 there, you go guys you're going to hog all your bandwidth in your house, especially if your other family members have galaxy phones, it's quite surprising, actually wow, and this time it just wins it both on the download and upload 400 versus 200 and 133 versus 201. I'm surprised, so now you know what let's do our second thing, where we just run it individually all by itself. So let's go alright. So by itself it's getting 400 13, which is still lower than this number, which is quite amazing, actually 232, so higher on the upload all right.

Let's see what happens when this one runs by itself by the way, as you guys can see the size of the phones uh, this one is a little bigger if you haven't caught up on that already. But it's I'd say it's a little same as far as you know, holding it feeling goes, but definitely a little bigger on the OnePlus 9. And just look at that 532 and 311. That's amazing! That's a huge upgrade over this and I don't know why it's the same router, it's actually not even on Wi-Fi 6. If I have y56, I wonder, what's going to happen in the future, but so far I am blown away by the speed of the OnePlus 9, Wi-Fi capabilities.

So maybe that's why they were loading the apps a little faster, all right, and we could test that by going to our browser. Now, let's put this back into normal position where they work all right. So that's how it was all right. So now, let's go to the internet browser which this is my favorite all right and then let's go to the verge one. Two three all right so see the galaxy s21 was a little faster there all right! Now, let's open up the first article same time, yep the galaxy s21 seems to have a load faster by the way guys when it scrolls uh, the galaxy s21 feels slightly faster than the OnePlus 9.

That's another thing: I've noticed while I was using it alright. So now let's go back. Okay, let's go to the second article, all right! So now, let's go back to the main page, diverge all right, very nice! Now we'll go to another page. You know I like cars, so go to motor one right there, one two three and the OnePlus 9 is loading all right, so they're, both neck and neck, depends on the advertisement. I will go to this first okay, so I think, as far as loading browsers' internet like it's, it's no longer that big of a deal very, very close with the slight edge on the s21 for now uh.

Let's see, if there's another ad right here, one two three and the galaxy s21 faster there. So definitely in usage, you're seeing a side-by-side performance. You sometimes know this loads faster, sometimes that little faster. You never know, so we'll go ahead and go back to see how much it's been retained in memory uh last time, galaxy s21 was terrible at this. If you see my previous video versus the s10, so let's see with a few updates if it's got faster, alright one two three: this was in memory.

It seems like it's in memory. This is fast either way, memory or not. Yep. Very fast right there again, this was in memory already, so no problem there- all right, Instagram yep already in memory, Google News, oh this one had to refresh again- and this was in memory, so the OnePlus 9 has memory and the s21 already has s-20 uh memory issues. It's yep look at that.

We were on this phone page, and now we're gone here. So again this is happening with the s21. It has the same amount of ram. I don't know. What's going on with the s21, I think they're trying to preserve battery all right, so this one did hold memory.

It's kind of random right, some hold memory. Some don't look at that reloading again, so we saw this in my previous speed test. Unfortunately, it's happening again, I feel like yep. That's how I know using it, though I don't really have a problem, but this is definitely not good if you're the type who likes to switch apps multiple times, okay, I'll, be surprised if asphalt is in memory. Oh, this one.

Both of them got out of memory they're, starting all over again, it's interesting, but it's about the same speed. Okay, now PUBG mobile, both of them out of memory they're doing some aggressive memory management here. Okay, so we'll leave that out. If you want to see the speed tester here again, let's go and then there it goes the ads so see like. I was saying everything every time it goes to ads is kind of annoying, but you can see the galaxy s21 loaded faster when it came to ads.

Okay, power director should go straight to the yep that was in memory all right finance. We should be scrolled down here quite a bit there. You go this one lost memory. This one was in memory. Okay, let's see if our speed test again, you see the results.

This one is starting again. I don't know why s21 does this. I think it's really to save battery and last but not least, reloads everything now using the s21 for a month or two months like it's not been a problem, and I don't really care about how much the apps retain memory, but whenever I do switch over there are times and games where I did lose where I was and that's annoying and I thought by now, Samsung would have fixed it with an update, but that hasn't happened so, unfortunately, that's the way of the land, that's how it is, but you get a good idea of which phone is a little faster. The OnePlus 9 for its price is a great competitor to the s21 they're about similar prices, they're, not the best of their lines or their series, there's the OnePlus 9 pro and then the galaxy s21 ultra. But these are awesome, phones, and it's all right, and they're fast superfast and, as you can see, the OnePlus 9 keeps up with their speedy performance as they have.
