Galaxy Z Flip vs. Motorola Razr: Spec comparison

Samsung and Motorola are going all-in on foldable phones. It's time to compare the specs of the new Galaxy Z Flip to the new Motorola Razr. Don't forget: specs aren't always reflective of real-world performance, so this is just how they compare on paper. Let's start with the design, because these phones look unique, and honestly the foldable clamshell design is probably the main reason why you want one. The Z flip is a touch smaller when folded than the razor, which echos the design of the classic RAZOR v3 from 2004 the razor tips, the scales at 205 grams or 7.23 ounces, while the Z flip is lighter at 183 grams or 6.45 ounces inside Samsung's phone has a six point: seven inch AMOLED with foldable glass, while the razor has a 6.2 inch. P ole d-- screen with a plastic coating both have a similar 21 by 9 aspect ratio.

The biggest difference, though, is how that screen folds. So let's talk about the hinge on the Z flip Samsung calls it. The Hideaway hinge it's rated for over 200,000 folds and has a layer of nylon fibers inside to keep particles like dust and dirt out. That hinge also has another trick: you'll be able to keep the phone open like you would a laptop if you want to watch a movie or take a selfie and flex mode splits the display, so you can view images or videos on the top half and control them on the bottom half the razor has two steel plates under the screen that slide to make room for the display when it's closed, to avoid creating a crease. It has a small teardrop fold when closed when you open the phone, the plates push against the screen to make it fully flat.

Motorola has not released an official fold rating for the razor hinge both have an external display, so you can see notifications at a glance, but they do work in a slightly different way. The Z flips 1.1 inch covered display is a lot smaller than the raises and shows notifications like the time while the razor has a 2.7 inch 600 by 800 resolution display. You can use to check notifications change settings or even use the front camera. Speaking of cameras, the Z flip goes for quantity. There are two 12 megapixel rear cameras, one regular of 1.8 and one ultra-wide at F 2.2 with a smaller sensor, while a front-facing, hole-punch 10 megapixel camera is for selfies and video calls on the razor. You have one 16 megapixel rear camera with an aperture of f-14 7 inside there's, also a 5 megapixel front-facing camera and both phones record in 4k time to talk about all the other important internals, there are 8 gigabytes of RAM and the Snapdragon 855 plus processor, on the Z flip verses, 6, gigabytes of RAM and the older Snapdragon 710 on the razor.

The flip also has doubled the storage of the razor at 256 gigabytes. As for batteries, the Z flip has a dual 3300 William hour battery, while the razor has a 25 10 milliampere hour battery inside the Z flip has wireless charging that also supports wireless power, sure to charge other devices like Galaxy Buds, but there is no wireless charging on the razor and both have 4G support. Although the razor will get a 5g version later in the year as for colors you'll be able to get the Z flip in purple or black plus a gold finish in certain parts of the world, but the razor is just in black for the time being, with a gold version arriving in spring. So where can you get the phones? Well, the Z flip will go on sale on February 14, either unlocked through Sprint or AT&T in the US, while the razor is available. Now, although it is tied to Verizon, also in the US and the big one price, the Z flip will sell for one thousand three hundred and eighty US dollars and the razor is 1,500, as always numbers on paper, don't necessarily reflect to real-world performance.

This is a spec comparison, so you'll have to wait and see how the Z flip really compares to the razor. Once it's released. You.
