Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Emulation Test! Dolphin, PPSSPP, REDREAM and More

Hey, what's going on guys, CTA prime back here again today, we're going to be taking a look at the emulation performance of the all-new Samsung Galaxy tab, s6 lite. I have made a full review. Video of this tablet and I'll leave a link for that in the description. Overall, it's definitely not as powerful as the original Samsung tab s6. Hence, the name light, but it is a very capable little device in this video I'm going to be testing out some n64 Sega Saturn PSP dream cast we'll do some 3ds using Ciara mm, some game cube emulation using the dolphin emulator and finally, we'll wrap it up with some PS2 emulation using daemon PS2 pro and for the first half of this video I'm going to be using the built-in screen recorder. It actually works really.

Well, especially with these lower end systems. I didn't notice any lag in those games that I was playing, but when I move up to the higher end stuff like game cube, PS2 and 3ds, I will film the screen. I don't want that screen recorder running in the background, taking CPU and GPU power away, because those are higher end emulators and I want to get as much as I can out of this tablet with those. So before we jump right into the testing, I did want to go over the basic specs, real quick for the CPU of the Enos 9611. This is a 10 nanometer, outscore CPU, four, 73 cores, a 2.3 and four 53 cores at 1.7. The GPU is the Mali g72, mp3, four gigs of LP ddr4x ram, and we have a 10.4 inch lcd at 1200 by 2000. It also supports a micro SD card up to one terabyte and yes, we do have Bluetooth built in, so you can connect your favorite Bluetooth, controller, Xbox controller or one of these idea 9167s.

It's a telescopic controller and the tab. S6 light does fit inside it. It actually works really well, but with all that out of the way, let's go ahead and jump right into some testing. So, first up we have some Sega Saturn, I'm using retroarch with the yo base and shirt court, and this is radiant silver. Ghana we'll have the fps listed on screen the name of the system, the name of the emulator and if I'm upscaled and the name of the game, so you know what's going on at any given time.

Sega Saturn using this core works, amazingly on the tap s6 lite baby, easy right. Oh, next up we have some n64 emulation using moo pin 64 plus FM from the Google Play Store. I am upscale to 960 by 720, and I'm pretty sure I could have gone up a little further. I didn't want to stress it because I'm using the built-in screen recorder, but the fps is in the very top of the screen here, and this is daddy Kong racing, but we're actually getting some perfect performance out of n64 in this tablet. Ah, next up we have dream cast, I'm using the red ream emulator from the Google Play Store.

I am upscaled with each one of these games, so 1920x1440 and performance is absolutely amazing, so wow all right. So here we have some PSP emulation using pass. Most of the games that I tested were able to run at 3x resolution no frame skip no hacks on, but when I moved up to the harder to emulate stuff like kill zone and god of war, I did have to take it down to 1x, but overall, PSP performance was perfect. Yep, hmm being an axel, might be useful. After all, now the beast is destroying the fleet.

So far, performance has been great, with all the emulators that I tested, but when we move up to the harder to run stuff like 3ds, game cube and PS2, the tab, Essex light really falls on its face. This is Mario sunshine. I've tested the Vulcan back in and OpenGL. This is the very beginning of the game. This isn't as hard to run as when we get into some real gameplay after this tutorial level.

So it's not going to perform any better than this soul. Caliber 2 is another easier one to run. Unfortunately, we just can't hit a constant 60 fps with it. There's lots of slowdowns in the 40s and overall, this little chip built into the tab. Essex's light just really isn't up to the challenge and after testing that I knew that Ciara mm for 3ds would be slow.

I tested several games and this is the best performance I could get out of it. This is dead or alive dimensions, and we're not even at 30 fps. Here we're running at around 8 to 10, fps and finally PS2 using daemon PS2 pro I have it set to debug mode, and I'm set to the fastest frame rate. Unfortunately, this just isn't going to run PS2 games either. So, overall, the tab, s6 lite, does perform pretty well in emulators, even with an upscale for the lower end stuff, but when we move up to the dolphin emulator Ciara, mm and PS2, this just doesn't have enough power, and I really wish that Samsung would have gone with the snapdragon 720, given that this is a 350 tablet, and you can pick up phones one bay for around 200 with that chip and the sd720 will crush the chip.

That's built into the s6 light any day. Pretty much any test you throw at it. So if you're looking at picking up one of these for emulation, I would kind of stay away from it, save a little of money up and get the original tab s6 or even the s5e, but that's pretty much it for this video. I really appreciate you watching if you're interested in checking out my full review with some native android game testing I'll leave a link for that in the description. If you want to see anything else running on the s6 lite.

Just let me know in the comments below and like always thanks for watching you.
