Galaxy Note 20 Ultra vs Galaxy Note 9 (RANT, short specs and full camera comparison)

Hello everyone welcome to the channel. My name is Alex, and this is Soto tech in this video. I want to give you an update about my three weeks. Experience using the Galaxy Note 20 ultra white, despite enjoying it, I don't think it is a real beast and king note phones used to be considered in doing so. I will be referring to the Galaxy Note 9 every so often why, because I still consider it to be Samsung's last the most complete smartphone up to date, and it will help me highlight certain things that prevent the Galaxy Note 20 ultra from being as complete and the full package that it should have been, and especially at this high price. So let's get into it.

Let's start with the positive the thing that has got me dribbling the most about the note 20 ultra. Is this big square, gorgeous 6.9, inches dynamic, AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1440 by 3088, pixels and 496 PPI density. It has a 120hz refresh rate at 1080p and though I'm happy, I have it if it really makes the phone run more smoothly. I honestly can't really see any difference. That's why I have disabled it, because a 60hz is smooth enough for me and I rather have an extra battery life, I'm just keeping it real now, unfortunately, this lovely screen has an unnecessary hope, punch that once again, if you have seen any of my previous videos, you know how I feel about it.

It's completely unnecessary serves no purpose, and it shouldn't exist at all, and it shouldn't be praised either. That's why I have it permanently hidden and still enjoying this big, maybe 6.7 6.8 inches clear and clean screen as it should be period. I absolutely love the stereo sound coming from the speaker at the bottom and the earpiece. Unfortunately, if you hold the phone in a certain way like this, it's very likely you would end up covering the speaker, so I don't really understand why Samsung decided to move it to the left and the same goes to the s pen. But it's okay.

It's not the worst complaint. I've got about this phone, one of the features among others that, in my personal opinion, makes the note 9 a more complete phone is the headphone jack. Yes, the headphone jack, which the note 20 ultra unfortunately doesn't have for this price. This phone should have included it period. It doesn't matter if you can now use better wireless, headphones, blah blah blah.

That's not the point. It's about giving people options like Samsung used to and for those people like me, who still prefer the traditional headphones with the 3.5 millimeter plug. Yes, I know here in the UK in other markets, unlike North America, you still get the USB type c headphones, but it doesn't matter. As I said, this phone should have come with it. Its high price demands so and all the features Samsung used to offer no excuses.

One case scenario why it is important to me: sometimes I spend hours out going from one activity to another during the day and until late night I mean obviously before the coffee limitations. For that reason, I always bring my anchor battery back. So when I'm running out of juice, I can plug it in and keep using my headphones without issues yeah, let me get the headphones okay here we go boom salted, and I'm good to go. No worries. Yes, I know I could use wireless headphones, but I preferred this period.

Why deprive people of this option to force them to use wireless headphones? Why another not so happy experience? I've had with this phone is the battery life. The note 20 ultra has 4 500 William battery capacity. That should have been no less than a thousand five hundred million, not even five thousand William, like the s20 ultra. If some Samsung had made this phone thicker than it should be, at least like the note 9, with 8.8 millimeters or even 9 millimeters, not 8.1, millimeters thick. In reality, when you add the camera bump, it's actually more like 11 12 millimeters.

So the battery life is fine, but it's not great like it should be, and for a phone like this, one of these size is kind of disappointing. Actually, the note9, when you have better battery life than the note 20 ultra though I think it should have also been better. How is it possible that cheaper phones, like the galaxy m31 m31s, have 6 000 William battery capacity and the recently released m51 with seven thousand Williams, and this one? Only four thousand million next, let's talk about unlucky methods, because I also have something to say about it. In the case of the Galaxy Note: 20 ultra, it has the 2d face unlock here in the hole punch which, to be honest, it's very fast and reliable. I must say, though, not as secure as the iris scanner.

On the note 9. Like I've said many times before. Instead of going for this silly and useless whole punch, Samsung should have kept the iris scanner and improve it or put a 3d face, unlock like the iPhone plus a nice ultra-wide selfie camera in a tiny bezel like this in my book, always practicality and functionality overlooks a nonsense that should be the approach. Okay, Samsung get that right. Please.

It also has the pattern. It has the pin the password plus the ultrasonic in display fingerprint reader, which is not bad, but I'm still not personally convinced it's a good move and worth the investment. I don't know why companies keep insisting on this. Yes, it is cool and all that, but the way I see it, it only serves for technological bragging points. That's it on one hand, it adds to the manufacturing cost and therefore to the price of the phone, and, on the other hand, it is less reliable.

That's the reality. Best choice is a capacity fingerprint reader like the note 9, but on the power button which you can see in other phones like the Galaxy S10 e and any of the galaxy fold, it is handy for everyone. Let's say if you are right, handed just register your thumb and that's it easy now. If you are left-handed, you can register either of these two fingers easy if it's on the table, and you need to unlock it, you also register this finger and boom sorted very easy. Why complicate things unnecessarily? Why? Next the s pen, let's now talk about the celebrity here in a nutshell, the s penguin, the note 20 ultra is more advanced than in previous note.

Phones and that's great. It is an amazing tool and I absolutely love it. It is the main reason why I have stuck to the Galaxy Note series all these years. I have zero complaints about this feature. As I said on the note 20 ultra.

It is more advanced with more features that I won't get into now, but in general you will also be happy with what you can do with the s pen. On the Galaxy Note 9 like equally use it as a remote control to take pictures and record videos, also cool features like a scream off memo that allows you to take note, even with your phone unlocked, which is one of my favorite features of the s pen, and it is present on both phones last but not the least, and what I consider to be possibly the main thing you should probably take into account apart from the price. Obviously, yes, the note 20 ultra camerae is better than on the note 9, with the addition of an extra lens, the ultra-wide lens, plus the increase of the telephoto optical zoom capability from two times to five times and all the way up to 50 times, hybrid zoom, but for the average consumer, the camera on the note 9 is very capable, and it keeps getting new features from newer phones like the s20, and you will probably even get some from Samsung's one UI 2.5 check. Some examples and compare by yourself so do so yeah, so the Galaxy Note 20 ultra 4k at 30 frames per second and the Galaxy Note.9 doesn't have 4k front-facing recording video, so it's a 1440 which is basically 2k, so walking check the stabilization, the dynamic range, so the Galaxy Note 20 ultra 4k at 30 frames per second and the Galaxy Note.9 doesn't have 4k front facing recording video, so it's a 1440 which is basically 2k, so walking check the stabilization. The dynamic range so do so so do now.

To conclude, what do I think about the note 20 ultra I'm going to be a straight up honest here of being a long time. Note fan, and I just can't help by feeling that, despite this being a great phone, no doubt and possibly the best phone of 2020, I just don't feel the same level of satisfaction and joy like I used to with other node phones. Like the note 4 and this beast here, the note 9, and it is mainly due to the unnecessary removal of features I've always valued. For me, it's just not as complete and the real beast it should have and could have been like it used to just imagine this phone as it is now, plus the headphone jack, the hybrid monitor, improved iOS scanner or 3d face unlock and an ultrawide selfie camera lens, even our blaster, which, to be honest, I never used on any of the phones in which I had it, but I've seen a lot of people in different forums still wishing it. So why not, as I said before, it's about options for everyone and especially for this high price now, should you buy it? Well, it depends on if you don't care about any of the things I've been ranting about.

You are not as passionate as I am about what the note series used to be and represent. Also, if having a better camera, is a big deal, and you can afford it sure, in any other case, look somewhere else and for cheaper price. Like the note, 10 plus note 10, and even the note 10 lite and the note 9, which I still consider to be the key and the most complete of all. Thanks for watching this video, I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what you think about this comparison and which phone you think offers more value for money.
