Charging solutions for mobile devices - GlobalTV Tech Talk 28 September 2015 | GetConnected

Bar as well talking tech right now and how are you I'm good? How are you doing good I've been telling him battling about your deck? She's going to do a deck party one day. Well, we see the album release party on the deck yeah, and he built his own deck somehow from YouTube videos. That's right! That's impressive, and it's like a 5,000 square, not that big, but it's pretty big! Well, you know, what's funny is we were just Madeline were just discussing that when the wind storm came and all the power was knocked out, she had no cell service whatsoever phone went dead and then all these people will show up a coating center to plug their phones and because no one could charge I was putting mine in my car and charging it through my car. But that's what you're talking about this morning is how to get powers buddy! That's what inspired me to do this right, because I had people come to my house, because I had power yeah just to charge their phone. It's amazing! Yes! Okay! So let's talk about it because it! You know we're so dependent on our mobile devices that we need to keep them charged. So I want to show different times in the day, because everyone's charging it throughout the day right so at nighttime.

When you go to sleep, this is the kind of long clock you want to get someone company called doc, and basically it's a universal kind of alarm clock that will also charge your smartphone. So if you turn it around Steve, you see you got two USB ports. Okay, you can put in here both your mobile device like say your smartphone and your tablet and have both charged at the same time. This is a good solution in case the power goes out, and you use your alarm clock because now you have, your phone will still have power, and you could also use that to keep your alarm going. So you don't miss up like a morning show.

So this is on battery or is it thought it is plugged in? So you can't plug this into the wall. Okay, but then, after it charges your phone and say the power goes out, yeah I can still have your phone's alarm clock. Oh I, see okay, I get it yes, and it's just a good habit to get into I have one of these by my bedside and I just I'm in the habit now just charging my phone, my alarm, clock actually has is, is if the power goes out. The batteries, ah I am, so I always have the backup for that. So, but this is good I like that.

Okay, next, up now in the daytime, love people in the kitchen or something families will be charging their devices, and they're always trying to get the wall outlets. Well, this is a new outlet. It's from a company called power to you and what you can see over here is they got to us d ports on it, so up to four different devices now can be charged all at the same time. You do need to have some technical skill to be able to electrical skill to what to say. Thankfully, there are how to videos online I know easier, I'm.

The kind of guy I'll just take I'll just turn like the whole power off in the house on the breaker because. Then I know I can't get electrocuted yeah yeah, it's a great solution, very easy to install and, of course you can look at video. What does something like that? Cost I think it costs around 50 years or thirty dollars. So that's pretty good. They don't know when you think about it.

Because you. You know those iPhone cables alone, yes, expensive, right, yeah and well, and typically you know you only one or two outlets in the house. You would want to put this and be right. That's where you do all you're charging. Okay, cool, okay, now you're on the road, a lot alright, so you need to keep things charged, but I want to show you a great little solution.

This is like typically, what a lot of people have a portable backup battery charger right, 6,000 Williams, what separates this and makes us unique? You could also jump your car, but this is no way now people can you, but can you jump a tour bus? That's good! That's amazing! Yeah! So it takes out 12 watt, 12, volts output, 300 amps yeah, which can do four to A six-cylinder car. Okay, if you got a v8 with the Semi in it, you're out of luck did something a little more uh. You know a bigger solution, but it's super light. It's gonna charge both your phone, potentially your motorcycle or your car. This is fascinating.

This is incredible, so there you go, there's the jumper thing, so anyone gets on the road a lot. This is the something you want to have with you, especially if you have a motorcycle as well. You can put it in your bag and take it with you now. What does this go for a lot that what I think goes for about a hundred dollars? Five hundred dollars? That's a pretty good which, when you look at the external packs already that's a pretty good deal for something ways: I love! This thing, that's a brilliant idea. It is, and so this also charges your phone as well.

When you yeah yeah, you can charge your phone and your car or jumpstart your car Andy I love this one great yeah, you're, also probably traveling to other countries. Yes well. This is going to Nashville very soon, okay! Well, that's that's good! What you can do with this! This is um, it's a bit of a universal charger for from when you're traveling and what this does and look this okay, you got your typical lick. You know us if you're going to Nashville, you can use that you're going to Europe. You got your Europe plugs just like that, or you got the UK I, don't know if that's the UK I can't remember now, and then one more so just about anywhere you go across the world.

This is all you need. It also has two USB ports on the back, so you can charge up to three devices with this one: international travel adapter. It's a great idea, it's small, to write it small okay, come on when you're traveling, you don't want to be carrying stuff, a lot of big stuff right. So something like that is a perfect solution, especially if you're on the road and traveling to other countries. That's a great idea like this and this one's 45 bucks.

What if I'd already good deal yeah so much about for Claire, Newell, she'll brother's love that, but it would definitely love yes, that cars going to better all right, Annie, ok, one more have not one more! Ok! Now the wind goes. We talk about the wind think this is the coolest thing. Ever it's a portable hand, crank generator. It's got um a port right over here, typical plug port that you would have yeah, but when you're out of power, all you have to do is just start cranking, and you can just keep crank it, and you can power your devices and get it back a charge. You have to continually crank it well, you're going to want crying pretty hard if you have small children.

This is great. You can make it like a game. Yeah, just keep cranking ya cards, father song, the funnest game, but it's great for an emergency kit, pretty easy to in the event that we do lose power, and you need to go to a charge just to call somebody yeah. Just a couple of cranks. You should be able to make a quick phone call.

Ah, you can also charge radios as well right. So if you need to hear what's going on the radio um, it's a must-have for any emergency kit, these days, ya got your food, your water and your hand, crank generator yeah. If you want to put your you plug your TV n right, if you want to make one Mr. Barney news crank it up and why keep breaking yeah, ok, good, all right, good stuff, and that is $65. $55 cool, ok, Andy! Thank you very much.
