Casessary Battery Case for the Pixel 2 Review

Boom, what's going on, this is a not quite an outdoor gear review, but it's for gear that did use for outdoor purposes. So, let's take a look at the cases case, kiss-kiss essay we're going to go with assessor battery case for the pixel -. So why did I get this? My phone is the Google Pixel ? I love the camera, absolutely love the camera on this phone for pictures for video it stabilized as well when using the rear camera it gets a little of zoom. It's got plenty of storage on the phone. I think this is 32 or 64 I, don't know, there's a bunch of space on this phone. It does a perfect job.

Still. Shots are great, so I wanted to carry this with me on my last backpacking trip that I did with a few other folks' dragon panda, crazy Kong myself, we did another section hike of the 80 part, one just went out on Friday, but that entire trip was filmed with my phone now. I've mentioned it before that. I like using my phone, has great camera right, like he just said, but the problem I've always had with it is the battery life, especially on the longer trip like that, where I'm using it for video, where I'm using it for photo, or I'm using it for GPS I, might be pulling up information about something I'm using it for a lot of things. The battery doesn't that last long, if I'm, just using it as a secondary camera, or I'm, using like the GoPro on a gimbals or something like that, and I'm, just using the phone for like quick, b-roll shots or real fast, like the GoPro, is put away, and I need a shot, real, quick, it works.

Well, so I wanted to get something that would extend that battery life and that's when I found this, so we're going to go over this real quick now this is like set for the pixel to I. Believe they've got four phones. They support right now, the Galaxy S8, the note 8, the iPhone X and the pixel to their website. I'll put it down at the bottom. It's just case: aka, severe, calm, and I'll.

Tell you what phones work with it, so real quick on the back here, actually maybe I'll get to that. Second, look at that less! So the specs on this are pretty basic. It's a 3900 William hour battery built into a case. The phone itself has a thin 3500 William hours, so it more than doubles the battery capacity, and it doesn't work as a second battery per se. It doesn't always charge the phone, but it's almost like a power bank.

That's just attached to your phone, and I'll, show you how that works. So, let's open this up real, quick- and this is this- isn't an unboxing. This is well-used for my trip, so there's a little card in here. This is for a pixel too, and it just gives you. The product specifications shows you how to put it on a little of a diagram.

I mean it's really not much to it. It's pretty simple and straightforward, and then there's you know how to install it, how to remove it, don't get it wet, don't feed it after midnight. That kind of thing all right. This is the case itself, so it's its bulky. I'm not going to lie it.

It adds a little pulse to the phone, but actually I found that, while hiking actually I liked it, it made it a little easier to hold on to, especially if you're walking in, like my extension pole broke again so for a good part of that trip, I was kind of hold on the phone one less usually holding it. Lefty like this, so the cameras are in there right, but it makes it easier to hold on to it, and it's not really all that heavy I'll put the weight up. Oh, hold on I'll glue it all right, so I weighed the phone in the case the phone is five ounces. The case is three and a half, so you put them together. You got eight and a half ounces, not too bad.

So a little more than half the weight of the phone you've got. The cutout here for the phone you've got cutout for the sensors in the microphone, or I actually know. This is sensors in the flash. I think we're done everybody just as sensors. The fingerprint scanner up top through the hole for a microphone you can kind of see that there are the buttons toward the phone and then there's on the bottom.

There is a hole for the second microphone right here and then the USB. So this is the pixel uses USB. So that's a charger and inside is the USB, see that you plug the phone into, so they're kind of offset all right. So all you do to put the phone in their real simple you just kind of flatly. Lay the phone in you'll see that lines up the USB see push it down, plugs in the USB see, and then you pop it in it's.

It's not going to come out it's in their pretty snug, but you may notice there's a little button on the back and that's how you know there. You go, may notice that there's a little button on the back, and this is how you charge it. So when it's sitting in here, it's not charging at all. You press this button and you hold it. It starts to flash and then I, don't know if you'll be able to see that, but it says charging rapidly.

So since this is USB see it can wrap a charge so once the phone hits 100% this shuts off. So if your phone is completely dead, you're going to get a charge plus a little out of it. I just would basically when it got something like 50% I just hit the button, throw it back in my pocket. Let it charge up, and it worked all day by the end of the night, the phone, the price still beyond like 60%, and this would be flashing red. So this little LED light down here is flashing.

Will change colors depending on how much charge the case has not the phone but the case itself. So when it's flashing white, it's got between 76 and 100%. If it's flashing green, that means it's got between 51 and 75% if it's flashing, blue, it's between 26 and 50% and then 25% down to 1% or dead, it's red. So if it's flashing red, you know that this is getting pretty low. So at night, I'd plug this into my anchor Power Core charge them both up, and I'd, be good to go for the next day.

So as far as all that goes, the charging the phone it didn't hamper the microphone at all. It didn't hamper the camera. It didn't, hamper the fingerprint sensor. Furthermore, it didn't make the screen any harder to get the buttons work. The volume works everything on the phone works as it should you just get this portable charger with you now there are some things on here that we're gonna talk about.

So everything got the pro and con right. So on the back, it tells you all this fun stuff that it does. It says on to go charging state charge anywhere, very true, okay, so we give that a big thumbs up full 360 degree protection. Okay, it doesn't protect the screen at all. It is raised a little.

I guess, there's a little of a raised bezel. So if you're to put it down I guess a screen wouldn't technically touch, but it's not protecting that screen. So yeah, that's a! Maybe that's a good half way thumbs up. Yeah, it does recheck the phone- that's not like that, though priority pass-through charging. So basically what that means is when you plug this into a charger, it's gonna charge your phone first then the case after that.

Yes, that's true thumbs up that did work dynamic power management. Okay. That basically just says that it's smart enough to know how much current send your phone depending on what needs and where the charging point is because your phone almost dead or is almost full I. Guess that's a thumbs up, but there's no way for me to know that it charges the last one o TG data transfer. Now this one could be big for some people, so OTG on an Android device is on the go data transfer alright.

So that means that the USB port on this phone, if I plug my phone into my computer I, can transfer files I can share my internet connection. I can. If it's USB-C computer I could charge the computer from my phone. If I wanted to like there's a lot of phones. Have this iPhones? Have it androids have it? So it's all that fun stuff that your phone can do when it's connected to another device.

This is supposed to allow that the GoPro didn't like it. It's charging, and it said no I agree that does not work on us if I plug it into my computer. It charges the case, but it doesn't know that the phone is there. I can't share files. I can't share Internet I can't do any of that through the USB.

Now, maybe just maybe it's because my computer isn't USB-C, but that shouldn't make a difference if I plug my computer directly into my phone I can do all that stuff. But if I'm using the case, it does not work, there's no way to turn it on or off it just should work it does not. USB C is two-sided, so it doesn't matter which way you plug it in it should work the same. I even tried flipping it upside down. Maybe they got pins not connected right, so know that in order to get files from the computer or to share your internet or to do any of that kind of stuff that you do with your computer when it's connected to your phone, you have to take it out of the case.

The Box says you know, but you did box is wrong. I, don't know. What's up with that, I don't know. If that's a problem, I've heard other people say that with these cases that the OTG does not work I want to test it for myself and found. In fact, it does not now again like I said, maybe because it's not us BC, but that should not matter the computers just so standard USB.

There's, not many computers that have USB see, so I. Don't have any way to actually test that I guess I could plug it into another USB see phone. What you do have, but I'm not gonna, go through all that it shouldn't, I shouldn't have to do that. It should work on my computer. If the phone does it don't minor inconvenience for me, I'm not using this.

As an everyday case, this is for when I'm going to use my phone as a camera, and I'm onto trail or if I just want to have extra battery power with me when I'm out hiking, so all around I give this a thumbs up. It does what it's supposed to do for the most part. It protects the phone is, but it does charge the phone. Furthermore, it did exactly what I wanted to do. So that's my look at the cases Siri thirty-nine hundred million power phone battery case for the pixel ? I'm, assuming for the other models, it's very similar I, don't know about the USB OTG though, for other phones, I, don't know, I know it does not work on this.

That's the only downside. I could see the bulk not a big deal for me. Everything else worked as advertised so yeah I like it. It's going to continue to go with me as long as this battery holds up. Who knows how long this battery will last but um so far, so good.

If anything happens, anything changes, it explodes I'll, let you know and to let I'll see you in the next. You.
