OnePlus 9 Pro Long Term Review

All right guys, I think it's that time, OnePlus 9 pro what I really think about this phone and why I've decided to keep one. What is up guys welcome back to more with TK now for some of you all that may be new to the channel. I haven't been around long. I've been known for years as an OnePlus hater from digging up dirt and having friends from a shadowy internet. Hacking group find photos of a founder of their company wearing dresses to chasing other people out of their own party in a major city for a tech conference, I've been known as a pretty bad hater of this company. That said, this phone's pretty damn good.

So what do I really think about this phone? Well, I've done a lot of different videos on this phone already here on the channel. If you haven't seen them, go check them out just in case. I missed something here, and I'm not going to keep you here for an hour or 30 minutes or 20 minutes to talk about this phone it'd be very quick efficient. Unless you know whether you should spend your money on it now, there are some crazy deals available for this phone right now, if you have T-Mobile, I think you get 50 off of this thing, um, which then makes this like a 500 something dollar phone, 100 percent, worth it 1100 bucks after taxes and stuff, and shipping um from OnePlus directly unlocked uh, maybe not so much, and I'm going to get into. Why as we go, but not so much now, here are the pros and cons.

The T-Mobile version has not had any updates yet um, and it deals with some of the issues that this thing had out of the box. That said, the unlocked version has had several updates in that time period, and now it is much better. So let's get into a couple of different things and one of them is the display. The display on this thing is absolutely amazing. I give OnePlus massive credit for this and I don't know they didn't make it.

They probably got it from Samsung or somebody else, but that display is absolutely beautiful. The colors pop it looks good. The 120 hertz looks good and, to be honest, I noticed this. This display is more fluid. I know it's more fluid than um the galaxy s21 ultra, in my opinion, in my day-to-day use with it, that's what I think using it.

It just seems more fluid more buttery smooth. Now it's going to get me to audio. This is one of the best sounding phones that I think OnePlus has put out in a long time, the speaker down here at the bottom and the other speaker which comes out of the earpiece here, combined, whether you're holding the phone like this or like that or with the other hand, or you're holding it. This way, the audio in this thing is deep: rich, it sounds um perfect. The audio is perfect.

So, like I said, audio is amazing. On this phone uh can't go wrong there, let's get to battery life. Now I took this thing off the charger about an hour and a half ago, and it's still at 100 pretty impressive today, maybe because I really haven't been pushing this thing hard or through its paces. Um I get through a full day with this, even with heavy use, but I'm barely getting there like, but here's why? I'm not complaining about the battery life not being the best on the market right now. The fact that I can plug in the charger and cable that is included in the box and plug this thing in plug this in right, plugging this in and go from almost zero like say two or three percent to a hundred percent in like 30 or 40 minutes or leaving it in for like 20 minutes and having like a 60 charge, is absolutely freaking, amazing and readily available.

I know: there are other phones that have really fast charging like the OPPO's have the UK, which is basically this in another name, but look readily available here in the United States. This is the fastest charging phone you can buy right now. Today I told you we were going to move fast and heavy guys' camera. What do you guys think about this camera? Let's go ahead and get into it um. I still stand on what I say.

I think it's some of the best video you can get out of a smartphone. It is, in my opinion, the android phone that comes the closest or in most cases beats because of the 8k wide angle: footage the iphone has been for content. Creators like myself look at automotive YouTube as a prime example like 60 of channels with over 500 000 subs shoot with what an iPhone that's right. I know us in the tech community, the tech channels we break our red cameras and a7s s3s and whatever, and I'm guilty of that too, but um yeah, uh yeah the automotive scene and scenes that have way more views way more watch time and higher CPMs. They could give two shits about an a7s.

They could give two shits about a red magic dragon, camera, uh, they're, shooting with an iPhone 12 Pro max and wide angle, or a GoPro hero 9. That said, what does that mean for this camera? Well, it's actually pretty impressive, I'm not a still photography guy. I do take some shots here and there um and usually for that. I keep a pixel on deck because that's for me the standard when it comes to still photography on a smartphone, um or a Huawei. You know when they were allowed here um.

But for me this phone video wise is the best choice you can get on android right now, like it, it's not even close the 8k wide angle, which, by the way, is the only 8k camera that shoots 30 frames. Samsung is limited to 24, okay, so 8k 30 frames per second, and it shoots 8k in wide angle. There is no other smartphone on the market. That is shooting 8k wide angle if it is, and I'm wrong to tag me in the comments, but I did my research I couldn't find one. I know that, there's a bunch of cameras that shoot 8k, I know Xiaomi has a camera that shoots AK, but not from the wide-angle lens.

Okay. Okay, that said, was I smoking crack. When I said this was better than the a7 s3 or the a7 iii yeah yeah, I was, I was uh. I was drinking the Kool-Aid, that's not to say that the cameras still aren't. Probably some of the best you can get on a smartphone this year, um.

It just goes to tell you that you know like I was this. This is such a remarkable improvement from OnePlus and their camera department. It was such a remarkable improvement for them that I was that excited now. I don't know um shout out to my dude jay Williams. I know he's doing a DSLR versus this, and I know um easy computer solutions did one as well with a canon and here's.

What I could tell you, man um, is this thing: going to beat an everyday mirrorless camera. I was wrong for saying that, no, of course it's not doing it get close, does it get close to the quality? In my opinion, it does so if you're, a content, creator, and you're looking for something that you can shoot edit and upload, I mean there's software like kine master, which I use on android. I don't use it on iPhone. I use suffusion over there, but if you wanted to do everything from your phone, you could totally video. Do nice, high quality, edits, audio voices, overs everything from this phone uh and manage your entire YouTube channel and that's saying a lot for OnePlus in the event your phone doesn't overheat.

Now we get to the part of the video about things that I don't like, and they were supposed to fix this issue when they did the update, where this wasn't overheating as much. I think they were gonna throttle down the processor, maybe um, but no, it still overheats, if I just hold it out in the sun a little, and I'm filming I'll get four minutes in or so and um that's pretty much it before it toasts and says it can't film. So keep that in mind when you're buying this phone? That's why I said it's really great. If you're picking it up on T-Mobile, it's actually a perfect value, not so much if you're paying 1100. I expect my look if I buy a piece of technology or equipment or car gear or whatever it is.

If I pay 1100 for something, I expect that to be perfect. If it's not right, and I paid that much money for it, I'm going to be pissed, and you should be too. It is legit really time for these tech companies to step the up and stop making excuses or stop saying. Oh, we're. Going to fix this with an update.

We're going to fix that with an update. Why don't you just release your when your product is ready? That's all I'm going to say about that. Now, the microphones on this as well: audio, recording and wind cancellation. I thought this thing I was getting. I was in like 30 something mile an hour winds out on an auction yard filming- and I was like this- is going to suck.

Now, usually, I use my GoPro in those conditions because it has the media mod with the foam and the dead cat on it. It kills all that wind noise, an iPhone forget about it, I'm getting all kinds of wind noise in there the galaxy same thing, though it is better than the iPhone for wind cancellation. This one king supreme as my dude Eric from easy computer solutions, would say and look if we get in really close. You can see the grill there on the microphone they use. Definitely high quality mics on this and OnePlus definitely deserves credit.

For that. It is absolutely amazing, the audio that you can get out of this phone now, if you're, huge into camera and audio reviews on a tech phone like if you'm not an expert by any way, shape or form. But there is a gentleman out here called some gadget guy, exactly how it sounds. Some gadget guy, all together here on YouTube uh Juan Carlos Parnell. He has gone a little more in depth than I'm going to go on this phone, and it's microphone on the audio should definitely go check out his channel and go think.

Would he go see what he thinks about the OnePlus 9 pro? It was his very first video of walking with that camera uh and the audio that came out of it in 8k. That made me pull the trigger and spend the 1100 bucks on two of these phones, which gets me to the end of today's video. I'm actually sending this one off to my dude Leo aka android stud down in Miami Florida, and I've decided to keep the silver variant. Now I bought two of these because you guys know I always do like a color comparison between the phones and you guys will get to see that if you haven't seen it already depending on how these publish um but unlocked is the way to go. If you can afford the money um.

That being said, if all issues were fixed, and they're, not so maybe T-Mobile, if you have them, is the best bet 50 off the phone 500, something but 600 bucks. That's a pretty good deal for this phone um and everything that you get in it. The OnePlus 9 is also a perfect deal and several hundred dollars less, and you get the same camera equipment or the know you get that same 8k quality uh that same big giant sensor. It is absolutely god its beautiful man, one plus. It pains me to say this, but you did a good job on this phone and thank god that you got rid of coral pie.

I really appreciate that I know he's over there with the other sexual miss, deviant, uh, Andy, Rubin and whatever more power to them. Maybe they'll go wear, dresses together and come out with a great phone. I don't know, but you all did a hell of a job with this phone, and I'm just mystified. I'm blown away like to make that big of a leap in camera, I'm interested to see what you guys do on the next one.
