Camera Test: Huawei P40 Pro Vs Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro

Hey, everybody I hope you guys all healthy and safe. So in today's video, we're going to do a camera showdown between the hall, IP 40 pro and the Xiaomi me 10 Pro. So if you're familiar with my camera test before I, try to take photos and situations that are a little more difficult, more challenging than usual I'm, not gonna, spend 6 pictures of like an outdoor shot under perfect sunlight because any phone can capture a good image under perfect daylight nowadays. So you see how to split the photos into 12 different categories and other than the first one, which is a regular 1 X photo during the day, everything else a little more challenging like such as a wide-angle camera shot at night, a picture taking in the really dark alley: 10 times zoom 20 times, zoom 50 times, zoom stuff, like that. So before we begin the test, let's go over the camera hardware, so Bobbi's phones have a quad camera system. When the hallway p4a pro you have a 50, megapixel main shooter, that's built on an AR BYB sensor and over a sensor size.

That's one over one point: two, eight inches, that's the largest exercise in smartphones. Right now, when the Xiaomi me 10 pro the main camerae. It's a 100, 8 megapixel camera over a synthesized that one over 1.3 5 inch. So that's still very large, but the p40 pro it's going to be a lot better in low light situations because it doesn't have as many pixels to fill up with light, and the image sensor is just a little larger. Now on to the wide-angle camera, the p4 was 240 mega pixel wide camerae where's.

The 10 Pro has a 20 megapixel wide-angle camera and the p4a pulls wide-angle. Camera is also built on an AR y YP sensor. That makes it a little better for light sensitivity to, and he moves on to the zoom lens. The YP for a pull has a periscope zoom lens. It's a 12 megapixel shooter, whereas on the 10 Pro, there's two telephoto zoom lenses, there's a 12 megapixel tell and a 5 megapixel lens the reasons there are 2 telephoto lenses.

So it allows the 10 code to cover different focal lengths more effectively. So the lens don't have to switch to digital zoom when it's our range for the telephoto lens. That's out to your trick, that Hall is going to do with the p4a Pro Plus that phone's going to have an X, telephoto, lens ? and then the fourth camera on the wiped for a pro, it's a TOF sensor for better bouquet images and then around the front. A bull, 532, megapixel, selfie, cameras, okay! So without further ado, let's begin, so this is the first test. It's just a regular one, next image during the day, so it should be pretty easy comparison now, throughout this comparison, I'm going to put the images in this exact order.

Yip for you pull on the Left. Shall we meet tempo on the right? So you see both of these images. Looks perfect. Let's expect the dynamic range color accuracy are all perfect. Let's go zoom in a little, go to actual size, so the Xiaomi me tempo is shooting of the 100 aiming a pixel sensor, but it's pixel bend down to 27 min epistles where's, the P for April.

It's a 50 megapixel sensor that has pixel bend down to around 12 megapixels. So that's why the Xiaomi Haymitch is just a little larger and if you really want to crop in it's gonna, be a little more detailed when you zoom in because there are more pixels to go around, but both of these images are perfect. Let's look at dynamic range down on the floor. Both seem to be good, but I. Think the people do a better job of show.

The texture of this brick cement right here, the zoom in on this pipe a little yet the Xiaomi me tempo definitely has a slightly more detailed image, but both of these are perfect shot. So can't really decide a winner just from right here. So let's go to the second test, which is wide-angle camera during the day, so open up the Huawei first, so you notice that the hall IP 40 pulls Riding on camera, has a narrower field of vision than just about any other phone right. Now, that's just something! While I designed these all I didn't want to stretch an image too far, not distortion. The equalities calling this a similar lens see you see, I took these photos from the exact same spot and the Xiaomi photo is just covers a little more, but the good thing about the p40 pulls wide-angle camera.

Is that because it has a field vision, and it has a higher megapixel count of 40. That means you get really detailed, really sharp images, even when you zoom in and if you use other phones of wide-angle cameras. You know that that's usually a weakness of wide-angle camera. You can't really zoom in that much because details are very soft. As you can see right here, the p40 close wide-angle image once you go into actual size, is much more detailed than the meat and pulls water going image.

It's a little soft on details and that's gonna, be the case for every wide-angle photos you take with the p40 pro against any other wide-angle camera from the iPhone 11 Pro Xiaomi me tempo Samsung, Galaxy s4, the ultra, all of them all every one of them. It's not going to be as sharp as the Huawei p4 impose wide-angle camera I mean look at the difference right here, but there at the same time, if you want a wide-angle image that gives you a wider field of vision, then Twilight doesn't a million, deliver next up we'll go to the wide-angle camera at night, and you'll see here: Pauline's going to win pretty badly because again it's a higher megapixel account, and it's built on the BYB sensor. So you see we have the hallway key flow. You pose lighting on image right here, and then we have two Xiaomi me temple on the right and the shower. We think o is overexposed to light right here and right here too.

But again you see the field of vision. The Charles image covers a lot of ground, whereas the hallway image is actually quite narrow. Sometimes you can't even tell it's a wide-angle image, but if you're just going by image integrity, it is not even close. Now, let's move on to standard 1x night images, so we'll start with the hallway and then the Xiaomi. So both of these are night images taking that just 1x, so basically all the point-and-shoot.

Now both of these are really damn good images. Shimmies image is technically a little better lit, but I think Hawley's image looks more aesthetically. Pleasing I mean the fact that you see a little of shadows right here in the sky. You see a little more. The contrast between the cloud and the dark sky was right here and show me: the sky is just a little.

You like blue, so I think I prefer, while is the image a little, but let's zoom in to actual size, so both of these kept perfect, pretty much integrity. Considering is a night shop. I think Holly's image is a little more detailed. Now, if you remember, when I did the one next image during the day, shimmies image was more detailed, but now when it's nighttime, then Huawei probably wins slightly because of the Rob sensor, we'll move on to another set of 1x images at night, so we have two P for you Pro again on the left and the tempo on the right. This one I actually think I prefer shimmies image.

Huawei has this habit of over processing images, so you see look at the ground. It looks a little over sharpened all around same thing right here, you look at the building's. The windows seem a little over sharpened, whereas looks a little more natural on the temporal to my eyes. Both of these are very close, and really it's just a matter of opinion, but I think I prefer the meat and prose image right here now, we'll move on to a picture taken in a really dark alley, and this is a win, a clear win for the YP for a pro. Even though shout me, tempo pulled in a lot of light.

It just does not look natural. It was the hallway P for a pool you consider textures of the wall. You can see this graffiti. Clearly, it doesn't look washed out a little right here and then the lights are better exposed down the alley too, but that's to be expected because the while iPhones have been the low-light King for like the past two years now, because of that ray B's sensor, I. Think Xiaomi made a big improvement here, I think even just a year ago, if you use a shaman v9, it would just be a completely dark image right here.

I did not turn on night mode here. This is just a standard, auto 1x shot. Now, let's do 10 times zoom during the day, so we'll first open a reference image. So this is a reference image. Take one X, so I'm going to zoom in too right here.

This sign right here: okay, okay, so we're in the hall IP 40 pull right here in the middle and a shall Mimi temple on the right. Both of these are 10x zoom into here, so see. Considering how far out standing the fact I can read the sign on both of these are excellent, but you see that the Xiaomi me temple is 10 times. Zoom is actually a little more detailed, yeah I mean if you should read the text, I feel I can read the sentence here. According to the government, us from 28th March I read a little better than the hallway, so he might be one day.

I thought the hall at before. He pulls the periscope zoom then. So why is it losing to the SHA Mimi tempo? That's me, as a periscope zoom ins is built for more extreme zoom. My 15 X 30 X stuff, like that when you're, just a 10x, shimmies method of pulling data from the one engineering 8 megapixel sensor, combining with the short telephoto zoom, it actually does a better job and that's the case in several tests. I've pulled off to the Xiaomi temple surprisingly, is just a better 10x camera.

So here's another reference image, so I'm going to try to zoom into this Street Market right here, so we're hallway, and then we have Xiaomi so both ways at an exam, and again they are pretty close. Fighting zombies image keeps a little more texture like all around. Like you see the bags where here look a little washed out the text right here, the 1956 is a little sharper too. Let's go into actual size, yeah, it's close, but the Xiaomi time crow, it's a better tan, X camera than the Y p40 Pro. And now, let's move to 20x, and I find that 20x is still the same case.

It's close, but Xiaomi tends to be a little sharper just by a tad I mean we look at both of these they're perfect for 20x photos, but Xiaomi as image is just a little more accurate colors, and it's a little better texture. Likewise, right here, so we're hallway, and then we have Xiaomi, say I. Think the book kitchen right here it looks a little sharper on the shopping weekend. Crow then on the YP for a pro, and likewise with this bottle the artists right here. So now we'll do 50x zoom.

So this whey Y- and this is Xiaomi- and you see when it comes to 50x, then finally, that periscope zoom and kicks in not the yp4 Poco has a sharper image. Likewise, right here, quality photo on the left. Shall we meet am I going to write a 50x zoom, okay mix up, let's go to the bouquet images? Now remember. The whole IP for April has a dedicated TOF sensor for bouquet shots, whereas the Xiaomi temple does not. So that's why you see the difference right here.

Overall, edge detection are perfect for both phones, but I think Huey, wise both effect. The edge detection just seems a little more natural, a little more creamy, and we look at the cat, it's quite a bit more detailed to than on a meat em pro, it's just a little soft, but you can actually see the fur of this kitty cat here. Quite well. Let's zoom back a little, yeah I just think the Huawei bouquet Mitch. It just looks a little superior all around.

Now we move on to selfies so Huawei and show me so the hallway people, I post selfie camera, is really damn good. It beat the iPhone 11 Pro and Samsung Garcia has 20 ultra selfie camerae easily and right here. The wall rp4 I, pull once again I shop over these in portrait mode, and you see once again, Xiaomi messed up right here. It blurred this part of my visor face mask whatever this is when the hallway people got it right, let you see it kept most of it right except like here, messed up a little around the edges, and this is for my face. Both foam got my face.

Pretty raw edge detection is pretty good, but just looking right here, the Huawei image is a little better. Now, let's look at macro shots. This is a win for Xiaomi by default, because the hall IP Filippo doesn't have a macro shot. So you see with the Xiaomi me temple I'm able to get this close to my camera. Lens was on the wall, a key for a pro when I get this close, it just becomes a blurry mess.

I just cannot take a picture. Okay and finally, let's look at video performance, 1080p, okay, so both of these are at 1x right now. The weakness of the Xiaomi camera is that once you've begun shooting 1x, you cannot switch lens to the wide-angle camera. If you want to shoot wide-angle videos with the tempo, you have to switch it before where's the hall right before you pull. You can switch lens on the fly like I'm doing right now, I'm a social wide-angle.

In fact, all I want you to shoot videos with a wide-angle camera, because hall I have calls it the Sin ha lens and, as you can see, the people are told video is just a little more cinematic and I. Think stabilization and balance it's a little better on the p40 pro 2, but both videos are pretty good considering this is at nighttime, video! Ok! So that's about it! For this camera test between the hall IP for April and the Xiaomi tempo I. Think all things considered the hall IP for opposed a more capable camera system. It has a much better wide-angle camera. It is a much better low-light performer, but then the Xiaomi me 10 Pro, it's better at macro shots and arguably, maybe better.

That's just 1x image. ?, oh and it's better at 10x and 20x zoom, but ultimately this test was a lot closer than I thought and probably most of you guys thought because I think a couple of years ago, the hallway p2000, for example, would have killed the Xiaomi 8 in a camera test. So the fact that this is a lot closer, it means that Xiaomi has put in a lot of effort, and it's caught up. So that's about it. For this camera comparison, I'm going to have more content on the Xiaomi temporal and the hall IP for info coming up over the next couple of days, I'm currently reviewing the meathead pro I'm liking the phone, a lot of man, although I still think I, like the people poke better, but the fact that the people are poke at my news.

Oh, so that's tough! Anyway! Thanks for watching stay healthy, everybody.
