Black iPhone 12 Mini Unboxing & First Impressions! By Daniel Romero

Hey everybody how's it going here today we are taking a look at the iPhone 12 mini in the black color, and here you see the box very simple, straightforward black phone in the front black iPhone text. Here, let's go ahead and open this up, 64 gigabytes for around 730 dollars. There you see the phone right here on video. It doesn't look as small as it feels like when you grab it in real life. It's really a joy to like to pick up this phone for the first time and see how light and small it is. Furthermore, it really is quite incredible, but you can see there the black color very glossy the glass finish here on the back.

That does attract a lot of smudges. It's going to be the color out of all of them. That's going to attract the most smudges you! Basically as soon as you grab it you're going to get smudges all over this, but it's also very easy to clean, just take a wipe of shirt and just wipes right off. You can see the matte finish lens right there. That looks quite nice, especially when you have it.

In cases and then the black aluminum here that also looks really, really great front screen here. Let's remove the protector, and you can see the all black finish looks great because you get basically nothing here showing from the sides. It all just looks like a black phone looks very nice because in the other ones you can see some of that color shine through the front, not so the case here right here. We have a little thing with designed by apple in California, Simon jack tool, apple sticker and then just a lightning to USB, cable, so nothing special in the box. So we can put that away and check out the color more and compare it to some of the other colors we opened up so kind of the most comparable.

One here is the black versus the white color. Here you can see those two. There then also, of course, the black and the red. That's a popular combo. You can see those two there in case you're deciding between the two and then black and blue.

Also and lastly, maybe just in case- I don't think many people are deciding between mint and black, but there it is, and now let's just go ahead and put them all together, so you can see them all side by side, and here we have them the iPhone 12 mini and even all these many in my hand, don't even weigh very much, so that's kind of cool. You can see that there, but, most importantly, I think you know, choose a phone based on how you're going to handle it. So if you are going to be putting a case on it, maybe match it with the case. I personally find that the white and the black are the best for that. You can put any colored case on these devices, and they're going to look great with.

I would say that the white is even the most versatile out of all of them, because even frosted, clear cases look good on the white, but here's the black and with the black. I just want to talk about the fact that um actually nothing to do with the black it's about the sizes of the phones. So let's talk about phone sizing here we have the 12 pro max just so you can see apple's biggest phone and their smallest phone next to each other, and you can see it is a pretty big difference. It might not look like it on camera. I think it does, but when you pick them up and hold them, it's quite insane.

The max feels like it won't fit anywhere. The mini feels like you can just like toss it and play with it, and just you know, put it in any pocket and that's just great you can fidget with it. You can't really do that with the pro max, not easily at least, but you can fidget with this one all day. So if that's something you're interested in then go for the mini now compared here to phones that you might have already. Let me see here iPhone 10s right there or iPhone 10 a little smaller than the iPhone 10.

So if you're coming from that expect it to be smaller. Still though, it's a full-size screen on here on the front and OLED display its specs are up-to-date with the 12 pro, so you're, not missing out on anything. It's like basically specked out the exact same way as all the other expensive phones, it's just smaller, which is great and a little less expensive than the other ones. So here we compare it to the iPhone 7, which is the same size as the SE. You can see how much screen real estate you're going to get with this new phone, which is quite a bit of course in these older phones.

You had this aluminum finish back here, which I did quite like it just felt really nice in my hand, now it's glass for that wireless charging, even with the SE. It's also glass, but you can see the difference here in color of how apple used to do the black iPhone 7 and that was kind of fully black. Now, it's more of a bluish black when you compare them at least side by side quite different. This one also had a colder touch to it. That aluminum was very cold to the touch this one.

Not so much, so I mean it is going to be even smaller by a little little than this iPhone SE iPhone 7. You can see that there, but more screen real estate, which means you can increase the text size a little more if you so want to you'll, be able to watch movies and videos much better than you could on this one right here. So a lot more space for things and, at the same time, slightly smaller form factor which I think is going to be a huge hit because it just feels so great. I mean this is the phone that most people should have. I don't see why so many people are walking out with tablets in their pockets.

Furthermore, I get some people that have huge hands getting the max, but if you don't have huge hands um, I just don't see why you would carry that around because uh it just becomes harder to hold and everything I feel like. You might end up using your phone less than if you had something like this or something that fits your hands better, that you can more easily maneuver and use. I don't know, I think, that's how I approach it, and even though the max does have slightly better cameras than even the pro I just would not be able to handle this size every day, because it would become a chore to use my phone every time. I want to use it. Furthermore, I want to keep it simple, and the 12 pro is about the limit as to how far I can go any bigger than this, and it's just going to become a big hassle, because, even already with the pro, I have to take it out of my pocket.

When I go to sit in my car things like that, that would not exist if I had this mini, but then with the mini. I do edit a lot of photos and I don't want to be keeping it too close to my face so pros and cons with all these devices. Just go for your favorite size, favorite, color you're, going to really love it. Now one of the things I want to show you guys is here the black phone, how it looks while you're texting everything. Of course this is a dark phone.

It's not going to attract a lot of attention. Most people aren't even going to look at it very much, maybe because it's so small people might notice that it is the mini. But you can basically see me there if I was texting. How that would look, it's so nice to have something so easy to maneuver and so nice and nimble uh. You can see there talking on the phone, how it would look holding it there against my face very easy.

It doesn't weigh much it's uh, nice, and you could fit it anywhere, really just any pocket, and it wouldn't fall out, and then here is that black color you're going to see some fingerprints on it, and I'm not going to clean it, because, obviously so you can see how it attracts the fingerprints but again super easy to clean off, take a wipe, and they come right off, and I think the pro to this phone really is that with cases and skins, it's going to look incredible, and you can easily mat out that back really great. Let's do a quick side by side here with the razor here is a racer phone from you know what we used to consider smaller phones back then, and then, if we open it up, you can see that so this phone is a small phone, a beautifully small phone. It's really crazy. Awesome, awesome little thing. Now: let's go ahead and move on to the case portion of this video, so uh yeah feel free to brown or just you know, leave.

But here we have the iPhone or apple leather case, and this is going to look great with the black. Very traditional look simple. I think it looks awesome the way the matte finish looks here with the case. I wish that my 12 pro looked like that, but it does not. Furthermore, I definitely prefer this look.

Just looks so good that matted out finish here with the aluminum at the bottom thing. This is a killer combo. I highly recommend this look feels great looks great, gives it that extra little of grip- and I really do dig this combo here- is the case in case you're gonna. Get that that's how that looks. It actually gives the phone even slightly more weight, but then it feels even nicer in the hand, because it just has a perfect weight with all that I don't know.

Definitely a cool combo and I feel, like the wallet case, works best with this mini phone, not with the max or the pro or the 12. It just works perfect with this, because it's the same size, so you grip everything in one grip, and you don't feel like you're going to push it off when you have it on the other one. So here real quick, so you can see switch it to the max, and it's just this tiny little thing back there that doesn't feel right, and then you're. You kind of hit it around with your fingers, and it falls off. It doesn't work well on the max models.

It does work well on the mini model. So that's something to keep in mind now. One of the great things about this black phone is that you can basically pair it with any case here. So you want to put a purple. You can still do that, and you know go purple and black.

You want to put a red because you like red, you can do that. Furthermore, you get tired of the red phone, and you want to put something a little different on there, and I've misplaced my cases. Well, let's put this one on, then you can do that, and you can see how things are going to look. I'm kind of speed firing through these, mainly because my voice is running out um, but I also do want to show you guys this. This one like here is its my favorite combo uh, just because it mattes everything out, and it goes so nicely with the camera lens.

And here we go look at that, my goodness this case is uh, one of the thin cases from totally I'll have the links down below in the description just in case, but look at that. You can still see the Apple logo just a little, mattes everything out the matted out lenses here, and it just looks even better than the 12 pro in graphite. In my opinion, just looks incredible there. I am a huge fan of this combo. I don't know for me, it'd be between the white and the black, and this combo just looks so, so clean and uh.

It doesn't attract any attention. Then I think I would probably go with this one and last but not least, let's go ahead, and here, let's see a black on black combo here with a black leather case from Mayo. This looks great too. Super, super nice gives it a little more of that grip that feeling from the leather um the buttons here. Strangely enough, one of the cool things that I noticed with using one of these cases for like the past couple weeks, is that these buttons get super soft, so right now they're kind of hard to press, but the leather kind of softens up, even more, and then they're easier to press.

I thought that was kind of cool apple's leather case. Just has these metallic buttons on there, so that won't happen, but they're easy to click, and they're just actual buttons. So just noting the difference there between a third party and apple's first party case- and let's see last but not least this case here, if it matches with these colors yeah, but nowhere near as much as the white matches with uh. Basically, everything I think the white still wins with matching the most amount of cases and the black wins in the uh just sleekness category, because it maps everything out and attracts the least amount of attention out of all of them, but that is the 12 mini here in the black color.
