Another first for our first responders.

Today's update is all about First Responders, and how we're helping to streamline their life-saving work. This week, Verizon Public Sector and Motorola Solutions announced Group First Response. This is a mission-critical, push-to-talk solution that leverages LTE to enable first responders to communicate seamlessly via voice, data, and video across different devices. This means Group First Response can be integrated with land mobile radio systems, extending push-to-talk communications to public safety users without radios or outside coverage areas. First Responders can have group calls via voice and video, share files, work with dispatchers, request video and in those critical moments when seconds matter, our network will be there. Congrats to our Public Sector team for helping strengthen such an important part of our lives.

You'll notice a theme today - public sector. People who serve in our communities in so many ways, like first responders and educators. Tami Erwin wrapped up the Women in Business series with a conversation with a few groundbreaking female leaders in the public sector this week. Their discussion focused on leadership, the role of female mentors and employee care and wellness. How do you prepare your team as you think about the uncertainty of the situation they might face and the changing set of information that's available for you in terms of how do you keep your employees safe and how do you then care for the customers that you're serving in the general public? Well we've never seen such an equally balanced of the internal customer versus the external customer and for us, or for me specifically you know, my firefighters are my internal customer and how I take care of them, our focus has always been how we take care of our community and as firefighters, you know we'll get to ourselves next and we immediately recognize we can't operate like that and it's really, really hard to be able to take that mentality and have firefighters understand if we don't care for you first in some of these scenarios there is nobody to care for the community.
