Alcatel 1 Review

Hey guys and welcome to another episode of quick expert reviews today were Canon Alcatel one another Android gold device which I'm going to review the previous one Alcatel free, TH tab was pretty impressive in my opinion, especially for the price you pay, so I'm quite happy. That Alcatel continues with their entry-level handsets running on Android Go, which is pretty much a lightweight version of an Android operating system, which means it doesn't lag as much. It doesn't consume as many resources of your smartphone and that obviously, in turn helps with, for example, battery life and so-and-so on. So considering the phone costs 50 pounds, it's nice that you do get one removable battery, which you can obviously replace if you'd like to you, do get the micro USB cable, which I've just shown you in the box, which is always nice, but you can actually charge your phone, and you do actually get headphones as well. I'm, actually curious. If the headphones do have a built-in microphone and yes, they actually do so you, if you pay fifty pounds, and you get a handset battery charging, cable and headphones.

That's pretty decent. Now, let's have a look at the handset itself, so we've got the power button on the side, volume down volume, up, headphone jack, LED flash and an up to eight megapixel camera on the back micro USB and a microphone on the bottom. Then we've got the earpiece and a loudspeaker as well on the front. There is no loudspeaker on the back or on the bottom or anything like that, and there is also up to five megapixel camera on the front now, in order to get to the device itself, we need to remove the back cover. Yes, the back cover is removable and when we do manage to do that, we can slide in the NATO SIM card, the micro SD card, if we'd like to up to 64 gigabytes and obviously the battery itself.

So let's close that down I know it looks like it's an Alcatel calls it a brush metallic finish, but it is just a plastic back cover so yeah. Let's turn the handset on and let's have a look at what we've got here on the offer 450 pounds. So as you can see, mm-hmm. Okay, that's interesting. Android go assistant files, go everything, has a gold moniker but, like I said it is a pretty lightweight in terms of.

As you can see, everything runs really smooth and the actual phone performance. There is some sort of MediaTek processor entry level, processor, quad-core processor, but it's not that important. What is important is a very decent battery life, which is around two days. What is important is that the system does run pretty smooth, as you can see yourself, and I'm actually curious, which edition of Android go. Have we got in here on the Alcatel one and 8.1 point? Oh, now it does show Android security, past level of fifth of September, but after the reveal, I've updated the phone, and it came up with November security update, so all the vulnerability, vulnerable and abilities. Yes, all the things that might go wrong prior to November 2018 have been patched with the 8.1 point Oh. Apart from that, let's have a look.

What does the phone has on offer in here? So in terms of sound, we do get the sound enhancement which is Audio Enhancer for earphone and volume booster for the speaker. As you as I mentioned before, on the top, we've got a front facing speaker, so basically just enhances the loudness, but it doesn't enhance the sound quality. The phone itself is pretty loud. So if you're thinking about buying the phone for a senior member of your family, and you're not very fond of the Douro 8035 which I've reviewed as well, then this might be a decent option in terms of advanced features. You've got to reseed, which switch to allow apps running in backgrounds.

Okay, all right, so it prevents the system from shutting down the apps running. In the background which Android does kind of do then we've got when it wants to like to improve the performance. Then we get the shortcuts on the lock screen, so we can adjust the shortcuts if we'd like to, then we've got the smart manager which allows us to do okay. So basically you can prevent apps from auto launching when you restart the phone, the phone itself doesn't have a fingerprint sensor or a face recognition scanner, but at least you do get the pin pattern and and and a password lock. Then you've got the 100 mode and a full screen apps so 100.

So you can turn the 100 mode, and you can even change the size of the screen.3.5 4 inch and I need to turn it on first for it to work, I'm 4.5, so it's easier to operate with one hand, and now the phone itself has only 8 gigabytes of internal storage and one gigabyte of RAM. However, like I said you can expand the memory and, if you'd like to with a memory card, so pretty neat so far. Now the interesting thing is that you've got this 5 inch display all following. You will come here in a second you can this 5 inch display, which only has like 960 by 480 resolution. So it's not even full HD full 1080p, but it's not that bad, and this is like a social screen.

So if you'd like to can take 4 pictures, and it like matches them simultaneously but next to each other. But if you like to can download an app called motive, for example, which is free on Play Store, and it does the same thing for you in terms of video recording, you can record in full HD at 30 frames per second, and you do get a video Immunization, albeit it's only electronically I am stabilized. So there is no optical image stabilization now in terms of the picture quality. Obviously the pictures will be at the very end of the video, but it's decent it does it's. The camera.

Does its job pretty? Well, you do get this shortcut on the Left if you want to turn the HDR on or change the and the color filters, but overall, if you need to take a picture of a document or like a mug like myself yeah, you can use that camera to take some shots. No, it's not going to win any prizes, but it does its job. So, overall, pretty decent package battery life. The system is pretty fluid. What I recommend the phone for 50 quid I? Think it's going to be difficult to find something by then, but yeah.

Thanks for watching another episode of quick expert reviews, and I'll speak to you soon guys bye. You.
