Hey guys soccer from sake ticket in today's video, we're going to be doing a full comparison between the first generation iPad Pro that was released in 2018 versus the second generation iPad Pro that was released in 2020. So, of course, a lot of people are wondering whether they should upgrade from the iPad Pro 2018 to the iPad Pro 2020 and in this video we'll do a side-by-side comparison of every aspect of these tablets and in the end of the video I'm gonna. Let you guys know whether you need to upgrade or even which one to buy, because you can find the older iPad Pro 2018 on eBay and some other websites secondhand pretty cheap. So let's dive in and get started now, let you know the first part of this video I'm gonna concentrate on every single thing. That is exactly the same, and the second part of the video I'm going to switch over to what is actually new and what is different, and then we're going to move on to a conclusion whether you should update or not or which one to choose. So, let's dive in.

So, let's start with everything that is the same all right, so I'm going to talk about the display and the display quality real quickly. We still have two iPad pros: there's the 11-inch model and the 12 point 9 inch model, that's gonna, be exactly the same. We have models with two different sizes for 2020 and 2018. Nothing has changed when we look at the actual display and the display quality. Again, nothing has changed.

Everything is exactly the same: both iPads have a liquid Retina display. They had the same exact resolution of twenty-eight. Eighty-eight by sixteen sixty-eight and, of course, 264 pixels per inch --is and the actual display quality is exactly the same technology. You got the promotion technology on both of these iPads and the p3 white color display. So rest assured nothing has changed as far as display.

Now, let's move on and talk about the dimensions. Interestingly enough, that dimensions of these products is exactly the same length, same height, same thickness, but the iPad Pro 2020 is a gram heavier than the older version. That's it as far as the design is concerned from the front they are exactly the same, but from the rear. The only slight difference is the camera which I'm going to be talking about in a little in more detail, but the design wise, the camera on the back is a little different and that's probably why the iPad Pro 2020 is a little heavier, but beyond that nothing same construction quality. Now, of course, when we talk about the battery, so you don't have to worry about.

What's in there, you don't have to worry about the William hours, the battery capacity Apple rate, both of these products as having 10 hours of battery life and that's a combination of surfing the web watching video and listening to music. Ok, so same exact battery life, so you can see that so far these tablets are pretty similar. They're, both going to be compatible with the second-generation Apple Pencil. Nothing to worry about right there. They both support the Apple keyboard and they're.

Both gonna support the upcoming magic keyboard. So nothing to worry about there. They both support the magic keyboard and, of course they both have for speaker system with the same exact quality. The speaker's have not gotten an upgrade, it's the same speaker system from the 2018 iPad Pro and finally, the front-facing camera is a 7 megapixel. FaceTime camera is the same on both of these products no upgrade and, of course they both have the USB type-c connector, and that's it.

That's everything that's same on both of these iPads I'm going to drop, a quick summary on the screen, so I can take a look at it side by side and, like I, said, a lot of this stuff is the same. Now, let's move on and talk about what is actually different and whether it matters or not the biggest thing, and the most obvious thing is the iPad Pro obviously has a brand-new camera setup. Ok, so the camera is gonna, be better. We have two cameras on the iPad Pro 20/20. We have a 12 megapixel standard camera and a 10 megapixel super wide camera.

So you get that versatility on the iPad Pro 2018. You only have one camera that has 12 megapixels, but the quality of that camera is gonna, be lower than the 20/20 iPad Pro, so the 20/20 iPad Pro not only has a better main camera. It also has two cameras and in relation to the camera, it's gonna record, better videos and get this. This is this might be important for some people, the iPad Pro 20/20 gets a mic upgrade. So when you record your voice with that iPad with a 20/20 iPad Pro, it is going to sound much better than the iPad Pro 2018 now iPad Pro 2018 is not bad, but the iPad Pro 2020 simply is better.

When it comes to microphone and the camera. A lot of people don't even take photos with cameras on their tablets. If you are one of those not a big deal, but if you're somebody that is thinking about it, then you might want to consider the iPad Pro 2020. Now, let's move on and talk about one more thing on the iPad Pro 2020 has an 12 Z processor, the iPad Pro 20 18 has an 12, X processor. Here's the funny part, the performance of both these processors is exactly the same: they're virtually identical you're, not getting any kind of performance boost when it comes to the actual processor.

When you look at the GPU, the graphics performance, you get a slight boost, because the 12 Z has eight cores for graphics. The 12 X has seven cores for graphics, but when I do run a benchmark and put them next to each other or perform a heavy-duty activity such as editing a movie they're really virtually is no difference between these two iPads, which is interesting. If you're thinking, you're going to get a net performance, upgrade anything significant forget about it, you're not getting it. Your iPad Pro 2018 is still a powerhouse. Now one thing I do want to let you know with the iPad Pro 2018 you're, only getting four gigabytes of RAM.

Unless you got the one terabyte model, the 2018 iPad Pro had six gigabytes only with the one terabyte model. All the other storage options came at four. Now, when you get the iPad Pro 2020, all versions have six gigabytes of RAM doesn't make too much of a difference when it comes to performance, but something you should know- and one thing I did forget to mention the actual camera, so the camera module on the iPad Pro 2020 does have a LIDAR scanner. Now, LIDAR scanner is gonna. Give you enhanced performance when it comes to augmented reality.

So, for example, it's just gonna work, much better with the measure app that you get with the iPad, because the augmented reality is now using an advanced LIDAR scanner that can scan 3d environments and replicate them in your iPad accurately, as opposed to just a regular, augmented reality on the iPad Pro 2018, which is so pretty good. But this is just going to be a better again. If you don't care about augmented reality and again, a lot of consumers. Don't it's not a big deal, definitely not worth upgrading. If you don't even use the camera all right, so that's basically it so that's! What's different on the processor like I said it's virtually, they are different, but they're virtually identical with an extra graphics core.

The camera on the iPad Pro 2020 is definitely gonna, be a little better when it comes to quality, recording and also the mic recording, but just what everything is exactly the same: the display sizes, the display quality, the sound quality from the speakers, the dimensions, the build quality. All that stuff is the same exact software experience. All these iPads support the magic keyboard. They support the trackpad, they support the mouse. They support the keyboard.

So don't worry about any one of those all right. So we've seen all the similarities and all the differences. And now, let's do a conclusion: do you need to upgrade absolutely not unless you really need that extra camera? That's it! The processor is not worth an upgrade. Okay, only the camera is so. You have to think to yourself have to sell my old iPad and then use the money that I get from that one and buy the new one.

How much am I spending just to get a brand-new camera? That's all you don't worry about, so do not upgrade if you're in the market to buy one of these guys. It actually is better to get the 2018 iPad Pro used or maybe refurbished from a from any website that you can find, because you are gonna, be saving a lot of money. But if you have the cash, and you're a first-time buyer, just go into two-and-twenty model. You're going to be fine, but, like I said, there is no performance, big performance difference between these guys, they're, virtually identical alright. So that brings us to the end of this video.
