ZTE Blade A3 Prime - Pros and Cons!

What's going on everyone, this is Kevin here coming at you with ZTE blade, a3, prime pros and cons. So let's get started so in this video, I'm going to be going over my top pros and cons for the ZTE blade, a3 prime. I have five pros five cons and let's get started with the pros now. The first pro with this phone is that we're getting a fingerprint sensor on the back and for a phone in this price range at 99? That's not extremely common! So let's give that a try right now, so that was decently quick there and as an added additional bonus. We also have face authentication here with the device, so you can either unlock it via pin code via the fingerprint sensor or via face unlock or pick whichever one you want to do so very awesome that we do get a lot of different options here with the phone. The second pro, with the ZTE blade.

A3 prime, is the software now with this device, we're getting android 10, and we're getting a very clean variant of it. So there's no bloatware pre-installed. Now I did add quite a few of my own applications here on the phone to use as I test out the device, but beyond that, it's a pretty stock experience here. So that's awesome, especially with these lower end carrier phones, because I know that quite often, unfortunately, they get a bunch of bloatware from the carrier or from the company. That's selling the phone.

So with this device from ZTE, there is no bloatware, and you're getting a very good software experience here, with no glitches or other issues at all. The third pro with the phone is that we're getting a dual flash on the back now, that's not only rare with higher end devices, but certainly lower end devices. You don't see that very often. In fact, this is one of the few phones that I've even seen with a dual flash. So that's really great, especially if you're going to be taking photos when it's darker outside or even completely low light, because you get double the amount of flash ability.

So that's very interesting with the phone, and I'm glad that ZTE decided to give us two different flashes coming in at number. Four is the storage that they're giving us so with the phone we're getting 32 gigabytes of internal storage. Now that might not seem like too much initially but 32. Gigs is not bad again for a 99 device and that's certainly going to come in handy and from that 32 gigs. You do get 20 gigabytes available right out of the box.

Now it is possible that you might run out of storage as time goes on, and thankfully the phone does have a micro SD card slot, so you can put in a micro SD card up to two terabytes, so you're not going to run out of storage with this phone if you do get a micro SD card and of course I do like phones that have 64 gigabytes minimum, but again at 99, I feel like 32. Gigs is certainly very fair. I'm definitely glad that they didn't give us 16 gigabytes, because that's definitely not enough and finally, for number five. I really like how we're getting squared off corners here on the display. Now, back like a year two years ago, every phone had squared off corners, but after apple started, giving us rounded corners with their various iPhones.

It seems, like every other carrier had to follow what they were doing, and they abandoned these squared off corners. Now, some people could argue that we're getting more of an old-school design here with the ZTE blade, a3, prime, and certainly considering that we are getting thicker bezels on the top and bottom. That can be said, but at the same time I like how we're getting maximum screen real estate here by having squared off corners- and I wish more devices- would offer that, and also if you are one of those people that doesn't like having a notch or hole punch in the display, then this phone certainly might be an option for you. Let's now discuss my top five cons with this device. Now I do want to clarify that these cons, especially for a phone at 99, certainly is nitpicking, but I still wanted to point out the top five worst things with the phone.

So you know exactly what you're getting into if you do happen, to buy it so starting off with number one, and that is the very small battery now with the device the battery is removable. You do have to remove the back cover here on the phone, and then you technically can take the battery out and put it back in. You have to install it when you get the phone because it comes separately in the box, and we're getting a capacity of 2 660 William hours now I know, there's going to be some people that mention that hey it's not so bad that we're getting a lower capacity, because at least you can get multiple batteries and swap them out and in theory that would make sense, and that's certainly one of the benefits with having a removable battery. However, I don't really know of where you can buy additional batteries for this phone, I'm not aware of there being anywhere where you can purchase them, so that benefit doesn't really apply here with the phone unless ZTE starts selling these batteries on their own, but I can't imagine they would do that. So the point is: is that you're not going to get quite as long of battery life with this device compared to other phones that offer bigger batteries? The second con, with the ZTE blade a3 prime, is the large bezels on the top and bottom.

I already touched on this a little earlier, but in general they are pretty thick. I don't think it's a dealbreaker necessarily again for a phone in this price range that's to be expected, but it still would have been cool if they were a bit smaller. Not only would it give us a smaller footprint for the device, but also just make things look nicer now coming in at the third con of the device. Is that we're only getting two gigabytes of ram now in 2020, I feel like minimum. Any device should give us at least three, but we are just getting two and you most likely will be able to live with just having two gigabytes of ram, especially if you just do more basic tasks like phone calls and text messages.

But if you are looking to do more complicated tasks like quite a bit of social media or switching from one app to the next, then you are going to run into some setbacks by just having two gigabytes. The fourth con with the phone is that we don't have portrait mode at all. Now you probably already noticed that, because there's only one camera here in the back, but there's no portrait mode for the front, camera or rear camera. So if you are someone that's really into having portrait mode, then you're not gonna. Have that feature, so you might want to choose a different phone and finally, for the last con with the phone.

That is that we have a headphone jack on the top. Now I prefer the headphone jack to be on the bottom, and let me explain why, so I have my headphones right here, and I'm going to plug it into the top, and the problem is that if you are using the phone- and you have your headphone up here- sometimes the wire might get in the way, and another issue too, is that when you're listening to audio- and you want to put the phone in your pocket- typically, if you're holding your phone, and then you put it in your pocket- you just go straight down with the device and have the top of the phone enter your pocket first. But of course, if you do that with the headphones plugged in that's not going to work out at all, whereas we had the headphones plugged in through the bottom, and then you put the phone in your pocket head first, then things would work out very nicely, and I know some people might suggest. Why? Don't you just put the bottom of the phone in your pocket? First. Well, that's kind of awkward to do because, if you're holding your phone, then you want to put it in your pocket.

You have to like then grab it from the top and then slowly drop it in your pocket. So that's just not as intuitive or natural again I don't feel like it's a dealbreaker having the headphone jack on the top, especially nowadays with more and more people using wireless headphones anyway. But that's just something I wanted you to keep in mind. If you are considering this phone, but in general I think the ZTE blade e3 prime, is a decent budget option, especially at 100 bucks in 2020. I certainly don't think it's worth any more than 100 bucks, but for 99 I feel like it is fairly priced and for many people out there it will be a decent budget option, but in general I'm really curious to know what your thoughts are about the phone and if you think it is a good choice, of course, if you are deciding to go with visible, there really aren't too many options available for you.

You pretty much have to go with one of the phones, that's sold from visible store and if you do want to go with an unlocked device, then it's pretty hit or miss. Sometimes you'll be able to find a phone that works, but then other times you won't. So it's a little different from other carriers like cricket or T-Mobile, where you can just pop in your sim into the majority of phones out there, and it's going to work visible, is a bit particular about which phones they allow working on their network. Now, thankfully, this phone does work, because this is an official visible device. But the point is that if you are looking to spend around 100 bucks for a device, that's going to work on visible, then this is one of just several choices available.

But I hope you enjoyed this video if you did give it a thumbs up- and I will see you in the next one.
