Xiaomi Poco F3 vs X3 Pro: Battery Drain & Charging Test!

Hey, what's up guys, it's Darius, and today we're testing and comparing the battery life and charging speed of the brand new Xiaomi Poco devices, the f3 and the x3 pro, as always, they're on the same Wi-Fi network with Bluetooth and location enabled, and I've matched the brightness on both of them. But let's jump right in with YouTube now they're, both very good devices, but there's a few differences. First, the battery capacity, the f3 has a respectable 4520 William hour large battery, but the x3 pro has an even bigger 5160 William hour battery, and you actually notice if it's quite a thick device. Another big difference is the display. Both of them are the same size at 6.67 inches with a 1080p resolution, and they're also both running at a fixed 120 hertz. But the difference is that the f3 is an AMOLED, while the x3 pro is only an LCD.

It'll, definitely be very interesting to see the difference between these devices now to keep it fair enough, not set them to dark mode, but keep in mind. If you did run in a dark mode, the f3 would have even better battery life an hour in, and you already see a massive difference in battery life, which is very surprising to me if 96 on the f3, but only 90 on the x3 pro that could very much be down to the difference in display technology. But let's keep going with some web browsing. This app auto reverses a web page. I've set it to 30 second intervals and an hour later, the trend continues.

We have the same six percent gap between them, 88 on the f3 and 82 on the x3 pro now we're going to move on to some Instagram. Another big difference between these devices is the processor. The x3 pro has a snapdragon 860, while the f3 has an 870. Both are 7 nanometer chips, but the 870 is obviously a little more powerful, and it has 5g built in if you're enjoying this video so far, it'd be much appreciated if you drop a like down below with three hours in and the f3 has extended on its lead, it's now at 81 percent, while the x3 pro is at 74. Now we're going to move on to some gaming with subway surfers, and here you can definitely see a difference in display technology.

I don't think it translates well on camera, but in real life there was a big difference. The f3 was a lot more saturated with nicer, colors and deeper blacks. An hour later, the gap has increased once more 71 on the f3 and only 60 on the x3 pro it lost 13 this round, while the f3 only lost 10. Now we're going to run a few benchmarks, starting with geek bench 5 and unfortunately, f3 had an issue which I previously already had on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 pro, it seems to block the internet connection to benchmark apps, not sure why that is, and it's weird that it works on the x3 pro. But unfortunately I cannot show you the benchmarks results because it just refused to do it.

The same goes for the 3d mark, benchmark and an tutu. It's very unfortunate, but there's nothing really. I can do about it. Instead, we're now going to move on to a standby test, as we usually don't use our devices constantly non-stop throughout the day. We're at 67 on the f3 and 57 on the x3 pro by the way, if you want to pick up any of these devices, there's a link to the best deals currently available, definitely go check it out now, they've been in standby for 10 hours now, and they both did incredibly well.

The f3 only lost 2 percent, but the x3 pro even beat that losing only one percent which is insane, but now we're going to move on to Netflix. It really drained the battery on the x3 pro it's now down to only 40, while there's 58 remaining on the f3. My guess would be that it's due to the black bars on the side which drain battery on the LCD panel on the x3 pro but don't drain any battery due to the f3's AMOLED panel. Now we're going to move on to a Zoom call. Now, after our 40-minute meeting, they both did equally well.

The f3 lost 10 and the x3 pro lost 11. Now we're going to move on to some 4k video recording and a little weird was that it only records video eight minutes at a time which seems to be a thing with Xiaomi devices. The same thing happened on the Redmi Note 10 pro, I'm not sure why it's not overheating or out of storage or anything. But I guess it's not a big deal. We just hit the seven-hour mark in the last round.

They both equally lost 19 percent, the x3 pro now only has 10 remaining and the f3 29. Now we're going to move on to some more light gaming and after seven hours and 38 minutes the Poco x3 pro dried, which, to be honest, is a good result, but I definitely did not expect this. It has a much bigger battery than the f3 pro and the only differences is the processor and the LCD versus AMOLED. I personally wouldn't have thought that it made that much of a difference. The f3 is still going strong, though hitting the eight-hour mark with 21 remaining we're now going to move on to some twitch streaming an hour later.

It's still at 13, remaining we're going to jump into some tick-tock and the f3 lasted a whopping nine hours and 48 minutes, which is an amazing result. I definitely did not expect this, but now we're going to move on to the charging test, but before we do, let me quickly tell you about this. Video sponsor NordVPN is a service that lets you encrypt your internet traffic. I'm sure you already know what a VPN is. It basically lets you access the internet securely.

It protects your private data, especially when you're using a public Wi-Fi, for example. Furthermore, it also allows you to unblock movies and series from different regions on Netflix and other streaming services, which I've actually done a bunch recently, and it actually works. I've used other VPNs in the past where it didn't. You can connect up to six devices simultaneously and there's no data logging. Personally, I've used quite a few VPNs in the past, but what's great about NordVPN is how easy and fast you can set it up and the speed you think when you're connected to the internet on the other side of the world, that it would be slow, but I've had no issues whatsoever.

You can save up to 70 of a subscription and currently for a limited time. Only if you go with a two-year plan, you get an additional free month and a free surprise gift. If you use the link in description below and promo code Darius k now back to the video now they both have the same 33 watt fast charging, but they have different battery capacities, obviously so be quite interesting to see how fast they charge now. The great thing is that they both actually come with the charging, brick included, which is very nice, especially given that they are not the most expensive devices out there.15 minutes in the x3 pro is at 30 percent, while the f3 is already at 37, you can see the temperatures here. The f3 is a couple of degrees, warmer half an hour in the x3 pro is at 57, while the f3 is at a whopping 70 already, but again it's a lot warmer as well now at 41 degrees Celsius, while the x3 pro is only at 37.2 degrees.45 minutes in the x3 pro is at 81, while the f3 is almost fully charged at 96 percent, and now the temperature has also dropped. Now it's actually a few degrees cooler than the x3 pro and after around 52 minutes, the f3 was fully charged, which is quite fast and is exactly what Xiaomi advertised it's also now at a cooler, 33.2 degrees Celsius. The x3 pro is at 91 percent, an hour in it's at 97 and after one hour and five minutes, it's also finally fully charged at a cool 30.5 degrees. It's not a bad result, but unfortunately it is a little slower than advertised.

Xiaomi advertises a full charge in 59 minutes, so it took around 10 longer than advertised now. What do you guys? Think of these results, the battery life and the charging speed and also, let me know in the comments down below what other videos you'd like to see on these devices, don't forget to check out this video's sponsor NordVPN by clicking the link below and make sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell to not miss any of my upcoming videos, and I'll see you guys in the next one.
