OnePlus 8 Pro vs 7T & 7 Pro | Three Generations Compared

A little beautiful peeps I'm Chris from Tech's Burton, and what we have here is the Battle of the pros, which may admit the Sun, like a bunch of Street walkers about to get in there are some fisticuffs when it actually is, is every pro smartphone that OnePlus has launched over the past 12 months so got the fresh new one plus eight pro here on the right just launched this week. We've got the original one plus seven Pro here on the left and then the piggy in the middle, the 70 port, which came at the end of 2019, and what I'm going to do for your viewing pleasures a full side by side comparison. So you can see how the series has evolved and if you've got, for instance, last year's seven bra should I upgrade to the airport this year and for more on the latest greatest tech. These do poke subscribe and ding that a lot of occasions, Bell cheers now. First up, if you want to compact on set you'll, definitely have to look elsewhere. The original one per sample is a six point.

Six seven inch beast same size for the 70 point and the ear paws actually increased in size to six point: seven eight inches because you have to get in pretty close to doors, any kind of size, difference, there's bugger all really. Those bezels, of course, couldn't get any skinnier really. You've got a nice full view finish on all three of these smartphones, with the slight exception of this little dinky pinhole cutout camera here in the top left corner and the 1+8 pro, of course, the OnePlus sample and some people use the cute little pop-up selfie cam instead. So that gives you this glorious, proper, full view finish for all of your media apps, whatever you want, and now, let's flip them all over and check out the rear end and again the round bike you'll see there hasn't been a huge evolution between the three handsets. Of course.

They all feature a matte glass finish: they are anti smudge, so your greasy fingerprints won't show up very easily at all. That said, if you like a bit of shine, you can pick up the original one plus seven pro and the fresh new bumpers. It with a shiny gloss finish as well, and my favorite of the three hues is definitely the fresh new glacial green here on the OnePlus. It pro thinks it just stands out of it, while just like the nicer lighter brighter color, compared with the sauce darker blues that you used to get on the originals. Of course, one design change that you won't actually be able to see is the fresh new IP written hit on the wall plus it provides ip68 dust and water resistance, so you can rock it in the jacuzzi this room pool wherever you fancy.

The original two models were water resistant, but it didn't have an official IP rate and so best not to fully submerge them, and all three, thankfully, are constructed from Gorilla Glass front and back saw so far, certainly proven very Hardy on the older models and imagine the OnePlus, a pro will be just as tough an SIRPA is in that the one plus a problem doesn't come with a pre-installed screen protector, unlike the other two now before we check out the rest of the hard way on these mighty OnePlus handsets. Let's have a bit of a gander at the software side of things. Now the good news is it's. The latest version of Android 10 on all three of these handsets and came out in the box for the 70 port on the airport and the 7po has since been updated to it, along with oxygen wish, but wish eternally Sean Connery for a second there oxygen or s version 10. It is the latest 10.5 here on the OnePlus it poor, though, which should be coming to the 7 and the 70 imminently, as well as 10.5, doesn't exactly change things up massively. The main difference is the fact that you no longer have the shelf.

If you swipe right on your main desktop what you get instead is the Discover window, which is basically the usual google fever, is just throw us a bunch of articles and videos, and things like you, which it thinks you were like. You've also now got an improved arc mode and some new motion wallpapers few little bits like that. But nothing too extravagant do like me a bit of oxygen, OS, nice, fresh it and clean lots of customization thrown in there. The OnePlus is generally fairly good, with the updates with other sampler simple and the 70 port, both I'll still stick on the January 2020 security updates. Hopefully, that'll get freshened up soon.

Now, as you'd expect from any smartphones that brand themselves pro, you get some very smart display tech on all three of these handsets slightly bigger panel, of course, on the OnePlus they're poor, but the original ?, let's face it in exactly miniature. It's a fluid AMOLED display in all three cases as well, so nice bright poppy colors, but you can dial it down for more natural finish. If you like in the display settings all three hundreds all the way back to the original one percent off a quad, HD plus maximum resolution, or you can dial it down to Full HD. If you want to preserve the battery life while sticker on auto switch, which allows the phone itself to actually determine what the best resolution at any given moment will be. All three smartphones enjoy a fast refresh rate as well, which is great when just flicking around for the UI or enjoying it a supported game, but it is better here on the OnePlus.

It probably got a 120 Hertz maximum refresh rate combo, with a ninety hurt on the other, two I've got to say it personally. The difference is minimal to my eyes. Certainly, the original two answers are very, very smooth indeed, and as for the actual picture, quality again very, very little difference between them all nice, sharp pictures, definitely really nice. Natural-Looking colors you've got it's your ten plus support fee, supported content on the likes of Netflix and stuff like that is also a great stuff and fresh new OnePlus airport is the brightest to the bunch as well, with 1300 maximum nits of brightness law, the original tooth. But if they were around the 1000, it sells super bright as well.

So it doesn't matter which one you're checking your messages on, watching a movie outdoors or whatever you'll still get clear visibility. The OnePlus it pro also boasts more natural colors. It's got a GN CD, just not a sport, color difference, written of 0.44, really strong, color accuracy, and you also get the motion, graphics, smooth and feature on here as well, which can basically upscale the frames per second on you and supported content from services like Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime. So everything basically looks smoother I found that it does make a difference for any shots, involve and pain, basically predictable motion, otherwise up course, action shots things like that tend to not really sure much of an improvement. You've also got a stereo speaker, output and all three of these OnePlus pro smartphones, close with the usual Dolby Atmos support.

Of course, super powerful sound on that top volume and the clarity doesn't really suffer either. So you can quite happily watch TV, show kick back with a movie or live in and nor easy kitchen, some other really loud obnoxious, environment, and you have a better live captioning here on the 1+8 pro as well, but that's a feature that should be coming across to the older 70 pro and the 7 pro. So they know a headphone jack action on any of these 1 plus smartphones, though so it's either a Type C pair of headphones, a dongle or a bit of Bluetooth action instead. As for the security, well, of course, it is an in display optical fingerprint sensor and all three of this buzz. It has to be quick and responsive and all free, and of course you do have the fierce recognition as well.

I've to wait a slight moment just for that pop-up camera to pop up on the original 770 books. But honestly, it is quick as anything very impressive stuff. Indeed, as you can see there, of course, slightly quick one I want the zipper, because it doesn't have to wait for that. Pop-Up selfie camera to jam into action on the performance front. Well, the original one plus seven port and the 70 people still absolutely smashed it.

Thanks that snap, drunk it 5/5, chipset, backed by up to 12 gigs of ram here on the original you've, got a choice of only 8 gigs. It's not really much of a choice on the 70 pro. Of course, the fresh new 2020 model of one-plus airport does have them beat for overall speed thinks is stuttering, it's 6 v, chipset, backed by again up to 12 gigs of ram CS. Those super demanding gamers will, of course, we want and the fresh new airport with that super stick performs and, of course, the 120 hertz display all three of them have a good Game, fierce action on them as busy dedicates all the smartphone's resources to your gaming session, especially if you knock on the flat in mode, which basically means that none of yet other background tasks can Nick all your precious bandwidth or anything perfect for a better Pusey, mobile and other online titles. You've got graphics, optimization on there as well and that'll also block any pesky notifications or anything as well.

So you know getting your boss Pete. We need to actually do some work when you're halfway through a frag fest and if you are going to be indulging in a bit of the pub G's during your lunch break or perhaps not during your lunch break. You naughty person, you then the good news is you've got 240 Hertz touch response rate on both the 70 Pro and this fresh new ear Pro as well. So every swipe and poke is instantly registered by that display, which is, of course, a vital for games like pub G where every millisecond counts, then the online gamers will deftly be better serviced by the one plus it brought as well, because not only do you get full 5g support, thanks to the ex 55 more em, that's stuffed in there. We've also got Wi-Fi 6 as well, so its proper future-proof.

Now, on the battery front, the Mon plus 70 port was a bit of a piddly upgrade compared with the original, with a four thousand and eighty-five Williams L come over the original four thousand William. So, like the original you just about squeeze through a full day of uses, no, he didn't absolutely hammer it with too much gaming Skype sessions. Things like that! Well, you did get the upgraded warp touch.30 T, compared with the warp drive stay here on the original pro, which got you powered back up a little quicker here on the Whimper zip. Although the battery tech has improved quite significantly, not only is it a mighty 4500 William cell now still quite happily make it through a full day again, even on that top send the 120 Hertz, quad, HD, plus and I, found that it does not struggle, and the good news is that you also now have a wireless charging as well. This is the first one plus handset they can actually be powered up without using a cable.

You've also now got reverse wireless charging. Support for your QI support goodies. Any true one is here: buds or small, watches that also support wireless charge and just slap them on the back. You can get them powered up a user at the OnePlus, it pulls charge, and you've also now got the optimized charge and feature as well, which is great news if you leave your smartphone plugged in overnight, because of course leaving your smartphone plugged in and charging all night long will in the long term, harm your battery life it'll definitely limit the performance, but with the optimized charge, and it just trickles charges for that final few percent and finishing it off just before you generally get up for holidays log on the storage front door, there's bugger all difference really between the three you've got up to 256 gigs of storage depending on obviously which model you buy. There's no micros memory card support on any of them, unfortunately lost you off stuck with what you get, and it's you FS 3.0 and all three so nice and nippy. So now, that's once again flip all of these OnePlus handsets over to the ass end.

So we can check out that glorious camera tech and while the ones are so important, the ones are 70 post, ported quite similar optics. Overall, things have been changed up somewhat full of fresh new OnePlus April, so the setup on the 7 pro on the 70 pro is a forty-eight megapixel primary lens with Sony's AMX. Five, eight six sensors and a bit of oh, is, of course you get a 16 megapixel, ultra wide-angle lens and an 8 megapixel telephoto lens, offering three times: optical zoom. It's once again a forty-eight megapixel lens here on the OnePlus Nearpod. But this time it's used in Sony's, imx6, 8 9 sensors again with oh, is the ultra wide-angle lens has been upgraded to a 48 megapixel effort that uses Sony's mx-5 86.

Just like the primary shooter on the original Pro and the 7c. You still get any 8 megapixel telephoto lens with three times optical zoom, but you now also have a fourth 5 megapixels for Tour chromatic lens. The actual camera app itself has very similar features and all three of these smartphones one lot a couple of new bits, creeping in as you go along the line, though, such as, for instance, a special macro mode, which was introduced here for the OnePlus 70 Pro. You can quickly any easily dodge between the different lenses using these little icons down here for the ultra wide-angle lens, of course, to that three times, optical zoom, telephoto, shooter I, found that on that old or more, the photo quality is generally pretty Goods. Itched your situations can be a bit of a struggle for the 7po and the 70 pro.

Sometimes you just won't get the kind of contrast results that you really want, but let's improve slightly here on the OnePlus. It pulled off the itch just mods in general, for photo and for video have been improved, and you're also noticed that you can quickly swap to a 48 megapixel mode here on the OnePlus it ports as well, which you have to dive into the pro settings to actually do on the original 7.07 zebra and, of course, you've got a very eccentric, full or chromatic mode. Here on the OnePlus, it pauses, while using that fourth lens, which, as you can see, just bleeds a lot of the colors dry while retaining some texture. Definitely very intriguing. I'm going to be doing a lot of testing out these mores.

Although I'm not entirely sure how the everyday person will really get much out of it to be honest, but besides that it's basically business as usual as far as all the bonus features go summonses got night, skateboarding all three for those low-light shots. You've got in Quebec panorama, action, time-lapse slow-motion, even video. Your funding should have to focus 60 frames per second footage, respectable image, stabilization on all three and everything as well. But, as I mentioned before improved itch to your smarts here on the OnePlus. Eight people to do actually have a dedicated HDR mode, which you can tap on any point with a quick pork of this little icon here, and you can quite easily swap between those three different lenses of the OnePlus 8 pro as well for shooting your bit of video action and if we swap around to the front, face and selfie snappers.

Of course, it is the pop-up efforts on the original one, plus seven port and the 70 paw. But it's a 16 megapixel shooter on all three and all three you've got the likes of the portrait mode to get a bit of that on the Gorgon ice bucket effect behind you to really let your gorgeous mug really shine in that Safe Instagram action and when I say shine, I do mean it of course, scare the living Dejesus out of everyone that sees it and there you have it peeps. That, in a nutshell, is how the fresh new sampler see across stacks up against the previous two one plus pro handsets. So are you tempted to upgrade to the one plus eight pro if you've got either the previous ones? That's been great to hear thoughts down in the comments below and from what the latest greatest take. Please do poke subscribe thing that a lot of fusions Bowl and have yourselves a lovely week, people Cheers love.

You.
