XIAOMI Mi11 Ultra Unboxing and Initial Impressions By E-Got Tech

Hey guys welcome back to another video. This is Eric from me get tech. I know I've been making a lot of videos covering the four big gaming phones. So as a change of pace, I'm going to be unboxing this phone right here, you guessed it guys. This is the Xiaomi me 11 ultra on my table, ready to be unboxed. So let's go ahead and unbox this latest flagship phone from Xiaomi all right guys.

So just looking at the box, you can already tell that just like Samsung and apple Xiaomi has decided not to include the charger inside the box. So let me open it up real quick here guys. Shall we there's the phone signed by Xiaomi so inside you've got your usual quick start guide? There is a free jelly case inside, and you can already tell from this camera cut out. It looks to be a very big camera bump on the Xiaomi mi 11 DC I'll. Try the case on later guys.

Alright, nothing else in the box guys. So here is the phone guys. I get the white version over here guys, so that was a very quick unboxing experience. Guy has to do with this phone coming with nothing else inside the box, except for the phone itself, a case, the usual guide and a sim ejector tool. So, as you can see here guys, this is the ceramic white version.

The mi 11 ultra only comes in two color options, that is the ceramic black and the ceramic white. So, looking at the back here guys, the camera bump is huge. Just like the ultra phone from Samsung, like the s20 ultra and the s21 ultra, I guess, having an ultra in the phone's name means you get a huge camera bump by default, so in the same way that gaming phones are just phones that run games very well, but perform just okay on photography. This phone from Xiaomi has been built to do photography very well and, at the same time be able to play games just fine. Let me just turn on the phone real quick.

So let's go ahead and discuss some details of the phone starting off with one of the best features of the phone, which is the display. Securing an plus rating from display mate is a 6.81 inch, AMOLED quad curve display. So let's curve the top the bottom and the left and the right just like the Huawei p40 pro. That's a resolution of 1440 by 3200 and 120 hertz refresh rate. The touch sampling rate is a good 480 hertz, not as high as the other gaming phones that I recently covered, but still higher than most other normal phones and the peak brightness on this phone is 1700 nits, which is actually the highest peak brightness out of any phone out in the market.

Right now, and good news here is that the protection on this display is gorilla glass victim, so the phone should survive drops from as high as 2 meters and should be more scratch. Resistant, great news for people who choose to forego any sort of protector or tempered glass on the display, and one thing that I did notice guys- is that this phone has a pre-installed screen protector. It's a film protector, so it should protect you from normal scratches, but I don't think it'll do well in the drop test. I'll keep my eyes out guys to see if there's a good, tempered glass available for this phone. Due to the nature of the quad curve, you got curves on all sides of the phone you're, probably looking at getting something like a white stone, dome glass, so that uses UV technology.

You put the glue on it and then slap the tempered glass on top and cure it with an UV lamp. I'll show you the how-to video, so you guys will know how to put it on. So, let's test out the display settings real quick here guys, so you've got the usual reading mode, anti-flicker mode, color scheme, okay, they're saturated now, leave it as auto and refresh rate. So if you notice guys, the display resolution is set to quad HD, let's see if we can set the refresh rate to 120. Okay, there you go guys quad HD display at 120 hertz refresh rate, so you do have the best of both worlds here, guys so looking at the display guys, it is very impressive.

I've had the s21 ultra and the note20 ultra. This display, to be honest, is on par with those talking about the build and design. Next, the me11 ultra makes use of a ceramic back, which is probably why the color has ceramic on its name: ceramic white and ceramic black, and they do say that the ceramic back should be more durable and scratch resistant and one cool feature that the phone has is a rear display. It measures 1.1 inch across and is said to be the same panel as the Xiaomi mi smart band 6. So in terms of button placement guys, all the buttons are on the right side.

So you've got the power button here and the volume rockers there got one downward firing speaker, the USB c port and the sim card tray and on the top. You've got another set of speakers, and this looks like it's an IR blaster guys. So it's an infrared blaster. So if you lose your remote control for your TV or whatever device that uses an infrared sensor, then you can use this phone. So in terms of chipset guys, the mi 11 ultra carries the snapdragon 8 and the variant that I've got here.

Has the 12 gig of lpddr5 ram with 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The battery is also a very respectable 5000 my and if you use a 67 watt charger Xiaomi is claiming it can go from zero to 100 in just 36 minutes now, since the phone doesn't come with a charger guys, I had to get the 67 watt charger separately, so I will most definitely be including this phone in my battery drain and battery charge test, and one thing that this phone has is wireless charging. I've got a wireless charger here, so this is a Huawei one. Okay, let's test out the wireless charging guys- and this also has one of the fastest wireless charging around guys. It supports 67 watts wireless charging, but Xiaomi is claiming that 0-100, using that kind of charging method takes around 39 minutes and, like other flagships from Samsung and Huawei.

This phone does support reverse wireless charging. So let me see if I can turn that on, though, that reverse wireless charging only supports up to 10 watts of charging. So let me see if I can get something to test it out on hang on guys, so I've got the Huawei free buds 3 here, let's see if I can charge it, not sure if you can see it guys, but the light is definitely on that charging. Okay, it is charging guys. So if you find your other phones running low or your buds are running low, then you can charge it in a pinch using this reverse wireless charging, though, with only 10 watts, charging speed, don't expect it to charge up really fast and now for the start of the show guys, which is the camera system so housing.

This huge bump, which covers almost one third of the back of the phone you've, got a triple camera system consisting of a 50 megapixel primary shooter, which has been jointly developed between Xiaomi and Samsung. It offers a super large sensor, which means that night shots should be extremely detailed, guys, there's also a 48 megapixel telephoto lens, which Xiaomi's claiming also has a large sensor. It's capable of 5 times optical 10 times, hybrid and 120 times, digital zoom. So I'm really interested in doing a direct camera comparison between this phone and the other ultra phones from Samsung, and I'll definitely be including the iPhone 12 Pro max. In that comparison, guys and the third lens that we've got on this phone is 128 degrees, ultra-wide camera and if you're, one of the people who actually rely on the DXO mark score, this phone scores 143 on the DXO mark scale.

So it holds the number one spot right now and in terms of the selfie camera guys. This has a 20 megapixel, selfie shooter, since you've got that additional display on the back. You can actually use the main cameras to take selfie shots, and this phone also supports 8k video recording as well as night mode on all of his three lenses and one important feature that Xiaomi has included or added to this year's Xiaomi mi 11. Ultra is the use of a 64 point laser autofocus system, so this should all but eliminate focus hunting when using the phone for photos and for videos. So now you're probably wondering can I play games on this phone and will it heat up the Xiaomi, me 11 ultra makes use of a triple phase.

Cooling technology and Xiaomi is claiming to be the first smartphone to feature a solid to liquid to gas phase cooling system. So this should keep the very hot snapdragon 8 chips in check we'll definitely be running this phone through my benchmark test, as well as my stress test in order to validate those claims. Now, of course, like it says, on the box, this phone is tuned by Harman Kardon, so I do expect sound to be pretty good. So let me load up YouTube real, quick here, guys and run my usual NCS speaker test. Alright, guys, NCS speaker test running in three two one keeps me hmm that sounded pretty good guys.

Let me get the ROG phone 5 for comparison, okay, guys, so I've got the m11 ultra at the top ROG phone 5 on the bottom. Let's do the mi 11 ultra first, oh okay and rogue five music, so the vocals on the mi 11 ultra sounds a lot louder, but I feel that the sound overall is a lot fuller on the ROG phone 5. This is a bit more expensive than the other gaming phones.

This retails for around almost 1 000 us dollars, so you're paying premium dollars for a premium phone so to wrap it up.
