If, you were in the market for a great camera phone, and he doesn't want a Samsung Galaxy S 20, then the mate Fer die Pro and the Xiaomi me no temporal are perfect choice during the CES in Las, Vegas I had a closer look at both phones and took a lot of pictures to bring you guys, the ultimate showdown between the two Chinese giants, Huawei and Xiaomi. So let's go. This episode is sponsored by dot tech domains. If you're looking for a domain that represents your company or anything tech related, then go and check it out. The strongest point of these smartphones is the camera department. They are already considered as the best camera phones by a lot of people, including the experts from DEL mark. While there is no way Shawn, we can compete when it comes to performance, it sports the most impressive camera Department. According to the TO mark, it is the best camera phone ever alongside of the Huawei Mate. Very pro the no temporal sports, a hundred eight megapixel rear Pent camera with five times optical zoom, while the Huawei Mate very pro has a quad camera with two amazing 40 megapixel sensors.
So, let's see which one is doing better. In Vegas, we went on a trip to the married chain Falls, which is nearby, and it's super beautiful nature and I really loved it. So I stopped there and took a picture of that sign and I didn't focus on the sign. I focus on the mountain. In the background now, the image on the Men temper looks really nice actually regarding the colors sky.
But if you take a closer look at the sign in the foreground, as you can see, it looks way sharp on the mate furry pro. Also, the overall picture has way more detail and sharpness on the mate Fer die Pro. Even though the sky with the AI Pent camera is looking pretty cool because while it reduces the highlights, adjust the colors a little, so it's looking pretty fine on both devices but well, let me know down below in the comments which look you prefer and for sure guys at this beautiful spot, I all test it out the hundred eight megapixel camera for you. Now, when you have a closer look at the pictures on your smartphone, you don't see a difference at all. It's almost double in file size and well, if you zoom in so 10 times zoom, you can see it's a tiny little sharper.
Now, if you really need some pictures, what you need to print out, it maybe makes sense to take a hundred eight megapixel pictures, but in general you shouldn't do it as the benefit is very, very minimal and some errors in the image look even worse.108 megapixels, like the trees in there, because we have some really aggressive, sharpening going on as well, so I'm, not really sure if the 108 megapixels are really, really useful, but it's nice to have just in case. You really need some big pictures, which you also want to print out. Then it can actually really make sense. The new-made 30 pro comes with a more conventional 3x. Tell you lens, instead of relying on the P30 Pro's 5x folded optics.
However, thanks to a new AI raw algorithm, it actually records better detail than the P30 Pro at short and medium range. Soon, the no temporal claims to have 5x optical zoom, but only with a 5 megapixel upscale to 8 megapixel sensor. Overall, if you look at the results, the mate blows, the Xiaomi away in terms of sharpness, detail and even color, so Huawei software magic, and it's real 8 megapixel sensor is getting the job done here. The wide-angle lens in general is pretty good on both phones, but well there's a difference. So the Xiaomi is a little wider.
It's 25 millimeter, while the mate Fer die pro is 27 millimeters, wide angle, pictures and both phones are looking great and I, really love the wide angle lens for such pictures. But while I'm there's a tiny little difference between them, so we have 27 millimeters on the wall we made for the pro and a little wider, 25 millimeters on the mean now 10 Pro. Also, if you take a look at the shadows in the picture, there are actually more details on the Huawei and also there's more contrast, more color here in the pictures of the hallway. While the pictures from the Xiaomi look a little flat though, but in post editing, you can actually get all some really great results out of the Xiaomi. The Xiaomi primary camera captures more detail than any other a phone on the market, but doesn't quite beat out the best performers when it comes to dynamic range and low-light performance.
By the way in Pro Mode, it's only possible to select either raw or a hundred eight megapixels. Both are not possible together. Now, the main camera of the Xiaomi is a Samsung ISO cell, bright 80 max 108 megapixel sensor, which measures warm by 1.33 inches across that sounds kind of small, but it's actually bigger than the hallway made for the pros one. By one point, seven inch sensor in theory: a larger sensor means better light capture. However, dividing that sensor by 108 megapixels means that each pixel is just 0.8 micrometer in size, although combining four pixels together by a so-called pixel binning enables an effective size closer to 1.6 micrometer when shooting in the default 27 megapixel mode. For comparison, the Huawei made fully pros 40 megapixel one by one point.
Seven inch sensor has a 1 micrometer default size and up to 2 micrometers, when taking 10, megapixel pin snaps. So talking about the image quality of the main camera, it really depends on the situation as both are kind of using a different but still similar attempt. So you can see the samples right now on the screen, and now it's your turn. Let me know down below in the comments which phone takes better pictures for your choice: I'm, not a big fan of portraits of that fake bouquet, but well, both smartphones are getting it actually done pretty good, just where we really crashes the black. So you have a little more details and the low tones on the Xiaomi, but while also punchier colors and contrast here on the Huawei now when it comes to selfies, were always doing a way better chop here in terms of then EMA Grange.
So it does this kind of HDI effect, which is looking pretty good and will show me always you have a lot of skins moving, even though beauty facts are turned off and well, as you can see, the background is so is kind of white, so that could be better. The large main camera sensor helps to show me to take very good. Looking pictures in low-light. The sensor size alone seems to make a big enough difference, regardless of whether pixel bidding is used or not, to help capture more lights, while was doing here all religion of the camera attack, despite featuring the same main camera as our Peabody Pro Huawei, has managed to notably improve image quality of the made further pro the made 30 Pro offers extremely low noise and huge amounts of detail from its pixel bent 40 megapixel camera. While the Xiaomi comes close, but in detail, the Huawei is still leading now when it comes to video.
Both smartphones actually capable of 4k recording and also the video quality on the mate has improved a lot. So while um I will now just show you some videos side by side, so you can decide for the video quality for yourself and I will be really curious. What do you guys think about the video quality and which smartphone you guys prefer I'm going to skip my break? We're gonna, make mistake. I just want to feel about it's just what I do I enjoy polish? How do you, like the view I've, seen better, see my dreams? CPU servicing CW's? Yet all righty guys, so that was a quick overview over the cameras or some differences. I've noticed and yeah just to show you how different these cameras perform.
Also in terms of color balance, so yeah, oh well, one hundred eight megapixel camera sounds nice on the paper. It also really helps in low-light, and some pictures do look really sharp. If you can get the right light, you can get great pictures, but there's an all-rounder that always works great out of the box. I actually really prefer the wall we made 30 Pro, which is a really nice all-round a flagship for photography, alrighty guys. So we hope that you, like this video.
