Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G: First Impressions and Specifications!

How's it going guys Vaibhav here and welcome back to another video now in today's video I want to discuss Xiaomi and in particular the Xiaomi meat and youth 5g. First things. First, they could have made the name a bit easier to pronounce, but without any hesitation, let's actually get into what we're dealing with this phone. Now it's a 5g smartphone. It has the Qualcomm snapdragon 765, g5 g processor, and before we get into the specs a sort of in detail. Let's take a look at the colors.

It's got five different colors and a teardrop cell design notch on the display. So that's pretty cool. It's also shimmies, first phone with a periscope camera, and we'll get to that in just a bit. The five colors could be due to the fact that this phone is aimed towards the youth, but in my opinion, I think this phone is a very good option for anyone. Looking for a mid to budget range, smartphone, and I'll explain why so 5g, 765, G processor, up to 2.4, gigahertz I, think that's the maximum capacity. So not quite there with the 8 65.

That's the flagship level, but definitely worthy of being in any mid-range to any budget. Smartphone I think you're getting the best of both worlds in a way where you get 5g connectivity, but also good enough power to you know, run your basic tasks, etc. , etc. Now the configuration we're looking at is up to 8 gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of storage. The running memory also can range to 6 gigabytes.

If you want that option, and can get up to 64 gigabytes of storage, if you want lower storage for whatever reason now, one thing to keep in mind is that the storage is UFS 2.1 type, so it's not UFS 3.0 or 3.1. So it's the older slightly store a slower storage type, which could be a problem to some who really want a game on the smartphone. But apart from that, I, don't think it makes a huge difference. There is no micros card expansion on this phone. So just keep that in mind now I think one of the biggest selling points of the phone is the Samsung AMOLED 6.5 7 inch display it's a full HD plus panel with a 180 Hertz sampling rate. Now that does not mean its in 90 Hertz refresh rate, it's a 60 Hertz, refresh rate that can just take in user input much faster.

Now, they've done things to the screen to make it. You know more pleasing to the eye. It doesn't affect the eye too much and the colors are vivid, saturate and all of that stuff. It's also about under the screen fingerprint scanners. So obviously that's there too, and it's got HDR ten plus support, so I think in terms of multimedia coverage you're set with this panel.

But if you want a smooth experience like you might find on a 90 Hertz LCD panel, you may not get that with this phone and I think this is one of the drawbacks of the phone and that's something just to keep in mind if you're planning to purchase the phone, but I think where this phone sort of makes up for this is in the camera department. We've seen many phones offer flagship specifications with a subdued camera experience and I think this goes for an opposite approach. So we've got four cameras on this phone. The 10 Youth 5g as they call it. It's got a 48 megapixel primary sensor alongside an 8 megapixel, periscope telephoto lens the first on any Xiaomi device, an 8 megapixel ultra-wide lens and an independent macro lens.

Now the 48 megapixel lens is interesting because it actually might be OFNI visions, new 48 megapixel sensor, which tends to deliver better photos than the 64 megapixel sensor found on the imx6 86, which could be very interesting. If that's the case, we're not sure if this is sort of an OFNI vision, lens or a Sony lens. We have to confirm that there has been no official confirmation, so that's just something to keep in mind. I think it's going to produce slightly better pictures, especially going by the fact that many rumors and suggestions are pointing to it being an OFNI vision lens. It's also got pixel binning technology, but the only drawback here is that the main camera does not have optical image stabilization.

So if you were thinking of sort of replacing this with the honor 30 series or the Huawei p40 Pro, for example, I, don't think the camera is quite there yet, even though it has things like AI, etc. , etc. Now the periscope lens is interesting because it comes with an 8 megapixel resolution with 5x optical zoom, 10x, hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom, or as they call it, periscope zoom I. Think digital zoom is the way to go, and if you actually go ahead and look at this website, they actually have a sample of a photo. So this is the ultra wide-angle lens.

This is at 5x zoom, and this is at 50x zoom and the results seem very promising and not that altered. So I think. That's a pretty good representation of the camera might ring. It's also got optical image stabilization there and as far as the ultra wide-angle camera goes, I don't think it's of a high resolution to deliver your crisp photos, but it's there for your options, and you should definitely not ignore it. I mean it'll come in handy sometime or the other, the macro lens, obviously for close-up shots.

Now it's got a huge variety of different software features, including night mode document, mode, movie, mode, etc. , etc. I think half of these modes- we often not even use so if you find any of these options really useful, this could be a good phone for you, I think they're focusing a lot on AI with this, so they've got a moon mode, so everything to do with AI is present on this phone and that's why people are sort of making that natural comparison to the owner and the hallway series of smartphones. Now in terms of video, we've got 4k 30fps, not 4k 60fps. So that's something to keep in mind as well as 9 60fps slow-motion footage at 720p resolution.

So I think that about wraps up most of the primary camera specifications, the zoom is pretty cool, I'm excited to see how it performs in real life and how it compares to other smartphones in this budget price tag as well as flagship levels, smartphones now the front camera again is a 16 megapixel sensor again. Focusing a lot on AI and one thing I would have liked to see here would have been 4k video recording on the front-facing camera, because people tend to make content on a regular basis these days and to have a 4k camera on your smartphone, especially the front camera. Just helps out, so I wish they'd have that it does have AI, but it has very questionable AI features, like maybe beauty, microplastic nude, makeup, I, don't know if this is to do with the fact that this website is translated from Chinese, probably so, but even so, it just makes for some funny translations, so yeah I think that about wraps up the camera, the design, the processing power, etc. , etc. You've obviously got me you I 11 on to me.

UI 12 was actually launched, I think today, but this phone won't ship with it. It'll come as a software update at a later stage, so I think that basically brings us to other specifications like the battery and the connectivity. So we've got a 4160 William hour cell. On this thing there is no wireless charging, so that's something to keep in mind, but it does come with 20 2.5 watt charging, which, which is an — around quick chart for point or four plus sort of, so I guess in terms of charging. This makes a very good sense to have a phone that has fast charging I.

Think many smartphone manufacturers are moving towards that and that's become sort of a necessity. So that's cool to have type-c USB port, so that's pretty standard. One thing I did notice, though, is even though this thing has 5g in terms of why fights only got Wi-Fi five and many competing smartphone manufacturers have gone with Wi-Fi, 6 and 6-plus this year. So again, that is something you should keep in mind. If connectivity is a big thing for you, multi function and if C is obviously a nice thing, because people are moving towards a contactless payment solution so having this just makes sense not only in China but also on an international basis which I'm sure sort of will see in the long run, but yeah I think this just goes over the specifications once again at 192 grams and about seven point: nine millimeters thick, it's a very, very nice phone in the hand as well pretty lightweight.

If you ask me considering flagship these days, are like 217 grams and 9 millimeters thick. So again it won't be unwieldy, and it's also about a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. So that's something unique about the smartphone I, don't know if it has an IR blaster, because it does point to it having an IR blaster I might be wrong on this. Let me actually go ahead and check the images and see if it has any sort of IR, blaster I, don't think it does, but if it does, that's a plus point as well, so the photos that we see from the camera here they point had perfect quality samples. I think this is more of a lifestyle focused phone anyway.

So these samples sort of makes senses, but we'll have to see how good they are when we actually get the phone in real life which I won't get, but hopefully, in the long run, maybe through a contact. I might be able to get this phone, but a lot of camera centric features on the phone, as you can see, touting the AMOLED display, HDR 10, plus, all of that we've gone through basically liquid cooling technology, the battery life multifunction NFC linear speakers as well. So it doesn't have stereo speakers. It's got linear speakers, that's something to keep in mind so yeah. That brings us to the price.

This thing is priced at 2 thousand three hundred and ninety-nine yuan. So this says 2799 I think it's two thousand three hundred or two thousand four hundred. Let me just make sure it is: oh, it's 2019 nine yuan, so that's the starting price of this phone and if we actually go and convert that to theorems, it's going to be a thousand eighty-seven theorems now for the international audience that translates to around the two hundred and ninety-six dollar mark, and it ranges from that all the way to the highest end configuration which sells for two seven, nine. So if we just pop a seven in between we've, got a price tag of three hundred and ninety-five dollars or so, which makes this a great smartphone I think what we're hearing from the LG velvet series of it being priced at around is seven hundred to the seven hundred and fifty dollar mark. This is like the perfect smartphone in between now granted.

It doesn't have ip68 certification, which is something that the LG velvet might come with, but even so I think this phone is one of the better phones to buy if you're looking for five G at a budget with a great screen and great performance, so yeah those were my thoughts on the meat and youth edition 5g once again, I think the name is a bit too convoluted. They could have just called it. The meat and youth, or I don't know the youth or something like that. That would have just made it a bit easier to pronounce. But let me know what you guys think about the phone down in the comments.

Are you thinking this is just an additional phone that they want to add to their portfolio and won't serve that much or do you think it's one of the more genuine phones that might do really well in this market segment, leave a thought down in the comments and make sure you subscribe for more videos coming up very shortly. Thanks for watching this was Bob and I'll. See you in the next one adios.
