Unboxing New iPhone 12 Pro Graphite Black & Hands On MagSafe

Today we're going to be unboxing the new iPhone 12 Pro graphite model. This is the base of the iPhone 12 pros. That means it's coming in at 128 gigabytes. We've also got some mag safe accessories here, but let's jump into this and see what's inside the box. So this is the box. You can see right off the bat purely that dark color on the sides.

You can see the iPhone logo, and you can see how thin this is compared to the previous iPhone 11 Pro case, so they've definitely slimmed it down. I wonder why, but we'll take a look at that in a second here. So let's open this up- and the first thing we see is the iPhone 12 Pro we'll peel away this plastic in white here, and we'll put this to the side for just a second and go through the rest. We have the USB to lightning cable. You have very small minimalistic manual, so Apple has just done away with pretty much everything wasteful.

I guess that came with the iPhones in the past, this very important, the sim ejection tool and, lastly, one sticker. So really, really minimalistic. Here, just to give you a quick uh example here, the iPhone 11 Pro had a full manual and quick start guide with two stickers. You got your air pods or ear pods, and you also got this an USB power brick. So, basically, if you didn't purchase an iPhone, 11 you're missing out on these two accessories here, which are going to run you twenty dollars each now taking a look around this phone, the design is slightly refreshed from the previous generation model.

It's back to the flat edge sides, and if you were a fan of those the iPhone 4s, the iPhone 5, the 5s, even the first generation iPhone SE had that flat edge and that's really where this flat edge design is coming from. Now, on that right side, you can see we have our power button or side button as apple calls. If you'll see an antenna up top there's also an antenna towards the bottom side on the bottom of the phone. We have the vents for our speakers and microphone as well as the lightning port. The left side has the mute or silence switch.

You have your volume rockers and towards the bottom side, you have your sim tray for your sim card up top not too much going on just a simple antenna line to the back side. We have that same similar matte finished glass design on the back, just like with the iPhone 11 Pro models, and this one here is the graphite color. As I said so, it's very similar to like black or space gray of previous generation phones, Apple logo nicely placed in the middle. A lot of people like that, and you've got the familiar triple 12 megapixel camera system here and that's going to be the ultra-wide wide and telephoto lenses. You'll also notice a new LIDAR scanner right here.

This was brought in with one of the newer iPads and that's going to help with the new night mode portrait shots that are available in this new iPhone 12 Pro. It's also going to help you with auto, focusing in low light, and, lastly, it's going to be great for augmented reality applications, but with that being said, there's not too much augmented reality going on in terms of a need to have basis. So this still, if you have an iPhone 11 Pro, isn't something you're going to want to switch over just because of that little scanner over to the front side. Here you have a slightly larger display than the iPhone 11, this one's coming in at 6.1 inches, where the iPhone 11 was at a 5.8 inch display. This is also a super retina Dr display with a ceramic shield front, which is impossible to see, but it's there, and it should help if you do drop the phone apple's saying it'll, give you a four times better drop performance.

Now the sides are made of that surgical grade stainless steel, very similar to what you had on the iPhone 11 Pro models. Now a quick side by side. You can see that the footprint of the new iPhone 12 is going to be slightly larger in its length and its width. It's also going to be thinner than the iPhone 11 Pro, so you won't be able to use the same cases for both of them moving on, let's take a look at MagSafe and how it works with this iPhone 12 Pro honestly, MagSafe is probably one of my favorite features with these new generation of phones. I was really excited to pick these up actually unboxed.

Both of these. This is the clear MagSafe case by apple and the MagSafe charger. So if you want to check out those videos, links are in the description as well. Well, let's see how well this actually sticks to the back of this iPhone, so that was pretty quick. It actually lifted right off the table and look at that nice little icon on screen.

So a lot of people are saying that it's weak. Well, I mean I wouldn't swing it around, but you can slightly, and it won't fly off. It does feel like it has decent grip with the MagSafe charger. Let's test out the case, all right, snaps right in a little icon on screen as well. Pretty nice didn't really like the fact that this white was there, but it's not too bad.

It is going to show fingerprints quite a bit. It's not picking up on camera, but they're there and just like with the phone you place it down, and you're, going to get the MagSafe kind of connectivity, and it'll power up or give you that little icon that it's charging. So I was really excited about these MagSafe devices, but again the accessories that you're missing out on are pretty important and if you do decide to choose MagSafe. Unfortunately, you still need this charger, which you wouldn't have unless you purchased an iPhone 11 or one of the newer iOS devices or an iPad. So it's really going to cost you 20 to purchase these unless you purchase it from a third-party retailer online.

I'll link you to some that I found that'll, give you this USB port, but you know pretty much you're spending 10 15 on these things anyway. Now, although I've been talking pretty positively about this new phone, I'm gonna straight up say that if you have an iPhone 11 Pro, you don't need to buy the 12 pro or upgrade at all this year. There just isn't enough to it, and actually this phone is missing features that are pretty disappointing. First off the display, it is a beautiful display, don't get me wrong, but it is just running at 60 hertz, where android phones, these days now are pushing the 120 hertz, and I even have a phone here that went up to 144 hertz had a dedicated fan and game modes built in, and it was less than half the cost of this phone. So for that price point you should expect to get the best of the best and Apple just didn't, provide that here.

Additionally, the iPhone 11 Pro battery is going to last you longer than the iPhone 12 Pro battery. This one here is rated at 17 hours of video playback, where the iPhone 11 Pro is going to be at 18 hours. So I'm not sure what happened in that sense, but for a phone that you're paying upwards of 12 13 14 1500, you would expect to see an improvement in some of those main characteristics like the battery life. So that's just my brief unboxing of this new iPhone 12 Pro. There is a lot more to it, but I feel like those are the main things that people are concerned about as a general consumer.

If you're looking to pick one of these up, you can go to the Apple website, they're pretty expensive. I think this one ran me about 13.99 plus tax in Canada, get it a little cheaper in us dollars, but they're pretty expensive. I also have the blue, which I'll be unboxing as well, so definitely check the channel for that and, as always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask and click. The like button subscribe to the channel click, the bell notification box to be notified. When I post new videos and as always I'll see you in the next one.
