Unboxing an XCover

Okay today we're going to be doing an unboxing. You see I've, just all I've done so far. Am I've just opened the uh, uh the package, so you slice it open, but uh. Here we go first thing in the box. Thank you for your order. Return your item within 15 days.

If there's a problem somebody idiot now inside here, you can see, look at how that's uh, that's packaged! That's got this weird um paper wrapper thing: I'm gonna pull this out. It's got this like mesh. This is all this is like a paper mesh, very Spanish and, of course, got the cookie wrap around it, and we got ourselves a couple of boxes and what could these be? MMM the uh pro x cover? I see, I always thought it was the cover pro, but very clearly it says pro x cover so okay little sealed um see. Is there a difference between these two? Now they say the same thing, and also we got here. Do okay, let's go ahead and open one see what these suckers look like.

Maybe we should have brought the knife instead, try not to slice myself open. Oh, I think it slides. Oh, there's one more sticker down here. That's! What's going on there we go little Samsung uh. I don't know like this document thing quick start guide.

They put it in its own box. Okay. Now what we got here. Oh, look at that. It's got a neat, little uh side button.

Here, that's uh and uh. It's got uh like I think. One of these is a fingerprint reader. It's got uh two little buttons here. We have to see what else we got here over there, a handy-dandy little uh charger type with an USB port uh component on there, the USB cable with uh, uh, USB c, so uh this little guy.

It is not the um. It is not the uh the standard, little USB minis that we tend to have around um, but there you go oh well. This is interesting. This is coming with a pair of earbuds, see here yeah. I thought so um, it's coming with a pair of earbuds with a microphone and a little push button here, but it's got a headphone jack.

It's like that's, there's a headphone jack on here, somewhere yep down here at the bottom, there's a headphone jam, jack, all right, okay and perhaps most importantly, external battery. I happen to have this spare external battery that came straight from the uh, the shipper uh the other day, so without opening uh that but the other battery I'll use this see. If I can get into here, peel it nice. Let's take a look at the quick start guide, because I am not afraid to look at directions before I something up: um. Okay, according to the uh, the directions there is a front-facing camera and an x cover key, whatever the hell.

That is, the volume key and the um. What we call that the side key fingerprint recognition, it's a key and a fingerprint recognition sensor: okay, the front camera is up in the upper right-hand corner, and then it's got some standard back. Cameras that are a little better and over here is the diagram for on the side. Is the diagram for pulling the uh the back off? So, let's see here, it says, and we've got a sim card. How do we pull this thing off? Okay, installing the NATO sim card and battery oddly, I don't see any specific directions.

It says yeah remove the side, but it does not give me a specific point to open it from my previous v10 I could just hold on to the little hole they had the brilliant idea of lining up the hole, the backplate to where the hole was. So you can get a good grip. This kind of looks like a wrapper thing, but I don't think that's the way it's supposed to go that sucks come on guys, yeah, it's supposed to open up, but how do you freak open it up? Okay, there's supposed to be a notch on one of these sides. I think. Ah, here it is.

That's it okay, perfect! So inside we got this little rubber grommet to protect. I guess the uh for fluids and stuff like that, for when you to give it a little its water resistance. We got our um Samsung near field communication batteries and your field communications actually built into this thing. Before I put the battery in, though I think it might be a good idea to whip out oh crap, I need the sim card from the phone. How do you feel about me changing my phone number, let's see here we go the spare sim card.

They uh convinced me to get an additional uh sim card from the uh. You know to uh, uh. You know for the plan that I switched to, so I ended up getting a spare sim card. Where's the sim card go sim card goes into the big slot. Okay, there we go and uh memory card would go into the other one, but we're going to skip the memory card for now.

This should have some onboard memory. If it doesn't, that's going to be embarrassing, so here we go battery plugged in I'm going to press this thing back into place, just as for reference, the little notch is opposite side, the camera. So the camera is on this side and little notch. Is this tiny little thing over here on the far right hand, side you have to sort of slip your nail in there in order to pull it up. Okay, here we go now which one's the power button didn't even bother mentioning which one's the power button.

I guess I could pressure all these power button, these buttons and see which one is the power button Samsung key? No, this key! No, how about this big one at the top that looks important, no, the fingerprint! Oh, there we go fingerprint reader key is a key. Oh, boy! We got the Samsung based logo. So all you know this is just purely unlocked. There 's's no crap from an uh at tor Verizon, or anything like that on their starting android, oh uh service provider, update uh your device. Let me help you get set up more easily by guiding you through the steps wow service provider update your device will restart to configure the features supported by a new sim card.

Okay- and it's talking to me- please wait: let's see if we can even get service out here it's trying for the first time I mean it's uh, trying to configure itself in an area. That's got like almost no signal, so this will be interesting to see the last. Oh, there. It goes it's doing another restart, I'm going to have a lot of fun. Okay and now I see blank now looks off, so you can.

Oh, it just vibrated get the start, logo again secured by NOX. Hmm, I don't want NOX's. So it's doing some kind of reboot cycle starting android, let's get started. Let me help you get set up more easily by guiding you through the steps nice batteries a little low. Let's look at the terms and conditions.

Once you read and agree to these, we can really get going. Okay, uh, let's see terms and conditions legally binding agreement. You shall agree dispute between you and Samsung yada, Ada, Ada, yada, will be blown by binding arbitration court by jury. Uh. Okay, someone there probably asked me to sell.

So let me go privacy, uh policy. Let's take a quick look at that one. When you purchase the Samsung product, create a Samsung account or register for a use with a service. You may provide us with additional information, such as uh contact information date of birth, gender uh credit card number account ID, so we will own your not sack. We may uh, uh collect information automatically if it's embarrassing.

What we allow to be in these contracts, sending of diagnostic data optional and information linking optional, I'm going to leave whoa whoa whoa. No, no! No! No! I'm just going to sign these top two there's this neat little button down here says I don't care suck my dick dry, not gonna. That would be quite handy here: choose a network! Okay, choose a network, I'm going to top choose okay, connected checking for updates, installing updates copy, apps and data. You can choose to account uh to close, choose to transfer your apps photos and accounts, google account and more use your old device. Maybe I should start fresh and install everything you know clean, oh no, select a source, they want a galaxy, uh, android or iPhone iPad, and I'm just I'm going to back out of this.

I'm going to install manually keep everything nice and fresh and clean. Besides, I only got a few more minutes before I have to sign out checking info. My Google account you.
