The new Battery King! Blackberry Motion Review

What's happening everyone, my name is Alex and welcome back to a new review. So a few months ago, blackberry was back with another Android device, the blackberry q10 inning Android. Then it had a full keyboard and that's not something that we see every day now. In the same time, most people aren't exactly used to keyboard, so maybe the phone wasn't for everyone, but not blackberry is back with yet another device, and this one is called the BlackBerry motion whew this one. We don't get the keyboard anymore, but we get a 5.5-inch screen that has a 1080p resolution. So now the phone looks more like what we are used to seeing on the market these days.

Now there is something very special about this phone and no it's not a sniper than 625 CPU that we have inside it's, not the four gigs of ram or the 32 gigs of internal storage. It's the fact that this phone has a four thousand William hour. Battery I was able to go for a day and a half on one charge and out of that 13.5 hours of screen on time, which is just insane- and this is probably the best battery life that I've seen on any mobile device up until now. So if you're looking for a phone that you don't have to charge every single day well, this is probably it, and on top of that, we even have fast charging. So you can charge the entire phone in about an hour and 45 minutes and once again you charge it for an hour and 45 minutes, and then you can go for like two three days on one charge, which is just insane now.

The phone itself doesn't look that spectacular. In my opinion, I mean on the front. We have a big chin. We have a big forehead and rather large bezels all around the screen. So the phone- it's somewhat bigger than other phones that have a 5.5-inch screen the false frame it's made out of metal and, on the right hand, side. We have what's called the convenience key.

We also have the power button and the volume keys now that convenience key it's not exactly convenient because of where it's placed it's very easy to press it. So every time I pick up the phone I kind of press that up convenience key, so I wish the power button would have been placed instead of the convenience key and the convenience key somewhat higher, but maybe that's just a personal preference. So the convenience key can be used to open a certain app to change to a different profile or a shortcut, or anything like that. So you just press that key and whatever or whatever you have selected pops up on the other side of the phone. We have the SIM card slot and this phone can take a SIM card and an SD card that SD card can also be used as internal storage.

So you're not gonna, be running out of internal storage anytime soon and moving all the way to the bottom of the device that we have a 3.5 million job. We also have the microphone a USB, C port on and the speaker. So, as I said earlier, the phone supports fast charging. It also supports OTG, but unfortunately the speaker doesn't sound that amazing I mean it gets loud, but it's just one tiny speaker, and it just doesn't sound amazing, but we've seen the exact same thing for a lot of Samsung devices, the phone it's also ip67 certified, and that means that you could technically take it in the shower. No I didn't take mine in the shower, but I didn't put it in water just because I have to check and see if it's actually waterproof and there was no water going inside, which is great moving to the back of the phone.

Well, the back. It's made out of some type of rubberized plastic, that's very soft to touch, but in the same time it's not slippery. So that's great because a lot of phones these days are very, very slippery. We also have a 12 megapixel camera with AF, 2.0, and I believe that this is the same camera that you used to have for the original Google Pixel on the front of the device and starting all the way at the top. We have an 8 megapixel front facing camera, and we also have an LED notification light that can change colors, not the quality from that 8 megapixel front facing camera, it's great as long as you have plenty of light.

As soon as you don't have enough light, the pictures become a bit grainy and bloody, but that's quite normal for on any smartphone these days the 5.5-inch screen is an IPS panel. The colors look great. The viewing angles are also great, but I wish of the screen would get a bit brighter because if you go out say it's going to be a bit difficult to see it in the erect solid, but I. Didn't that up the screen, not look so quite good and the sensitivity, it's also great. So no issues whenever you are typing and just below the screen, we have the back button.

We also have the home button, that's a fingerprint scanner, and we have the multitasking button. Unfortunately, you're not going to be able to move those buttons around. So you can't exactly have the back button on the other side. Now that fingerprint scanner- it's very, very accurate, and it's also very fast- you just have to touch it once the formula unlock the screen. The fingerprint scanner can also be used for a couple of other things and one of them, I, haven't actually seen for any smartphone before so.

The first use for the fingerprint scan would be to pull down the notification tab, but we've seen that for the Google Pixel, for example, but the second one well, you can take pictures through the fingerprint scanner. So if you have the camera app open, then you take the picture by touching the fingerprint scanner that particular picture will be locked in a secure folder and nobody else can access that folder to access that folder. You actually need your fingerprint. So if you're taking pictures at work or on whatever and up there are like important pictures that not too many people should see them. You can just take the picture by touching the fingerprint scanner and then the picture will be securing that secure folder.

So the BlackBerry motion is using the Snapdragon 625 and even though that CPU it's very power efficient. It's not the fastest CPU out there, so you can't exactly compare the performance from the BlackBerry motion to something like a Samsung Galaxy s, 8 the LGA 30, or anything like that. The main difference that you're going to notice in performance when comparing these two, a much more expensive device would be the loading time for apps. Not imagine it's gonna. Take you like a minute to load an app.

It's probably gonna. Take you like half a second more run than on something like a Samsung Galaxy s, 8 or LGA 30. So just a bit longer loading times, but after the apps load they do work very, very well. I tried a bunch of apps on the BlackBerry motion. Just because I wanted to see how well the software are optimized.

So, for example, if you're going to use Chrome on after up the page loads of you can zoom in zoom out scroll up scroll down without any issues and just as good as you do on a much more expensive device. I've also tried the Instagram I tried. Twitter I tried basically all the apps that I use every single day, because I got to use this phone for about four days now. It's my daily driver so realistically no issues with any app on that. You're going to play your try on this phone.

You can even play games like GTA San Andreas and that's on a somewhat heavy game and that it does perform very well on the BlackBerry motion. So realistically, this phone is not just for work. You can actually use this as a rake were formed just like any other Android device available on the market. The phone is running, Android 7.1, not, but the launcher is very, very close to stock on Android, but in the same time we have some blackberry, specific apps, like the blackberry, Harper and the detect security. Basically, to detect security will not scan your device and tell you if your phone is secure or not, and we are going back to the 12 megapixel camera on the back of this device.

So, first the phone key record in 4k. However, the image stabilization doesn't work for and 4k recordings. You can only use an image stabilization for 1080p recordings, but here is a quick sample of a 4k recording in 4k the BlackBerry motion. Unfortunately, we don't have image stabilization for 4k recordings. You can only use the image stabilization for 1080p recordings, so this is how 4k clip film movies device looks like the camera.

App is also very quick and very fast at focusing, and there is also manual mode available in there for those of you that don't like on taking pictures on auto mode. Unfortunately, it hasn't been sunny over the past 4 days that I've been using the phone, so I couldn't really take any pictures and put a lot of Suns and the blue skies button. All the pictures that I took even like this sub. They do look quite good in my opinion, and they're very, very similar. The pictures that we've seen from the blackberry q10, like the pictures, do look quite good.

Maybe they are not as crispy as we've seen them from on other flagship devices, but for a phone that costs around $450 I. Think the camera performs very, very well. Moving on to the GPS unit inside is formal. It works great. It only takes about half a second to find your location and that, once your location is found, it doesn't ton seem to lose it.

So you can use on any navigation app without any issues as for sensor, so you are going to find all the sensors that you'd find in a much more expensive flagship device, including a gyroscope for connectivity. The phone can connect to 4G networks, of course, um. We have Bluetooth connectivity, we have dual-band Wi-Fi, we even have NFC, and that means that you can use Android pay with this device without any issues. As for the speaker on top here, well, it gets loud enough in the cold quality. It's great so no issues the quality and the speech that I got over the 4G networks and dual-band Wi-Fi are also great, and it's time to conclude this video, so I, don't really have any bad things to say about the BlackBerry motion.

I mean sure the phone could have been a bit smaller because it is on kind of large. The performance could have been better, but in the same time the price would probably be higher. If that was the case. Aside from that, we get the phone that has ip67 certification. We get an awesome four thousand William hour battery.

It can go on forever, well, maybe not forever, but at least two or three days we get great cameras as well and overall. This is a very, very good phone. Alright guys hopefully enjoyed this video. If you did like it, press that, like button, don't forget, subscribe, and I'll see you in the next one thanks for watching.
