TCL 10 Pro VS 10L (Major differences)

Hey guys Mike from Tech reviews here, and today we compared the TCL 10 Pro versus the TCL 10 L, hey guys, welcome back to my channel. So today we're gonna, compare the TCO 10 Pro vs. the TCL 10 L, so both of these devices just came out just not too long ago, and I've been fortunate enough to have TCL. Send me both phones to test out. So, if you haven't checked out the review on the TCL 10 Pro I do have videos there so go check out my channel for those videos I also just recently unboxed the TCL 10 also, and I've, had it for quite a little, so I've been able to mess around and kind of see what the differences are. As far as you know, what's going on, with the differences between the two devices etc.

, so I'm gonna, I'm going to pinpoint some key differences for you guys today, and hopefully this will maybe help you make your decision as far as buying the actual phones. If you know what you're looking for etcetera like that, so start off with the TCL 10 L here now, as you can see here and if you guys looked at the screens right next to each other right. Obviously the 10 Pro is a lot more vivid because it has an AMOLED display. But we'll go we'll talk about the AMOLED display right now, so we wanted to go over specs first right. So the TCL 10 L again has a snapdragon 665 on the camera setup.

It's got a 48 megapixel 8, megapixel, 2 megapixels, another 2 megapixel and then a 16 megapixel front facing camera. You have a 1080 by 2340 Full, HD Plus display you do have 6 gigs of RAM on this phone 60 gigs 64 gigs of internal storage, Android 10 out of the box, which again TCL, did promise an update at least one major Android update for both of these phones and battery capacity is at 4000 million batteries and again the Android security patch level is of March 2020. So there's the TCL 10 L. Now, let's get to know more expensive device, which is the TCL 10 Pro and again this we're going to kind of give you guys a close-up here, which again this one has a snapdragon 675. So again the TCL 10 L is a 665.

This is a 675. The camera again system setup is again 64, which the resolution is a little bigger. This one has a little of better low-light capabilities. As far as the camera goes 1080p by 2340 again the same resolution, the same amount of RAM 100, this one it comes with 128, gigs of storage and, of course, the battery capacity is a little bigger, and this one is again is running. Android, 10 and again, TCL has promised that this device will get an another version of Android or the next coming version of Android, which will be Android 11 so having both.

These phones have really. You know, kind of opened my eyes to more of the mid-range sector and TCL in general kind of came in swinging with these two devices, which are great price points for the actual devices. So again, the TCL 10 L comes out to $49.99 plus taxes, and again you have your 10 Pro, which is 449 plus taxes again I'll give you guys links down below just so. You guys check them out universally unlocked again or at least these devices. In my experience, though, I have not had any luck with the visible network which runs off of Verizon's a network.

So just be aware of that guys. These are device unlocked, but again these guy think only are catered to T-Mobile and the carriers like cricket, 18, T, etc. Like that so going forward from there again, a few key differences that I want to talk about of these devices are not crazy differences, but the know definitely differences that you guys might consider when purchasing these two devices. So for one the screen size is okay, so well on the screen size on the TCL 10 Pro, you have a six point: four seven inches AMOLED display, which again it's a beautiful display. You can really tell the difference between this one and this one.

Next to each other, I mean for the most part. They both have about same brightness on them. I have them both set so about the little over 50%. As you can see there again, the vividness of the pro it just looks a lot better. So again, that's the six point.

Four seven inches, the TCL 10 L, is slightly bigger at six point, four seven inches or excuse me, six point, five, three inches, but again both of these devices. What they have in common is both of them have next vision, which you know is a, don't know if it's a software enhancement that makes the screen look a little better than it then actually is on the devices again. Another key difference is on this specific device, which is again the ten Pro is. It does have what's called HDR 10, which allows you to watch I, guess you know different videos, especially like on Netflix or the streaming apps like Amazon, Prime or Hulu, which gives you a little of a better display when watching those you know movies or shows that you like to watch okay, let's see what else again, both devices have next vision, although of course next vision looks definitely a lot cleaner on the TCL 10 Pro opposed to the TCL 10 L. Now, let's talk about the camera so having both of these devices, both cameras actually work really well.

The cameras, obviously, are going to be a little better on the more expensive device. Although I don't know if $200, this really kind of justifies me getting a device like the pro just because the device, the camera on this one is actually relatively well considering it's a 48 megapixel opposed to a 64, megapixel camera. Both shoot video in 4k, though, which you know a lot of mid-range devices, don't have that capability. I think only like the Samsung, a 50 series and up have that capability of being able to shoot in 4k. But again these only shoot in 4k f4 at 30 frames.

A second I did notice, though, in video mode on the pro, though this does have some sort of like tracking or like I guess, face or step tracking. So when you, when you're recording it'll, actually follow a specific area of the video that you want to want to, you know which I thought was pretty cool, and I was actually using. The 10 Pro didn't have that on the 10 L or at least I didn't see it on the 10 L. Both of them do have image stabilization on the video, though so that's pretty good, because again you know when you're walking around you don't want to see the shake on the camera when you're moving around, and it's just it hurts the eyes a little, especially for viewers that want to watch videos that people are posting up, but again because of that, it's you know: you're, not gonna, get that now. I did notice on the front-facing camera, though, that the TCL 10 l has more of a crop than the let's see if I can bring it up.

Actually, let's see if I can bring it up see if we can tell the differences, are I really quick? Okay, so there I am there's the 10. Let me see there we go I could make it a little darker. Let me have it focus on me just a little so when I was recording and maybe again this was video mode I think it's a video mode where you see a crop, you can see that there's a little of a crop on the front-facing camera. Let's see if it applies on the TCL 1000, okay, so it applies to both of them. As you can see there.

That's video mode, though guys again, if you guys, are just going regular camera mode, let's go there, you can see there that it kind of switches back to its regular mode, more of a wide-angle shot. Both these again have wide-angle cameras, so if I'm shooting on with the rear camera, of course, you can actually bust out that cap, but not the white angle on both ends. Although I think the wide-angle lens on the pro is going to be a little better, but again most of them have very similar traits as far as the actual camera, app etc. Like that again, you're really not going to get much of a difference, except for video, where again I believe this one offers tracking and let me just go find out just so you can just so we can kind of see. Let me change it back to 1080.

There you go so again, you have an is, which is video stabilization, and you know I've had that, let's see if we can. Let's see if we can go back in and record I just bump the camera, that's okay, but again this has what's called tracking mode, and you can see it right there. It is if I click that little button I don't know what I did there, but this little button basically tracks a specific. So if I were to your know, press on the screen, it actually tracks that specific item that you know you want to follow. Again, you don't get that on the 10 L, which I thought was interesting.

Let me just verify that for you guys just so that you guys can see, so I'm, not VES, seeing you guys right! Well, okay, let's get that going and again that was on 1080p. So again, as you can see here, it does not give you that option on the 10 L, which is a little disappointing, but at the same time again the camera system is a more little bit more advanced on the pro. But again you still get the wide-angle shot, and you still get the met you still get to use the macro lens, which again you know you can zoom in on both devices, which I think is really cool. It's a really cool feature to see on both of these devices. So there's that if you guys wanted to know a little of differences again, this one has super night mode which I don't see the feature on here, but it does have super macro mode, so you have super macro mode on the 10l, but you have super night mode which again I will show you guys really quick.

So again, this is going to relate really to the video there. We go really a little more to the video than you did. Then you would have on the actual camera, but although it does take a little light, perfect low-light shots also on both camera systems. Here so I mean you really can't complain there. Obviously the $200 difference: you're gonna, see a little of it in the camera, but at the same time, do I need to spend an extra $200 on the pro in order to get these little small key differences.

You know you, you guys tell me you know so, alright! Next, let's go to the next difference. Okay, on what you know what we want to talk about as far as the differences on the Pro and the TCL 10 else. Oh, so another one is the camera notch? Okay! So let's get this going? Okay, so the camera notch on the TCL 10 pros even get that to focus there is in the middle and I actually set the software ups, or you know, you'll get like a little of a black blackness on the very top there with the notification bar. You can turn that off though I just want I just liked it so that it can I just kind of turned it on, so it'll come for the notch, so really I mean I. Don't I, don't really care where the notch goes, but I thought.

Well. If these devices are going to be almost similar, why not have them in the same spot? The TCL 10l has it here. On the left hand, side if I can get that to focus there, you go there. You go okay, so again, the camera, the front camera sensor on this one is actually going to be. You know, on the left-hand side and again, I really have no preference on it.

It looks good on both devices to me, in my opinion, really not a huge difference. As far as like the camera, angling, or I guess, just the only thing is when you're kind of holding the camera. You know if you accidentally put your thumb over here or have something set up. You know you might be a little disappointed as far as you know, you know being able to cover it. When you, you know the front-facing camera on the pro is gonna, be over there in the middle.

Well, I think what I love about both devices on the camera is both of them have GIS, which is video stabilization and that's something that you know for most YouTubers or most video vloggers that want in a can in a camera. Alright. So let's go back to the differences here so difference. Number three here is reverse charging? Okay. So if you guys don't know what reverse charging is it's basically me being able to connect something to a device and charge it with what the device you're using, so the 10 Pro has reverse charging capabilities that the 10 L it does not, so again I would this is going to be only wired, not Wireless.

You know what this is not a what, unfortunately, this does not have wireless charging in the back and it they both these two devices do both have NFC, but you cannot reverse wireless charge on this device as well. So unfortunately, you're going to have to put up with that, but you again, you would have. All you would have to do is just plug in something a USB type-c cable to this, and then you would have to have the other connector to whatever device you're you're connecting it to so speaking of another difference there, as you can see there, the 10 Pro has an in screen fingerprint sensor when the TCL 10 L does not by the way, but I noticed that the TCL sensor and the in the back of the TCL 10 l is relatively fast. It's quick, and it's a lot easier to use than the one on the screen on the 10 Pro. So, if I had to choose fingerprint sensors on the pro opposed to the TCL 10 L, then I'm going to choose the TCL 10 L all the way, just because I don't really care for in screen fingerprint displays, although I feel, like you know, any type of screen or any type of fingerprint sensors that are like on the actual device, makes it like a lower-end device now which, which is sad because a few years ago you had that on a lot of devices, and it was crazy for any phones have a fingerprint sensor again.

The TCL 10 L has no reverse charging and again the last item that I'm going to kind of go over, and maybe we'll go over. A few honorable mentions is the IR sensor. So the IR sensor is a sensor that allows you to turn devices on. So, let's see if I can get that out of the way there right. You have an IR sensor in the back of this device, which I've actually used it to turn on my TCL branded TV, which it's a pretty cool feature to have, and you don't just you're, not it is just able to turn on TVs.

You can turn on other devices as well as long as it's able to as long as it has that little IR detection or a little IR sensor like laser sensor, thing I, guess that goes with it. I don't know too much about that guys. So again, you know I'm I'm an average consumer right, but again I've used it because I did lose the control to my TCL 10 Roku TV excuse me and because of that, I ended up having to use this, which I wasn't really hard to set up. It gives you a lot of options, and you know, and for the most part, I was able to get it up and running within, like five minutes of using that, so pretty cool. But again you know at the same time.

Is that really worth the $200 extra that you're paying on the device rather than on the L? You know what I mean, which again the L is $200, less, and you're, getting basically most of the same features on the device, there's very little things that this device doesn't have, that the pros have so another quirk or feature that the TCL 10 Pro has over. Here is a shortcut button which again it since it is a curved display over here on this sign, which again a lot of it. It's not it's really for show I guess, but it does have this feature that allows you to bring up kind of like a shortcut corner over here on the side. So you do not have that option on the TCL 10l, which again I've always had issues using this one just because, but you kind of just have to swipe it. It's more of a swipe feature.

You do not have that on the TCL 10a, although what you do have, though, is smart key on both devices. So again you have both of that on the devices here, which is the button on the very left hand, side of each phone, and let me show you guys the one over here on the 10 L just to show you guys do. I still have the case on that: no I, don't all right! So again, I might have issues of the camera, but it's going to be a right here or my one around or my fingers. Let's see we can get that to focus- maybe not, but it's going to be right there. So both phones actually do have that that feature where you know you can set three different type of finger or not finger but button layouts to enable quick access to apps.

Like you know your camera or Google Assistant, etc. Like that me I, have it set to like quick launch video mode so that I can just you know, don't like double or triple tap it, and then it'll, it'll, quick exit. Let's see this one I have two sets a double tap on the camera modes, so very easy to use on that. I think a lot of other phones should have that feature. Although again, you know really it's really preference to the person.

Obviously, a different flagship devices are gonna. Have that feature as well? So guys, that's just gonna about wrap it up for me, as far as some key differences on the TCL 10 Pro versus the TCL 1000 I hope you guys like this video I hope the video was informative. Now I know, there are more features out there on both devices that you know I didn't cover. So you know just you know be aware that you know I'm not going over every single little detail, but these are just little details that you know I noticed right off the bat which were the key differences for me or some molarity. So if you guys liked the video, please give it a thumbs up.
