T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy A71 5G | unboxing and initial thoughts By 5after12

All right, so we got these Samsung Galaxy, a7, t15, GT, Mobile, Edition, so I'm pretty excited about this. I wasn't gonna, get it because it's a little pricey but then T-Mobile had a deal where, if you had a line to get it for half price than they had deal where you can add in line for free, so I was like okay, let's do it, so the box is fairly small. Actually I got insane fast. Shipping on this thing, yeah I want to say it was hearing. Maybe 30 hours right, like yourselves out of stock I, still ordered it through T force on Twitter, and then it just showed up my house almost no time later, I didn't work in here. It's just the Samsung box, your little flap, just the paperwork, the thingy I guess you're required to send you mean the same ejector tool which I will promptly lose I'm sure this looks dirty.

There's send me a dirty phone there's why I came so quick. It is totally dirty wonder if this thing was used to me SIM card, which I am going to use normally I wouldn't. But since this is extra line, I'm skin test event in the box, we have a fast charger. That's also not wrapped in plastic. I am starting to wonder if this was a returned.

Shouldn't have been, hopefully doesn't have Kovacs. So there's the charger USB see it's. The new trend, I mean C's been around for a while, but looks a lot of the phones were still a to see, and they're Lear see the scene like a CMT Music Factory building up for that reference. Let's take this there, you're looking there off of this thing, so there is some plastic. Samsung always puts on like little stickers up here, mostly one piece, no other piece, all right, so I believe with everything off of it.

This is the T-Mobile revelry. Plus policy is an otter box, but you can see it's about. It's with Letterbox is smaller than this one. This is six point four inches. This is six point seven, and we also just got this LG and there's honor by, so it looks bigger, but I think they're the same size phone.

Essentially, actually it looks like it's a little taller. It's at the Samsung's going to be wider. That's where this I'll take that down just a second all right. So on the device itself, you do have a headphone jack here, USB-C and let's buy your microphone, looks like only one speaker unless this of your pieces also speaker and up top, is your micro SD card slot right here, SIM card slot. Let's go ahead and take a look at that so yeah you can get a micro SD card and a SIM at the same time, so get the SIM card in, and now we'll boo them up stand you rt-mobile tone, let's get started.

Let me help you get set up more easily by guiding you through the steps. Let's go alright! So now we're connected and looking for updates just for reference. Here's. My note 10 thanks to it. So the note 10 doesn't seem to be a little wider.

A little more square part of me was wondering if I could replace my note 10 with this one and just give what the boy keep his old phone, but he seems to think he's getting this phone, but the note tends pretty extraordinary, so I, don't think I'm ready to part with it, yet I'm, not going to copy. Now we're getting set up after, like you Swift Key, so I'm not used to using the Samsung keyboard back I like it, I use it for a long time, then I finally moved over Swift Key. I guess yeah there it is I, don't know if this is just an optical or if it's an ultrasonic like the higher end ones. Hopefully a future me will research that and put some kind of note in the editing of this video, but sometimes future means lazy, something a lot of fingerprint setups over the years for these phones- and this animation is different from the note 10 news certainly- and it seems a little slow, but there may not be anything all right.

We don't want this McAfee know the keys, just the name: ID I'll leave it on there all right, along with the Samsung Account. Well, I was just trying for yes password, there's a little cool little animation when it comes on little at that looks pretty great here. So that's going to come across in the video, but only great $69 is still a decent chunk of change. Alright, now we're back to a regular, Samsung, stuff, T-Mobile stuff on me all right.

So, let's just take a look at what we got here, swipe up, let's see, what's pre-installed standard Google stuff, all that we will use. Let's see this ain't free drive. Storage did not appear to be anything there other than dumb stuff Microsoft apps pre-installed. He won't use any of these. My son, Jesus Lee, won't use any it's good, get used to the arrows being differently.

He can move on course, but I assume, if he's like me, once he tries to Samsung he's not gonna want to go back. So that's all I do mind I'm the boss. So how does it do it? How I tell them to know some Samsung stuff in here Samsung healthy uses, the Samsung watch. That's fine Bixby's, a piece of my files, I like Samsung members, more or less useless, smart things, also more or less useless unless you're fully into that ecosystem. Ar zone I, don't know what that is, but I'm sure we won't use it.

T-Mobile built-in apps asses, please permission before, so that's fun, Samsung, global glows, okay, go global goals is some kind of charity thing? Are you ending up like will delete that out there as well Samsung notes is a fantastic note, app that I use all the time. YouTube music, that's its routine, see that's pre-installed, that's what he uses. So it's good T-Mobile plays a piece of Samsung pay. Oh really, it's an if Samsung fantasy I mean don't give me money, so it doesn't matter, but it's pretty impressive. This actually has full on Samsung pay with MST on to research seat.

That's come here, not Facebook is stupid. Alright, a game launcher Google Play, alright! So there's not a lot of stuff added here. Right I mean some people whine about those Samsung apps, but who gives a alright? So what we have here couldn't sink notes. Disease never had notes before, so Samsung has this thing: we can have dual absent one, but he doesn't use Facebook or it is sleazy shouldn't be stupid. Smart split she's, just Sam since, when you're bringing stuff over I need that I don't know what app selector is well we're getting some updates in here once these updates finish, we'll take a look at the settings and storage and all that NFC is on there.

Like people always ask me what they have ever seen: I've almost never use NFC I, don't understand what people think. That's a big deal with hey Bixby routines, that's pretty good! So it's like yeah victory. Routines are like if-then than that, but Samsung a fad, and it works. Pretty great NFC is on that. Yet I've never actually used.

You know CEO! Let me use for its good, oh yeah. They have the stupid side. Key settings I see. So this is important if you get a new Samsung phone, this side buttons map to Bixby. But you hit go to side key settings.

You can change it to a power off menu and well just turn off the double press. Samsung here in that browser. I think it's a really great browser so far, we're not noticing any leg and the phone seems to be moving pretty swiftly. All right, so, let's go ahead and check the settings so shows on the May first security patch. It shows on the faint May first security patch, but we'll see if there are any updates available It's July 8th the record all right.

So it's updated to the May first security patch, obviously July so could be great. It could be better than that, but the both the T-Mobile Vera and the LG b LG style, are only on the April security patch. My Samsung note, 10 plus and my LG v 16 I'm, recording this on I believe we're all on the June security patch yeah. So it's on June 1st on my st. , my note, 10 plus, which is my daily driver, so does have an always-on display.

That's nice! Nice I got turning on that soon, but let's go and check out some more stuff. So, let's see we did about phone. Let's do storage on Samsung phones, that's going to be under device care, so you can see how there so 60 X 0 I am 128 gigs of storage, 24 gigs we use currently- and let me go ahead and activate a couple. Things come on. Go ahead and saw eat bench, and we'll test that out so yeah.

If, if you've watched, the channel I recently set up the LG v, LG style of six and in turn, I had to mess a lot with that T-Mobile revelry plus now granted. This is the first day we had. This phone is fresh out the box, but it is pretty fast and has a different processor, like not a standard processor. Nobody sure didn't see how this thing scores on this I am it's a weird Qualcomm different number than you normally see now, just for shits and giggles I'm I run the geek bench on the note, 10, plus, and we'll compare, and on the LG style 6. This one should have pretty low scores.

This one should have pretty high scores, and this one is a mystery, an enigma, if you will, so I, don't know if it means anything from the test speed, but you can tell I mean I started this one first of course, but this one's at 27% already and this thing's at 4% so doesn't seem to be chomping through that, and I said my son's been using it. It runs pretty slow where I receptor review, but I can pretty much tell you that this phone's going to go away. I might give to somebody my discord or am I sell on eBay? Who knows things either note 10 is almost catching up, I mean I'm almost catching up, but it's clearly making some ground and the style is not well. Let's check out the referee team over at it. Can you see the difference in screen size, the river we? So this is a perfect phone but screen you know after he used the style for a couple of days.

I think he's getting used to a bigger phone. So this is a pretty good phone, but I said, if he's been using that style for a couple of days, I think he's going to get used to the bigger screen like personally I can't stand a small screen, so I can't imagine going back to something as small as this so 621 for a single core score before this is the Samsung, of course, big Samsung, a 71. We have like an 820 think fairly good week, and it ran like so alright. Ninety was sitting here all right. So really it's not that bad I ran on all the these scores mean I just know that a higher number is better 703, 621 and again 6 or 650 whatever it is.

I, don't remember, I'm talking my head. That is not cheap. Obviously, but you know this poem was over a thousand dollars when I got it and now grant see almost a year old now. So it's not worth that much, but spike still works more than this. I could probably only eBay insult for this one but I'm not debating about these films worth thousand dollars, because they're, obviously or not, but people are going to pay it like I'm gonna, pay them on by the day, no twenty when it comes out guaranteed, and it'll probably be well over a thousand dollars, but if you can get this much phone for half the price of what this was pretty stellar and these two bags are still running right.

So again, this phone is 350, I. Think, and this was 250, so you can add both these phones up and still not get what this would normally cost. I got it on a deal, which is the only reason I got it now. If I was buying for me, like I, had no phone, and I'm just starting out today, wanting to buy phone, I would eat, I mean I was right about this. One thinking doesn't make a deal with so slow.

This is probably you know if I didn't have balls playing come. This could be a strong contender for me. Because, it's a large screen, Samsung system which I like, and you know it's performing pretty good. Yes, this one was started afterwards, and it's already about to surpass the style. So you can tell how bad this Donald's running and these are all T-Mobile phone.

So that's part of the reference point of reference here right. So if you're like I'm gonna, buy a T-Mobile phone I don't want to spend top-tier money. Maybe I can save a couple bucks with these two you could. This is probably the better phone the revelry now personally, I would still lean towards the style, because, while this you know, Sale also has a stylus, it's the name style. Oh, he still has a stylus I mean it's nothing special about that stylus.

But it is, you know, while we wait and try to go through, we can go through some more settings. There's a lot of stuff here again, if you've never had the Samsung phone before this would be a great intro to the game. I think because it seems almost having all the features of the note in display. You know you can set it for dark mode, which is cool. You can do it after brightness, Samsung yeah.

In my opinion, I've had little phones. If you watch this channel, I have a bunch of phones on here and before I. Had this channel I still went through. Phones like that because I, just like cell phones, I, definitely noticed that the auto brightness works like on a lg phone. It's hot garbage on LG on Samsung is pretty much perfect and ask motives okay, which is what this river we especially Motorola phone and Google, was alright as well, but by far no one's as good as Samsung, auto-brightness I.

Don't know why, but it just happens behind this blue light filter. I do like that. Will turn that on I'm, not around, my house will come on, but you turn it on for a schedule which I like yeah. You can turn on schedule come on sundown the Sun that Sun sets, so I'll. Let you do some sunset to sunrise that way.

It's you know, yellow when you need it to rank. Samsung also had this long time ago was close. All button older phones in there, but Samsung's always a heavy game. Some people hate on Samsung, like the world-famous second Tony, doesn't like Samsung products, but he's a dumb Frank, that's a problem, so you can change. I mean this looks almost straight up, like my note, in font, size and style when I crank that up yeah I guess why we're letting these go through.

I can do this, so obviously the stylus doesn't work on here some, so you can tell I mean it's pretty much. The same setting here check that up one screams, ooh yep, so yeah I, like a large phone and I. Like my text, Laurens right I mean I, have perfect 20/20 vision at laser surgery to fix my eyeballs, but still like the screen blown up. So here you don't see. The resolution this is I believe is only 1080p, looks perfect for 1080p, but this one, and so this one- that's one thing: that's a little.

The screen lens will be doing this down low. You can't change the resolution where it's on that note you can screen to them. Of course, you have full screen apps that will be things to get them to fit, so most of them be set to auto I believe, but we'll mess with that. When that comes up a screen, timeout I might change that to one minute. So we can my pushes button.

Every one small home screen layout, pretty similar right palm tree, Maps, 4x4, five badges so finally finished sending the family in this blocker is still running this one started afterwards. Things need different versions of about home screen. That's interesting, home screen needs enOppo edge lighting navigation bar. So you can move this. If you don't like it, or you can change icons, I think I know, I can change of gesture.

It's a hate gesture! So I, like you like this. Let's not I'll leave it. You can make your phone hi everyone, but me that's all I, like it, I show charging information, that's good, so yeah Samsung just has a bunch of stuff in here. Oh, there isn't always on display there we go. That's why I want to see always on display there.

We can tell it's not really in contention here, if you're being serious about phones, and obviously I'm serious about my bones. Alright, so there we go, so now you can see if we turn this off.

I should have always on display there. We go. That's pretty great all right, let's see wallpaper all right so has dynamic, lock screen Oh or you can do that. So that's good, so link dynamic, lock screen is pretty good, although it's aimed at global goals. So you can go to this, and you can choose Amy's categories and then the know if I do landscapes and let's do art landscapes is fine.

I guess so now, when I go to the wallpaper yeah so and then every time it'll be something different little different, you know real, that's a good-looking picture, yeah son I'll be just be there for one every time right. That's pretty neat help us something stupid on there because he's teenager, but it's pretty cool to do that and the great-looking pictures. And then, of course you know you don't want, you can, I missed all even the Samsung stuff, I'm, pretty sure you can install like Samsung numbers he's, never I use that you can uninstall it I'm thinking that salt Dixie, but you miss all most things. No, that's one. You can't vacuum, and then we'll check out that later pants features, so be it more than one Samsung phone.

You can link it to your windows. Account looks pretty good screen, recorder, screenshots and screen recorders. That's pretty great! You can just record the screen now there should be anything up here so like if I use up four videos all the time but like let's say you wanted to show someone your family, how to do something on the phone. You could just record it and then send it over there. Now, there's a number of things: Dolby, Atmos music sounds I.

Think headphones sound way better. On my note, 10 than just about any phone, so I don't know if the Dolby Atmos or the settings yeah so yeah. Actually that should unless that brings up another thing. Let's look at the listening, sound, no sound quality effects, so there's an equalizer built-in adapt sounds. This is the best thing right.

If you have I usable I, have the Samsung AKG headphones that King when I believe my note, eight or nine I forget, but I love these headphones. If you do this, it runs you through a set of tests, so tested your ear. It tests your ears, and then it will kind of tweak the sound for you. So for my money, and I've had a lot of phones, Samsung phone always sound better to me as far as music goes, why not listen to tell us there's a lot of music as far from head bumps now, as far as the speakers on thing, I, don't know we'll see about that. Now, let's check out widgets, and then we'll wrap this up so widget.

She got pretty standard stuff here. Whether I guess is a Latino really concerned with. So you have the time and the weather other big weather or just individual weather I. Guess you don't want that with the Dark moon widget settings there we go, so you can turn that off and won't have that background. So that's pretty good.

Alright, so I've been running, I did is a day or two. A couple of days later, I got an honor bucks case, the symmetry the year Otter box case it fits very snugly. You can see the does leave fingerprints still. We can still see that little shine a little through it. That's why it's a clear case: I worked it directly from T-Mobile.

That's that's 5g compatible! It's just funny and designed for Samsung, so T-Mobile never activated that sim or my extra line Apollo service. They could lose them. They still haven't got that taken. Care of you know is now July 11th, so I just went ahead and put the sim that was previously in the LG style into here, and we ran some speed tests out of different video testing speeds in my house I'm in little Kentucky. There is 5g here, I'm only getting LTE here currently, sometimes I won't get my meeting my house, but as a right now, when I'm trying to record this I'm only getting LTE but as you can see, those are pretty stellar speeds for LTE.

Like again, this is the note 10 we're getting about those same speeds on the note 10 Plus, which is obviously a thousand other phone, is able to do that. One more tests you can see like that. Not currently getting 5g, but I'm in my basement. I have got five to you here for, but as a right now, I'm not getting it, so I have a separate video where I run a bunch of speed tests. I'll probably drive around town long later on and record that as part of the separate speed test video though I'm making, but as far as the unboxing and looking at I'm, pretty happy with this phone I've gone ahead and switched the sim over.

My son, sim upward to here he's gonna start using this full time and, we'll probably I said we'll, probably get rid of both the LG style and the T-Mobile revelry.
