Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Colours By Tech Zilla

I was lucky enough to attend an early prebriefing with Samsung to check out and get hands on with their latest products. The Galaxy Z Flip 3, the new Galaxy Watch 4 series, the Galaxy Buds 2 and of course the Big Boy the Galaxy Z Fold 3. The biggest question I get asked is which colourway is better, so in this video I will be comparing the 3 colour choices of the Z Fold 3. So if you are considering buying one stay tuned. Welcome everyone, I’m Tech Zilla and I was lucky enough to check out the 3 different colour options for the Z Fold 3, so today I will be comparing them and showing you the difference between them helping you decide which one before you pre order. There are there variants available, Phantom Black, Phantom Silver and Phantom Green, All three have a matte finished back and the metal frame is non glossy.

The hinges on all three are shiny but not a mirror finish, so very similar to the Z Fold 2. So lets get into it, First off lets tackle the most subtle and underrated option, the Phantom Black, in my honest opinion I really really like this option because in person it looks much better than on camera, The back finish is very similar to the Phantom Black S21 Ultra. The black back glass has a subtle finish which shifts from almost black to a smoky gray which never looks like a deep jet black probably because of the non glossy finish. The back as expected doesn’t really show fingerprints unless you have very greasy or sweaty hands then when you shift the device the smudges appear at various angles. The metal frame sandwiched inbetween the screens and the back panel has a flat black finish and is finished in a way which looks very classy and sleek and the antenna bands are in a dark gray colour almost identical to the metal frame.

The Phantom Black is the choice for anyone looking for understated, classy and subtle look, in my honest opinion and the camera bump is finished in exactly the same colour as the back glass unlike the Z Fold 2 which had a mirror finish so blends in much better in my eyes, making the overall appearance look more sleek. The next colour option is the most popular, the Phantom Green, this is probably the most unusual of the colours. The back has a very subtle 2 tone colourway which starts off a lighter black that graduates to a dark almost black green. The finish like the Phantom Black is a matte texture meaning its not glossy but instead more like a satin finish which doesn’t show fingerprints like the glossy glass finishes of most other smartphones. It also gives the back an almost colour shifting like effect the way it reflects the light and bends the green undertone.

Personally this is my favourite colour option but be aware that the finish I find to be almost black from a distance but next to the Phantom Black then you really notice the difference. The frame is also a flat finish, the metal rails look like a military green colour which matching antenna lines. The frame and buttons match perfectly with the back and they did not show fingerprints in the short time I spent handling it with my sweaty hands. Again the camera hump is finished exactly the same way as the back glass, I would say this option is for anyone who doesn’t want a boring black device or something too flamboyant but instead something more with a quiet elegance but retains a somewhat masculine finish. On to the final colour option for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Phantom Silver, Again like the other colours this has a matte finished back with the camera bump finished exactly the same way.

I would say it is the cleanest looking colourway and when you move it in certain lights it shows a subtle pearlescent colour which is beautiful because of the way it reflects the ambient light. Being a lighter tone ensures fingerprints are less likely to be visible and it is a real stunner, the metal frame is finished in a flat silver colour which looks like a very premium finish. It really does add the finishing touch to the overall colour of the phone by giving it a rich framing tone. Definitely a different option compared to previous Galaxy fold devices and worthy of your consideration.
