Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Unboxing & Hands On

Hey Andrew here for my next tablet, come today with an unboxing and hands on of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab s 6, let's get to it. Alright I finally, have these Samsung Galaxy Tab s, 6 and front of me: I bought it in Germany. He had cost 749 euros, which is quite expensive in the United States. You have to pay at least 649 US, Dollars and yeah I'm guessing that will be roughly between those two rupees international prices pretty much everywhere worldwide. It should be available everywhere worldwide, pretty soon all right. Let's start this unboxing you're seeing the tablet already.

It looks pretty nice. It has the little groove thing on the back for the S Pen Stylus. We will check it out in a bit and more detail, and your tablet seems nice. Then you, of course we have cysts and I power plug, there's nothing special about it. Then we've got the s-pen itself.

Of course, it's included at no extra charge, but you can also get a separate one. If you want, then there's a standard use, PC to type a cable, and then we've got this eject tool for the micro SD card slot, but also for the SIM slot. If you get CA the version in here, then we've got the standard warranty, and it won't eat, Quick, Start, Guide and so on, and we've got a little tool and those extra tips for the s-pen. So yes, a break or say use, then you can exchange them. Alright, since I shot the first parts of this video, a couple of hours have passed already, and I already ran a couple of benchmarks, did a gaming test, and so on and yeah now I can share my first thoughts and experience with this tablet.

First, let's check out the design. We've got a ten point. Five-inch screen here, thereby we slim relatively slim black deserts around the screen. We've got an 8 megapixel front facing camera. There are no physical buttons on the bottom anymore, I believe the last one was the Galaxy Tab s, 3 S 4 didn't have those and yeah, but, unlike with the s4, we do have fingerprint scanner here, but it's under the screen and I believe this is the first tablet to ever be released with the fingerprint scanner underneath the screen access screen, fingerprint scanner we've only seen that in smartphones until now, right yeah.

So that's a nice feature. It seems to work: okay, yeah, the Galaxy Tab s, IV had a fingerprint scanner on this side and the Galaxy Tab s, four didn't have one: it had. And I was gonna, which is missing here, but you can set up facial recognition, but it's only using the normal front-facing camera yeah. So that's the front on the side here, we've condom yeah. On this side.

We've got this little pin connector thing here for the charging dock, but also for the keyboard talk and then on the bottom. We've got two speakers and a USB-C 3.1 port. You can connect normal accessories, but also a mouse or a monitor, or something like that. Then, on this side, we've got three sims: no, the micro SD card slot, because I've got the Wi-Fi version, but if you get CA the, one I'm sure there's some card sets in there as well, then we've got a volume rocker a power button and on the top, we've got two speakers again. So in total the tablet has four speakers similar to an either pro or to other high-end tablets from Samsung themselves and also from Huawei and so on and yeah.

You don't see a headphone jack because that's missing again, that's very sad, but sadly we have to live with that in the future. One more and there's no adapter, also included, which is quite sad anyway, on the back. We've got a camera and that's the first and tablet again I believe we've got two cameras here: 13 and 5 megapixels, and one of them is a wide-angle lens, and then we've got this little groove thing for the s-pen, because the s-pen you see it here it has Bluetooth. So it needs to have a battery. That's the first and an S Pen for a tablet.

The Galaxy Note smartphones are headed for two generations now I believe, but you can charge them wirelessly by putting it there and then yeah. It's get shot by the tablet, Ximena like what Apple is doing, but the position is a bit unusual here on the back. We will see how well that turns out and practice. Then we've got the Samsung logo here and yeah. This is a full metal body.

It feels really high-end, really nice, it's very slim 5.7 millimeters, and it weighs 420 grams, so yeah, it's a really high-end design, very, very similar to the Galaxy Tab s5e, which is cheaper but which does not have the s-pen and only one camera on the back. All right. Let's get to its display we're getting a 10.5 inch. Super AMOLED screen here was an aspect ratio of 16 by 10, and it has a very high resolution of 2560 by 1600 and everything text. Icons, everything looks super sharp, we've got very good viewing angles here, looks pretty nice, and it should be pretty readable outside and yeah.

This is pretty much one of the best screens you can get, especially in an Android tablet, but in tablets in general and I believe it's the same screen from the Galaxy Tab s, 4 and also from the Galaxy Tab s5e I will do a comparison later on in another video, but it seems to be the same screen or at least a very similar one. A nice feature of the screen is, of course, that you can use the S Pen on it and I tested it and with other expense, already sigh all work on here, just in case you're, wondering and yeah. This s-pen is a bit special because it has Bluetooth it's thicker than the estimate for the Galaxy Note smartphones, for example. That means it's a bit more comfortable to hold for long periods of time, but it's a little thinner, I believe in the epic pencil and the Microsoft Surface 10, so yeah I have to use it a bit to see how comfortable is it is over time. It has a button here, no button on the top.

Obviously, we've got the triplets pressure sensitive with over 4,000 pressure points. We have 4000 levels of special sensitivity, annual with it. You can write something down to some drawings and so on, and there are lots of software features for the S Pen included. You've probably seen the echo man's already from other Samsung devices. It looks a bit different right now, and you can start new note.

You can select something cut it out and annotate it. You can take a screenshot and annotated, and you can have made a cute life messages. The translator antenna, which is a drawing app. You can put several things in there I'm, first, pretty much all ads that you've installed, but also there's a magnifying glass and a feature called clans. They can switch between two apps fast and yeah.

That's what's included with the s-pen the sense of Notes, app, of course, which lets you write down, notes I've, written something here already, and you can just continue to write something either by text so with handwriting or you can draw something so yeah. This is test and it has some nice features. It feeds a bit more like you're writing on real paper compared to the Apple Pencil on the iPad, for example, which clearly feels like plastic on less, but this is a softer pen, and it feels a little more. Like paper out of the box, it makes the noise that a pencil makes on paper. You can tell that off.

If you want, you can transform the written text into a real computer text. You can have handwriting recognition and a new feature. That's quickly tested with a browser here. A new feature is transparency feature you can see it here already. If you open a note, that's one of the new features for zs6.

You can adjust the transparency. It has several use cases, one of them, as you can start to draw the tablet here and- and you have here a base on underneath where you can see how you draw it. That's one use case, but also you could have a video running, for example, lecture, and then you can write down notes, and you select the lecture and full screen. You can still see everything, but you can also write or note at the same time. That seems to be quite useful.

There's another feature here where I'm not sure of It's that useful. You can kind of use it as a want like with Harry Potter Samsung introduced it for the Galaxy Note smartphones as well, and it has gestures. You can press once to take a photo press twice to change the camera press twice again and- and you can do those little gestures in the air that's supposed to zoom, and it works a little as you've seen, but somehow I can't really get them to work. Maybe I have to practice a bit. You see them here.

There are several gestures you can do with the pen yeah it's more of a gimmick, something nice you can show your friends or so but the remote that can be useful. It may be not too much in a tablet, but what it works at least alright. So much about the s-pen. Let's get to the internal hardware and inside once a crack comes snapdragon, 855, outscore processor, together with six or eight gigabytes of RAM, depending on the version you're getting and there's a 120, a geek about, or 256 gigabyte internal storage. You can choose between the two and there's, obviously the micros card slot as well, and the snippet reading 855.

It's quite interesting because it has been a wife and Samsung used an up-to-date current process on their tablets. The last two times they used one-year-old chips, which always was a bit disappointing because smartphones were always faster than tablets. But now it's the same. Ships at sea, Snapdragon, 855 legacies on many high-end smartphones. Right now and I already took a couple of interesting screenshots that you should know.

First, out of the box, there are 22 point to kick up: I'd used up by the system already, which actually is quite a lot, if you think of it, I'm sure that 128 gigabyte and total here, but sir 22.2 gigabyte by the system, it's for the Samsung, Note stuff for Samsung, X and so on. So quite a lot. I went a couple of benchmarks like Geek bench, and I'm — — already, and you can see my comparison chart here- that the Galaxy Tab s 6. Officially, it's now the fastest end to a tablet. You can buy it's faster than the Galaxy Tab s 4, which has a two generation old ship, of course, so yeah.

Of course, it's faster. So that's nice to see, and I did do a little gaming test already, and this is one of the few tablets you can use to create 4/10 on one of the few Android tablets you can play for tonight on, and it runs pretty well on here. I was able to set the settings to epic and the frame rate with 30 frames per second, and it was pretty nice if we want 60 frames per second, you have to set the graphics to a high. Only you can't set them to ethic then, but it's fine, I put it epic 30 frames per second, and I was able to play it really nicely. Everything looks great on here and one smooth eye I really like it, and then I also tried, of course, captain Mobile, which is yep.

Those two other most popular games are now where you can really see that graphics, performance, and again it looks really nice much better than on the Galaxy Tab s 5, for example, and yeah set the graphics to HDR and the frame rate to extreme, and again you can see it in this video. It looks really nice, and it's yeah nicely playable. So both games won pretty well on here, all right. Let's get to its software on the Galaxy Tab s, 6, it's running Android, 9 PI. Of course, it should be N, word 90.

In there we go Android version 9 and on top of it is the one UI in version 1.5, that's the own interface from Samsung in a customized Android, very heavily everything looks a bit different. As you can see. Even the settings look different, pretty much everything looks different. However, I think it is quite modern, and I like it, I liked the Samsung one you I recently, and it's much simpler than Touch ID used to be at least that's my impression, because everything is pretty smooth. We've got some things that we don't need to like Bigamy.

I, probably will never use it, but it's say if you want to use it. The tons of other features energies having mode stamps on decks. We will check it out every soon you can record the screens a blue light filters as kids more the night mode, so dark mode. You can replace those buttons here with gestures, there are tons more stuff in the settings of course, they're all the S Pen features that are included as well, and one very important feature is Samsung decks and, let's just started some. Some decks are the desktop mode.

It has been a part of the Galaxy Tab s 4 and the s5e, but only of the higher-end tablets and the s6. Now, if you get the keyboard that doesn't have just the keyboard, it also has a touchpad and the special shortcut to start send some decks. But you can just start it by pressing a button. So that's fine! You can connect any other Bluetooth keyboard or quiet keyboard. You can connect a normal Mouse as well.

If you want and the monitor as well, and then you can kind of have either desktop operating system or I can notebook laptop operating system. You can use it like your notebook at least a little. You can have free-floating apps. Furthermore, you can change the window size like this. Furthermore, you can have several apps open.

At the same time. Of course, you can yeah to all of that, and it looks kind of like Windows or Chrome OS a little, let's open more at the same time that works. You can all put it over and yeah. It's mostly interesting if you're using it with a keyboard and mouse not like I'm doing this touch right now, yeah, it can be quite useful. I used it with this Samsung Galaxy Tab s5e, and you can get some work done with it, especially when you have the mouse and keyboard.

That's quite nice, but I didn't go so far as to be place. My real laptop with it- it's not really powerful enough for that, but I will try it again with the Galaxy Tab I succeed, because a couple of things have changed and yeah. Then we will see all right. Let's turn off Samsung decks all right. Bananas speaking this I didn't do my battery test yet, but it will run overnight, and you're, seeing the results here already for my stand-up area test, I'm, always looping an HD video at medium brightness and turned on Wi-Fi, so yeah you can see the results here.

I hope they are not too bad all right. This is my unboxing and my first impressions of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab s, 6 again the price in the United States, that's at 649 US dollars, which is OK for a high-end tablet. We get really high-end specs here, so it doesn't seem too price. Although the European price, it's a bit pricey I. Think more should just wait a couple of weeks until the prices drop a bit.

If you really want to get it yeah. The first impressions are perfect, really high-end, very quality. Very nice screen we get a pretty nice s-pen. The charging is a little weird, but maybe I can get used to it. Let's see, we've got a nice.

Up-To-Date operating system and Samsung is perfect, with updates, even the Galaxy Tab s 3 just that Android 9. So that's a pretty good track record for the s6 I'm sure we'll get at least two updates at least I hope that that's what happened what's happening. That's what Samsung did was a task and exceed her best tablets. Yeah, first impressions are perfect. It's of course not cheap, cheaper than an iPad Pro, though yeah.

If you have any questions, please write them in the comments I'm starting to review this now I have to do my more tests. I really want to use it as my no public placement for a while as well, and then, let's see how well it is in real life. If you have anything, I should test for my kind of review. Please write it down below I'm, expecting to publish the time to review in a couple of weeks or so. Alright, this is the Samsung Galaxy Tab s.6 for my next telecom, thanks for watching and see you next time.
