Hi guys, what's up and welcome to this week's video. So this week I have two of the best budget tablets which I will be comparing to find out, which is the best budget tablet under 200 pounds. I've searched the internet and these two tablets keep on popping up the Samsung Galaxy tab, a which is the 10 inch 2019 edition, and also the Amazon fire hd10 tablet, which is also the edition which was released in November 2019. , so the Samsung tab, a retails for 169 pounds on Amazon and the Amazon fire HD 10 retails for about 150 pounds, so they're, both quite close in terms of their price point. So I've been using both tablets for the past few days, I've compared their specs and the advantages and disadvantages after I practically use them, and there is definitely one clear winner. So let's look at both these tablets to find out, which is the better one.
So, firstly, looking at the design of both of the tablets, the fire HD is definitely bigger and thicker 2.3 millimeters more to be exact. It's also 50 grams heavier, so it's not as easy to hold, whereas the Samsung tab fits in my hand quite easily. Also, the Samsung tab has a mostly metal build with an unibody design, whereas the fire HD tablet has a plastic build, so Samsung does feel more premium. Overall, then, looking at the ports both offer an USB-C port and an aux cable port, and also you have space to expand your external storage up to 512 GB. The volume and power buttons are situated on the top for the fire HD, whereas for the Samsung they are on the right, which I personally prefer.
Both the tablets come with a 2gb ram and 32gb of internal storage. So looking at both screens side by side, the phi HD's bezels are definitely thicker. However, both do have a full HD screen resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels, so there are no differences there. I do feel that Samsung's display is brighter. The brightness does go up quite a bit, so using both tablets touch screens.
I didn't notice any difference in terms of speed, as they are both fairly smooth and don't really seem to have any glitches. So now, looking at the interface, the fire HDS interface has easy access to all the key apps. However, it does feel like the software is built entirely around all of Amazon's own apps, like the Amazon books, kindle prime video Amazon shopping and music, whereas Samsung feels like a generic android device, which you can tailor to your needs, and I definitely prefer that, rather than being bombarded with all of Amazon's things, I do use Amazon a lot, but I don't necessarily use their music. I have Spotify, oh, and there are also these Amazon ads that you get on the fire. HD would show up on the lock screen every time they are extremely annoying.
There is a way to turn them off, but who would want them on in the first place? The Samsung tab definitely has a more familiar interface and has all of Google's apps pre-installed, like chrome and Google Maps, which is something I definitely prefer over. Amazon's, silk browser and Amazon's own app store. There is definitely a bigger variety on Google's app store, so next taking a look at the camera and video again, this is where Samsung comes out on top with a 5 megapixel front facing and an 8 megapixel rear camera, whereas the fire HD has 2 megapixels on both sides. This video right now looks so fake. The resolution is honestly horrible, so there is a clear quality difference.
Also, Samsung has full HD video recording at 30 frames per second, whereas the fire tablet on records video up to 720p. Besides, looking at the speakers, Samsung has the Dolby Atmos surround sound with both speakers located at the bottom, whereas the fire tablet speakers are located on one side um. I believe the Samsung sounds better overall, with a better bass and better sound clarity and, of course that surround sound experience next, I also compared some extra features, so one feature that I really like about the Samsung tab is the smart view feature. So this is when you can mirror your screen to a TV. So I use this a lot with my family when we're looking at different things together, it's really useful to be able to do that.
The fire HD tablet does not have that feature. However. Amazon's tablet does have Alexei, but of course you can also use Google Assistant they're kind of the same, or it just comes down to your personal preference. Also, another cool thing about the Samsung tablet is that it allows video playback in 4k UHD. So it's definitely a more enjoyable experience to watch things on the Samsung tablet, as opposed to the fire HD tablet.
Also in terms of battery life, Samsung claims to be 13 hours, whereas the fire HD is 12 hours. So, overall, I think it's pretty clear that the Samsung tab is much better value for money. Yes, it is about 19 pounds more expensive, but you are getting so much more for that extra 19 pounds, a better camera, better video playback, a better overall design. If you are somebody that is very deep in the Amazon ecosystem, so you read, you know Amazon books on kindle. You watch prime video, you listen to Amazon Music.
Then you might want to consider the fire HD, because it has easy access to all of those things. However, I would still get the Samsung tab because you can still access all of Amazon's apps, and you can tailor it to your needs and just have a better, more premium device overall with thinner, bezels and a better camera, and things like that, if you have any questions, leave them in the comments below and if you want to see any other kind of reviews, then let me know, and I'll try my best to respond to them and create them.
