Samsung Galaxy S20 FE In 2021! (Still Worth Buying?) (Review)

Welcome back everyone, the Samsung Galaxy s20 Fe, came out a little of time ago, not quite a year. It's been about six seven months. I think- and I can definitely tell you this was one of I think Samsung's the most important phones. They dropped last year. This wasn't a flagship, but it wasn't a budget phone either one of the things that they kind of went ahead and marketed this phone. As, as you know, it was something that it was taking the best of the Samsung Galaxy s20, but making it in a cheaper price tag, and I think that was something that Samsung really killed it in and if they can just kind of make some more Samsung Galaxy s28 fees like a s21 Fe.

I think that would be awesome. Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy s21 kind of took away a lot of things that I missed about. The s20 Fe, like the micro SD card slot. That in and of itself, was a massive thing for sure, but regardless let's go ahead and see how this phone holds up in 2021. Now I will go ahead and leave a link down below.

If you want to pick it up, you can get them from there and also put the channel at the same time now, starting off with the front the Samsung Galaxy s20 FM has that 6.5 inch super AMOLED display, and it's a 1080p panel and to be honest, when I first got it, I couldn't really tell too much that it was a 1080p panel, but I could definitely tell the resolution: wasn't crazy high compared to the s20 at that time, and it was also a flat display. So that was another pretty big difference. It kind of rubbed me off more than like a Samsung Galaxy a71 type of panel, but regardless I thought it was still pretty good. Now you do have that hertz refresh rate on this panel, which, in my opinion, takes this phone's screen from like a seven out of ten, maybe like a six out of ten to like a nine out of ten for the price tag and especially for the price tag right now, as well as, for you know the screen itself, it makes it a much better display- and that is one of my favorite things about this phone for sure, so that in and of itself a humongous highlight for sure you have that whole punch display on the front fingerprint sensor within the display as well. You have the USB type-c port on the bottom, which is great and on the back, you do have the plastic back, which isn't a crazy big deal to me.

I think, for this type of phone, I was surprised to see it on the Samsung Galaxy s21, considering that was kind of more of a budget phone, but with this device you do kind of have that type of capability. Here you still have wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, which is great, so I think for sure the fact that it has still a micro SD card slot reverse wireless charging. All that stuff is seriously some impressive stuff for sure now. Moving on I mean it does have that triple camera setup on the back, and you know we already have to talk about it. So, first, it is almost the same type of setup as the Samsung Galaxy s20.

Even the Samsung Galaxy s21 is very, very similar, so you have that 12 megapixel wide angle lens an 8, megapixel telephoto lens. Then a 12 megapixel ultrawide sensor. Now I really do think that having this triple camera thread, as I mentioned before, I have to come up with a different name. It's so corny, but the fact that it has these three cameras is an awesome thing and definitely one of my favorite things about this phone. Having this type of capability, you can zoom in a lot.

You can zoom out a lot. That's really all you need to be able to do. There's really not a lot of stuff. You need to do to be honest. A depth lens would be great, lighter sensor whatever, but you can do 4k at 60 and that's good enough for me now, unfortunately, with something like the Samsung Galaxy s20, you could do 8k.

So that is something that they didn't put on this phone, but I felt like the video quality was great. The photo quality is great and with Samsung, even though I don't like when UI that much their camera software, you guys have to admit it is one of the best camera pieces of software out there for any device. I am including iPhones they throw everything they can in this type of camera. There's pro mode and the Samsung Galaxy s20 Fe has that capability and, as I mentioned before, having that type of capability on this type of device is going to future-proof yourself like crazy, so take it as you will, but that is something that's really going to separate this phone from, maybe even an iPhone 13. I'm I'm curious to see what iPhone 13 brings with iOS 15 and seeing, if there's a lot more capability with that camera, but this one I think the camera on the back is solid and even the front camera with the 32 megapixel lens is solid as well 4k at 60 there, and it really gets the job done.

I mean I really don't think I think the problem with these android lenses are the apps that take advantage of these cameras so, for example, Snapchat Instagram. Furthermore, I don't know why these app developers don't make the front camera better on these phones. It's insane. I will never understand it. Hopefully it gets better, but as of right now, I really do think.

The back. Camera is great. The front camera is pretty good as well and having 4k 60 on both the front and the back is a really impressive thing for sure, and it is something that I really do like. So in terms of the cameras that really pretty much covers it up now. Moving on to the software and the battery life, probably two of the more important aspects for this phone.

So, first, it does have one UI three technically it started off. I think with one UI two, and I do think you know. Android 11 has been an improvement in a lot of different ways, and some things to consider is that Samsung not only has increased their. You know standard life, support for their phones or software updates, but they've also, you know, helped increase the support for their security updates, so this phone is probably going to be getting android, 12 and then maybe android 13 as well give or take, maybe not, but it will be getting an additional security year of update as well so again, another w. In my opinion, it's like the longer you get these phones, the better they are, and this is another example of it now.

Is it perfect? Not really I'm not a huge fan of one UI. I think everyone knows that by now, but again just having that type of capability of increasing the longevity, hopefully Samsung makes more stock software. If that's the case, this phone may end up getting a software's update with that capability sooner than later, but I think that's a really awesome thing that they have in this specific case now. The battery life is one of the better things about this phone. First, 4 500 million bar battery with the reverse wireless charging and wireless charging.

As I mentioned before, this is another huge area where this phone just takes a huge w, and I think when you have a phone like this, the battery life is one of those things that you're going to love, no matter what it's definitely not perfect, but it definitely gets the job done and, as I mentioned before, no matter what you're going to do with it, I think it's going to be a solid piece of battery. Now I do think you know going up to something like a galaxy. S20 ultra is probably gonna. Do you better, but at the same time you know this thing has a little of an older chipset, it's a little slower, but it has a lower resolution display, even though it's still a pretty big display? It will probably end up evening out, and I really do like the battery life on this phone for sure. So in terms of that, that pretty much covers it up there now ending it off with the performance.

This device does have the Qualcomm snapdragon 865, chipset and arena 650 GPU, and six gigs of ram on the base model and eight gigs of ram on those two top tier models, and, as I mentioned before, this is another one of those areas where this phone just kills it in this is almost as fast as something as maybe as a galaxy s20. If you get those two top tier models, you know like the eight gigabit ram options, it's going to be almost exactly the same thing as the Samsung Galaxy s20, and I think that is a very, very cool thing that you have on this phone with that type of capability. This phone's performance is going to be solid, and I really do think again, no matter what you do with it. It's going to be able to handle everything you do just fine if this thing had like four gigabytes of ram on the top tier model, that'd be a little different, but it has pretty much the same thing going for it and, as I mentioned before, that is a perfect advantage that you have with it. If you're trying to play super intensive games, you're trying to multitask, if you're trying to do maybe like google, docs and editing all this stuff and photo and video editing as long as the app supported on this phone you're going to be able to do it, it's going to be a very good performing phone for sure.

It's not going to be perfect. I do think because of the software, there are a lot of itchiness that goes on. It's definitely a smooth performing phone, but it's just a little glitchy here and there, and that's probably one of my bigger problems. When you have a phone like this, it can be a little glitchy and that's really my only problem other than that. I think it's a very solid performing phone and there's really not that much more to hate on it.

So in terms of that, that pretty much covers it up there now to kind of sum up this video and to answer the question: should you go and buy a Samsung Galaxy s20 FM in 2021? Well, this is pretty much. What I'll tell you. I think this phone is still a perfect phone for the most part, there's not that much to hate on it. It has a lot of capability and I really do think if you have the money like for 500 or 600 in the used market. This thing is a solid phone for sure.

Now I would probably recommend you if you have the opportunity to go up to something like a Samsung Galaxy s21, there's a little more capability with that phone, but you do lose a micros card slot, but I really do think that it may be worth the money for the longevity and stuff, but the s20 Fe you're, getting a solid screen, you're getting that 120 hertz refresh rate a big sized battery with reverse wireless charging and wireless charging. Those are awesome, features that you know even iPhones would have yet and 4 500 William hours. That is a massive size battery you're, getting a solid camera on the back. That camera in and of itself is a solid lens for sure you're. Getting a beautiful, front-facing camera as well.

That in and of itself, is another solid thing. The performance is great. That's going to be able to that's like another, like 30 points right there, and you're getting the micros card slot, which is another humongous w, and the fact that it's a pretty cheap package is a pretty insane deal. In my opinion, it's definitely not perfect. I don't really like the plastic back, and I do think you know the Samsung Galaxy s20 has an overall, better camera.

So if you can probably find that for cheaper, then that's like a no-brainer, but this thing is pretty close to a s20, it's kind of close to a s21. And again, if you have the money, I would say: go for it. If you have a little more money, getting a galaxy, s21 may be better, but probably getting a galaxy. S20 would probably be the even better one on top of all those, so that pretty much covers it up for the most part, if you guys have any other questions or if you want to pick up these phones, as I mentioned before, links will be down in the description you can get them from there and help support the channel at the same time hit the like button, but definitely hit that subscribe button.
