Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra - Terrible Battery! Why i am returning my Mystic White Note 20 Ultra! By SlangCast

What up guys welcome back slang cast tonight, we're going to talk about the Galaxy Note 20 ultra. I have been using this phone since it was released, the mystic white version. I did get it on launch, and I've been using it for a week. Now, unfortunately, I've been having some issues, so I actually took my sim card out last night and I will probably return it at some point this week and I just want to talk about why and the problems I have with the note 20 ultra, if you're new to this channel hit that like button and subscribe or check out my main channel digital slang, where you can find all the latest unboxing and reviews on here on slang cast weekly, live streams every Friday night at 9, 00 pm, as well as some laid back podcast style videos just like this talking all things tech. So I have this love hate relationship with the note 20 ultra-right now and unfortunately, the hate kind of outweighs the love, and I really want to use this phone. I really want to take this and use it as my daily driver.

Unfortunately, there are some issues with this phone that we're going to talk about right now and look there's plenty of videos about specs, I'm not going to get into all that stuff. I will tell you what I really like about the phone, but then we're going to talk about the problems that I have specifically with this phone, and it doesn't seem like everybody, is having these problems. I have talked to some people that are facing the same issues, so I think it's more of a quality control thing with Samsung, and I think there are some bad batches of the note 20 ultra out there, so we're going to talk about it. First, I'm going to tell you what I love about the phone, the screen, the size of it 6.9 inches, AMOLED, infinity, oh display. It's the best screen.

I've ever seen on any phone hands down. The colors are amazing. It's vibrant, it's over saturated, just like all of Samsung's displays, but I do like that. If I go back well, I'm on my 11promax now and the difference between the displays is night and day you can see how toned down the colors are on the 11pro max and some people like that, some people, like the over saturated look of the galaxy phones- and I really like, though I like both I can get used to both. But I love the display on here now.

My one gripe with this phone is the curved edges right man, accidental touches, are real. I guess it's the way I hold the phone, but I have accidental touches every time. I use the phone and I mean every single time give me a flat display. That's all I'm asking for the note 20 the regular version. The thousand dollar plastic phone has a flat display.

If you have a note phone, and you're using an s pen, there's no need for a curved display there. Just isn't it should be flat. If I'm trying to write on there with the s pen, I want the screen to be flat. Come on man, I'm not asking for much give me a note with a flat display now. My other problem with the display they tote this phone as well look for years, they've been toting the note series in general, as it can do everything right, and normally it can so this year they raise the price up.

Thirteen hundred dollars for the base model of the ultra-right. If you want to get some more storage, it's going to cost you a few more a hundred bucks, so the 128 gigs, which first off is too low for 1300 phone minimum storage should be 256 gigabytes. No doubt- and I understand, there's expandable storage. But let's not forget this phone is thirteen hundred dollars to start, let's not forget that all right should be 256 minimum, no excuse 256 or nothing, but what's even worse than that, is they tote this phone as 120 hertz, refresh rate okay, it has it, but I can use it with a quad HD screen. I have to go back to 1080p to use 120 hertz refresh rate.

Why do I have to go back, I'm paying a premium for this phone? This phone is supposed to do everything supposed to give me all the bells and whistles and refined after the s series phones. I can't use 120 hertz on a quad HD screen, so I have to choose now. I have to choose to not use my phone to the best of its ability because it can't handle it and not only can it not handle it look I know.5G is a great thing. I love 5g, I didn't even know I had 5g around here in jersey where I live and whenever I'm not on Wi-Fi, I have 5g everywhere. I go that's great, but this goes into the next problem: right, 120, hertz, refresh rate 5g.

Furthermore, I need a big battery. Quad HD, whatever I choose, quad HD or 120 hertz hurts hertz it's going to drain either way. I go it's going to drain the battery anyway. Anything I choose it's going to drain the battery. If I want both forget it that battery would drain even quicker, so 120 hertz it's going to drain the battery quad HD screen.

If I go that route it's going to drain the battery 5g is going to drain the battery. I only have a 4500 William battery in here my screen on time. I'm going to walk you through my day, and you tell me if this is normal for a phone or if this is acceptable for a 1300 phone. My day starts at 5 30 6 o'clock. Sometimes if I sleep in I'm at work by seven, I'm on my feet.

Printing all day, I make t-shirts for a living. I'm done around 3 30 4, most of the time. So during that time, while I'm at work text messages, business emails phone calls with customers, I'm rarely on YouTube, because I'm printing most of the day so most of the time, I'm not really a heavy user. I don't consider myself a heavy user while I'm at work now after work, that's a different story, but for half the day, I'm just using my phone for social media telephone calls, text messages and that's basically it and I charge my phone at night gets plugged in. When I go to sleep, I take it off the charger.

When I wake up so every morning, it's at a hundred percent I'll, give you an example. Two days ago, three days ago, sorry go to work by 3, 30 4 o'clock, my phone's at 50 come home. Take a shower, eat some dinner, I'm on social media for an hour or two, my phone's at eight percent, eight screens on time. That day was not even four hours. It was about three hours and 45 50 minutes around there.

Eight percent battery life at that point that's terrible, terrible for a thirteen hundred dollar phone. That is a note phone. These guys always had the best battery life right, heavy users, that's what they touted this as that's what this is supposed to be my iPhone 11 Pro max. There are days when I don't even have to charge it. When I go to sleep, I have gone multiple.

I mean 30 40 times, probably more, where I don't have to charge my phone at night, and I'll get through almost the full second day with the battery on the 11 pro max. So these are some of the issues that my note 20 ultra has, and I know some people have gotten great battery life out of it, but I haven't, and it's unacceptable. I paid 1300 bucks for this phone again. There are many things I like about this phone: the build quality. The cameras are improved since the s20 ultra has come out no more a hundred times, zoom we're now at 50.

And it's still that it is. Okay right. I don't need 50 times zoom on my phone, but if you're going to give it to me, okay I'll get some cool shots of the moon. I don't need it. Furthermore, I don't need air gesture.

The s pen is fantastic. I love how it writes now. It feels like I'm writing on something like paper, but I don't need that. I don't need to air gestures, I don't sure, as he'll don't need Bixby. They keep trying to push Bixby off on us.

There are so many things that I don't need on this phone that are here. They should be focusing on what matters battery life get me through the day. Allow me to use 120 hertz with a quad HD screen on 5g and give me a good battery that can handle all that. Do you see this camera bump on here make the phone a little thicker? If you have to, I don't care if I have a little thicker heavier phone. If I had this phone, and it was thicker, but it got me through the day.

I would love it and use it as my everyday daily driver, and I would love it- I'm not asking for a lot perfect, the things that we need in a phone, especially at the 1300 price point before you start giving me all these gimmicks focus on what's important to the power users. This phone is built for professionals for people that are busy for guys at work, taking notes, signing documents, things like that, I'm a business owner this would be my daily driver. If it could get me through a day it can't, it can barely get me through half a day. These are the problems with my note 20 ultra, unfortunately, and I love this phone. The cameras definitely improved still not as good as the Pixel 4a 350 dollar phone, still, not as good as the iPhone 11 Pro max shoots.8K video guess what the video is still not as good as an iPhone. I don't really need 8k video.

Give me perfect, 4k video about that focus on what's important, make it quality, make it perfect before you start giving me all of these crazy add-ons that nobody really cares about anyway. What am I going to do with 8k video? I can't upload it. I can't put it on YouTube, so you guys can see what 8k video looks like. Furthermore, I can't send it to somebody that doesn't have a phone that can handle AK video. Furthermore, I can re-watch it myself, but again go back focus on what's important.

Furthermore, I feel like they looked ahead. They looked past this phone. I feel like this phone was an afterthought. This year they didn't put any thought into the regular note a thousand dollar plastic phone. I feel like they looked ahead to the z-fold 2, and I feel like that's what they're kind of banking on this year and I feel, like the note, is just an afterthought in 2020.

And it's a shame. I've had every note since the note 4. I love the note series. Furthermore, I don't like the s series phones. Furthermore, I think I've only had the Galaxy S8, it's the only one I've ever had, but the note phones I have purchased every year since the note 4.

, but unfortunately my sim is now out of this phone and back in my iPhone, I'm not asking for a lot Samsung. Furthermore, I just want to get through today, and maybe I have a bad model right. Maybe it's an it's a lemon. I don't know there are some other creators on YouTube right now who have had the same problem and have returned their phone and have gotten a new one and now are trying that, so we'll see if it's just a bad batch, if quality control was not up to par and a bunch of bad phones went out. Let me know if you guys are experienced the same thing.

If you have the note phone, not the regular note, but the note 20 ultra. Let me know if you guys are kind of having a similar problem, and it's a shame. I love this phone. I love it. Furthermore, I do, but I can't use it.

Furthermore, I can't use if it's a problem. Furthermore, I can't get through half a day with it, so lots of good things. The build quality, the display, the camera, much improved. The focus problem has been fixed with the problem that was on the s20 ultra the screen. As far as quality resolution.

It's the best screen. I've ever seen. The s pen is fantastic, still lots and lots of good things about this phone, but there are some things missing, and it's a shame right: they switched the s pen and the volume rockers and the power button they've both been switched now and on the other side, I still wish I had my note, 10 plus, to be honest with you. I would be rocking that phone today, if I didn't get rid of it, because I was going to purchase this so the note 20 ultra, maybe I'll, sell it or return it and get a new one. It really all depends on how some other creators how their second phone comes out.

Maybe it is just a bad batch and I hope that's the case, but at the same time I don't know man 4 500, William battery in a phone that has 5g quad HD screen and 120 hertz doesn't seem like it's. It can handle that, so we'll see we'll see if it improves the Galaxy Note 20 ultra, unfortunately- and I know some people are going to hate on this video, and it is what it is. I really don't care. This is my experience with this phone. It's that simple.

I do love the phone, but unfortunately I can't use it.
