Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite vs Note 9 [English Subtitles]

Hello and welcome to ReviewsPK! My name is Ameer And this the full review of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite. And in our today's video we will also compare it with Samsung Galaxy Note 9 because I have recieved a lot of requests in the last few days to do a comparison between Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy Note 9. So, my perspective on this would be a long term user perspective. And hopefully after watching this video, you will be able to decide that whether Note 10 Lite can be a good device for you or not. And that whether you should buy Note 9 or Note 10 Lite and what are the differences between these two. The retail price for Note 10 Lite in Pakistan is given Rs 99,000/- But chances are that you can get it in lower price as well, might as well for Rs 96,000/- or Rs 97,000/- So, if we talk about RAM and ROM variants, the phone is launching in Pakistan with one variant only ,8GB RAM and 128GB built in storage.

That's all for the intro. Lets get into review and comparison. Keep watching! If we start with the display, in Note 10 Lite there is a 6.7 inches big Super AMOLED Infinity O display is given, which has 1080 x 2400 resolution, with the pixel density of 394ppi. Whereas, the aspect ratio is 20 x 9. There is a small hole punch cutout at the top of the display, which is seen in all Samsung phones now.

Along with that, an in-display optical finger print sensor is also given inside this display. On the other hand, in Galaxy Note 9 there is a 6.4 inches display which is smaller than Note 10 Lite display in size and its top and bottom bezels are comparatively broader as well. You get this curve edged display in Note 9 on which there are mixed reviews by everyone. Some people like it a lot and others don't like it very much. Along with that, there is no in-display sensor in Note 9.

Its finger print sensor is mounted at the back. And even-though of last year, because of being a flagship phone, You get more resolution in Note 9 screen. This panel supports maximum Quad HD 2960 x 1440 resolution. But most of the times, I do not use the Quad HD resolution of my Note 9, so that my battery could run longer. When you use a Quad HD resolution, then more processor and battery is used as well.

However, I further reduce the resolution and use it on 720p, mostly. You can maximize your battery life by that. But I feel sorry to say, that there are no such features in Note 10 Lite. Even if you want, you cannot reduce the resolution from 1080p. Which is a slight bummer, according to me.

But if I have to decide, overall, which phone would I prefer? Then, on the basis of display, since the bezels of Note 10 Lite display are thinner, there is a hole punch cutout here, it has a more edge-to-edge look its screen to body ratio is also better than Note 9, because Note 9 is older therefore it do not have that new modern trendy fresh look. Because of which, on the basis of display, overall, I like Note 10 Lite more. But when we talk about build quality, then last year's flagship will always defeat today's mid range phone. The reason to that is when a flagship phone arrives in the market, it caters the premium price customers. On one hand, there is Note 10 Lite in front of which, it not even certain if there is a Gorilla Glass or not, and the back is of glastic.

Which is flexible like plastic but its scratch resistance is like a glass. Whereas, on the other hand, the build of Note 9 is of glass and metal. Where there is a Gorilla glass 5 at front and back with an aluminium frame in the center. Along with that, there is IP68 dust and water resistant in Note 9 as well. The only benefit of Note 10 Lite here is that its glastic back will endure drops and falls better.

But if overall build quality is measured on the basis of materials and features, then I definitely prefer Galaxy Note 9. Lets talk about the S-pen now. S-pen is the main feature for me because of which, I am using Note series since Note 8 to this day. With this S-pen, you can quickly take notes off-screen as well. A part of the screen or after taking screenshot of the whole screen, you can write notes on them.

You can select a text and translate it, make GIFs of videos. With air action, you can use this pen as a remote and take selfies too. And play/pause movies and videos as well. Along with that, you get a very precise and granular control with S-pen. With which, you can use desktop level applications, websites, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets and other similar things easily.

Which might be a difficult experience without a stylus. But as far as comparison is concerned, the S-pen experience of Note 10 Lite and Note 9, and their S-pen features are alomost identical. Then on the basis of S-pen, there is no clear winner between them. By the way, if you are liking this video then drop a thumbs up below. Lets talk about the cameras now. Note 10 Lite has a triple camera setup at the back which includes a 12MP Wide Angle camera of f/1.7 aperture, which is optically stabilized, a 12MP Telephoto camera of f/2.4 aperture, this is optically stabilized as well, ans a 12MP Ultrawide camera of f/2.2 aperture. Whereas, at the front side, a 32MP Selfie shooter of f/2.2 aperture. On the other hand, if we look at Note 9 like 2018, there is a dual camera setup given at the back. Which includes a 12MP Wide Angle Lens of f/1.5-2.4 dual aperture, which is optically stabilized. And a 12MP Telephoto camera of f/2.4 aperture, this is optically stabilized as well. But Note 9 do not have any Ultra wide camera.

And on the front side, an 8MP selfie shooter of f/1.7 aperture is present. If we just talk only about features, we are getting better specifications and features in Note 10 Lite. Firstly, an Ultra wide camera is also given in Note 10 which was not present in Note 9. And this Ultra wide camera gives you an interesting perspective. There are often times when you have to punch back a little, and require a wider field of view.

And this helps in such situations. Along with it, if we talk about Selfie camera as well, it is 32MP in Note 10 Lite whereas it was 8MP in Note 9. It did not make much of a difference, as we will see further in the video. But if we talk about image samples, the colour reproduction of both the cameras was accurate and the dynamic range was good as well. However Note 9 colours were a little less saturated whereas colours of Note 10 Lite images were more punchy.

If we talk about the Telephoto and Wide angle lens of Note 10 Lite, so when you switch between these three cameras, you feel a slight shift in colours. Which you could clearly see in these images. The colour match in Note 9's Telephoto and Wide Angle lens was far better than this one. Again, Flagship level devices you feel more attention-to-detail in these precised things. Because of which, Note 9's camera works better in switching.

If we talk about selfies, I didn't see much difference in the quality of selfies here. Which goes to show, that MegaPixel count is not everything and you can get good images in low MP as well. But if we talk about it overall, I liked the camera experience of Note 10 Lite slightly more. One reason for that is this Ultra wide camera, which is a good feature Along with it Since Note 9 was launched in 2018, so my sense says, that there had been improvements in softwares and hardwares with time, which I might couldn't see either. Lets talk about some specifications and internals.

The specifications of Note 9 and Note 10 Lite are almost identical. Both phones have Exynos 9810 chipset, which is based on a 10nm architecture. And is basically, an equivalent of Snapdragon 845. It is a 2 year old chipset, but still it is not an underpowered chipset in any way. Along with it, both phone has Mali G72 GPU.

If we talk about the RAM, there is a little difference, there is an 8GB RAM in Note 10 Lite whereas Note 9 was launch with 6GB of RAM in Pakistan. If we talk about the built-in storage, so both phones has 128GB built-in UFS 2.1 Storage. Both phones come with Hybrid SIM slots, that is you can either insert 2 SIMs in these phones or 1 SIM and 1 microSD card. Talking about the interface, at this time, both phones has Android 10.0 on top which there is Samsung's own OneUI 2.0, Note 10 Lite will come with this interface out of the box, whereas you can upgrade Note 9 to this. If we talk about the primary difference in features and specifications, like flagship devices, Note 9 comes with dual stereo speakers.

Again, you will see the same thing, where these little things makes a difference. Because there are no stereo speakers in Note 10 lite, instead, just a bottom firing speaker, that is a single mono speaker. To observe the performance, let's start with the benchmark results, In Geek bench 4, the single core score of Note 10 Lite, was 3685, whereas the multicore score was 9211. Whereas the Antutu score was 334779. On the other hand, if we look at the scores of Note 9 in Geek bench the scores are almost same, as we saw on Note 10 Lite.

If we look at the Antutu, it is a little less. But do remember that I am using my Note 9 for 1 and a half years now. All of my apps are in it so a lot of process will be working in the background all of that. But in performance, on a day-to-day basis, you will not feel that much differences. Both phones, will run a lot of heavy apps.

They will easily run all of your games. PUBG and Call of Duty both will run on high settings. Recently, I did a match in PUBG which we played with other Youtubers, I will link that if you want to see it. I played that match on my Note 9 as well, not only my phone was working on 1440 resolution but also I played PUBG on high settings and I also did a screen recording in 2960 x 1440p resolution. Meaning, everything was working in full power My Note 9 did not lag even once.

I did not feel any stutter. So you can see that Note 9, despite of being a 1 and a half year old phone is a quite decent performing phone. If we talk about the fingerprint sensor, the rear mounted fingerprint sensor of Note 9 is more responsive. However, the in-display fingerprint sensor of Note 10 Lite, like Samsung's other mid range and lower flagship level devices, was a little slow. But where, in the overall performance of these phones, a very huge gap could be seen, is the battery size and charging speed.

Yes! A huge 4,500 mAh battery is given in Note 10 Lite, and the phone has Samsung's own 25W fast charging. Whereas, in Note 9, a comparatively smaller 4,000 mAh battery is given, and if we talk about charging speed, the phone comes with a 15W Samsung Adaptive Fast charge. Although, this is a fast charging, But at this moment, in the market this is considered the slowest fast charging Vivo has an 18W Dual Engine fast charging. Dash charge from OnePlus and VOOC charge from Oppo both works in 20W. Where the Warp chrage of OnePlus works in 30W.

And I am telling you according to the day-to-day usage the one frustrating thing I found in this phone is that it charges really slowly and it has happened a lot times now that my battery was dead but I needed my phone. And when I put it to charge it was charging really slow. But if we talk about Note 10 Lite its charging speed is pretty fast. It took me approximately 30 mins to get from empty to half, which means that this phone can be charged 25 - 30% in 15 minutes which is pretty decent. If we talk about the battery life at this time, Note 9, with a fully charged battery, can give you a whole day.

But if I use it heavily sometimes battery is drained even before that. But if I talk about Note 10 Lite, this phone gives me a single day very easily, it can give 1 and a half day as well. And if your usage is light, I think this phone might also give 2 days. And if it does not, 25W fast charging is so fast that, honestly, the battery size does not become a major problem. If you put 1 charger in you house another in your office then you will not face any issue.

If the battery of this phone gets low then top up for a little while and you will get a lot of time out of it. I forgot one thing in the video and that is that there is wireless charging in Note 9 where as there is no wireless charging present in Note 10 Lite. And this is also another flagship feature which we see in every phone in flagship price point but when you get to Upper Mid range or lower flagship phones level so, mostly this feature does not exist. Back to the video. So, overall if I had to choose a winner on the basis of performance I will choose Note 10 Lite and reason for that is this phone's huge battery and much faster charging which improves your overall experiences.

Now, let's move to the conclusion, first thing is that "Should you buy the Note 10 Lite or not?" According to me, you can make a case for Note 10 Lite just for those who needs an S Pen. Meaning, if you have to work very precisely on your screen or you have to take notes really fast, or need to use those kind of features of S Pen which I told you before then, only this phone can be useful for you Along with it, for this price range the battery size and the charging speed of this phone both are reasonable. But where Note 10 Lite lacks a little behind, that is, build quality. In this price range you can get, from other brands, Gorilla Glass 5 and Gorilla Glass 6. Along with this, if we compare it with Note 9, Note 10 Lite is missing some premium features like IP68 Dust and Water resistance, stereo speakers, Quad HD display resolution.

But at the end of the day in less than Rs.1,00,000 price point you are getting the S-pen experience which, in my opinion, is very useful. And if you are a power user then this phone can be a great option for you as well. So, should you buy the Note 9 or Note 10 Lite? According to me, you should get Note 10 Lite its camera is a little updated, it has a bigger battery, has a better charging speed so, for power users, for productivity user and for a little future proofing this phone can be a better choice. So, this was our review of Note 10 Lite. Overall I really liked the Note 10 Lite.
