Samsung Galaxy Buds PRO - Unboxing & Review!

What's going on guys it's your average consumer, and we are finally back with the first video of 2021, and today we are checking out these little guys over here. The Samsung Galaxy buds pro now you might have heard about these during the unpacked event, alongside the galaxy s21. Well, I've had them for a little while now, so I figured I'd, give you guys my full review, let you know all the cool things about them, and what's not so great, but first, let's start off with a little unboxing, so real quick. They come in a small, clean, looking box with the back mentioning some key features, but once you pop it open you're, greeted by the buds in their tiny carrying case, it's tiny, but about the same size as the Galaxy Buds live case. We saw last year also in the box. You'll get an USB c to a cable as well as different size, ear tips, and these are pretty interesting, but we're going to talk about that a little later inside the carrying case, though you'll, of course get the Galaxy Buds pro.

So let's talk about them. So here we have them guys. These are the Galaxy Buds pro, so these are Samsung's new premium. Earbuds we've seen the Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Buds live, which I'm kind of sad to see go the Galaxy Buds live had that bean design that stayed in your ear really well, but I guess Samsung didn't like people calling them bean, so they changed up the form factor and, as you guys can see, they've got a more normal look to them. So now these are in earbuds, they've got the ear tips, and they do a pretty decent job staying in place.

Now I actually ran into a few issues with the fit when I first put them on uh, but I implore you guys those little extra earbuds that they send in the box make sure you use them. All I need to do is switch one of the sizes fit just fine. Now, I'm pretty good, but it's interesting when I actually swapped out the earbuds. Take a look: doesn't this design look really familiar this flat? Look, that's kind of like what we saw with the AirPods Pro now. These don't use a magnet.

The ear tips actually cover this portion, but it's interesting because we never saw this like flat design before the AirPods Pro uh, but listen, I'm not mad at it. Whatever works, you know now me. Personally, I've always been a fan of the Galaxy Buds line. They always looked really minimal, spotless. I think these also fit the bill fellas.

What do we think Carl fashion guy? It was good. Did you just call yourself fashion? Guy? Okay, so it gets Carl seal of approval jay. What you think my man, I like the black you like the black, I feel like we always don't get the black version, and we finally got them this time, and they look even better than any of the previous ones we've used in the past. They look really nice and clean, really low-key. So from a design standpoint.

I like these a lot, but I'm going to miss those beans. Man, I'm not going to lie those beans were they were interesting. They were fascinating. They didn't have anything that needed to go inside your ear, and they still did a perfect job at staying in place. I mean who wants their product to be referred to, as a being I guess you know, I get it now for those of you who want to use these for working out.

They are ipx7 rated, so they can deal with some sweat. I believe they can be in water for 30 minutes for about one meter now do I think these will stay in place during a workout yeah, if you're doing all that it'll be fine, yeah, it's gonna work out, jade, don't be hating. Now one of my favorite things about these earbuds is the fact that they're so compact. Now we talked about how minimal they look, but when you throw these things inside their case, you guys can see they're really, really small, and they take up no space. When you want to throw them into your pocket, you can almost forget about them.

I love that about the Galaxy Buds. Now the carrying case does offer extra battery life, as we know, with truly wireless earbuds active noise-canceling on you're, going to get about five hours of listening time with just the buds themselves and an extra 18 hours from the case. Now, if you turn off active noise, canceling you'll get about eight hours and an extra 20 here, totaling 28 hours, so it's actually perfect battery life without active noise, cancelling getting eight hours. That's on the upper end, usually earbuds kind of clunk out around that five, four and a half to five hour mark with, like the airpods AirPods Pro, but this is almost like powerboats kind of battery life, so really impressive, considering the size and form factor of these, if you don't care for the active noise, cancelling this guy Carl loves his powerboats, and since we already touched on the fact that these have active noise-canceling, let's talk about that some more so, like I mentioned, these do have active noise-cancelling as well as that transparency mode that we see in a lot of Bluetooth. Earbuds these days it's becoming pretty standard.

Now, how does the active noise-canceling perform right? Well, I think the active noise-cancelling with music does a pretty good job. Without if it's okay, it's not the best. I've ever heard in earbud form. We saw that with the Galaxy Buds live, the active noise-cancelling was almost non-existent. This is a step-up from that.

It's a bit better. I can tell the difference when I turn it off and on. If you want to completely block out everything, I still don't know if they get the job done now. What's impressive is when you pull out the app you actually have quite a few controls for the active noise, cancelling and the transparency mode or the ambient sound mode. So when you do active noise, canceling the active noise-cancelling isn't going to kill all the sounds in your environment.

This is really for. Like those low hums, you know like a fan or whatever those little hums. That's what these are really going to be kind of eliminating. So, if you're looking for an active noise, canceling experience where you just can't hear anything without music, that's not what you're getting here! But it's interesting that you can control the level of active noise-cancelling, honestly. I have a hard time really seeing the difference between the two levels.

So I just keep mine on high at all times now, when it comes to the ambient sound mode, that's a big difference! I can hear myself pretty well for me personally, I like to keep it at medium. When you start going into high and extra high things start to get a little weird uh right now, um, I have it on extra high, and I hear myself as if I'm like talking into a microphone- and I have speakers like I'm in a stadium or something- and I can hear myself or if I'm like in karaoke, like in a karaoke room, and I'm speaking into the microphone. You know how you always hear yourself. That's what it sounds like with the extra high on. So unless you really need to hear people around you, and you really don't want to take off your earbuds.

I don't really recommend the extra high. I think the most natural comes in the medium setting, but I will say, though, this ambient sound mode has definitely improved uh compared to like the Galaxy Buds live now. This also has a feature called voice detect. So if I'm listening to music- and I have it like on- you- know- active noise-cancelling when I throw on that voice, detect feature it'll hear me speaking like let's say I start talking to Carl it'll drop, my music volume down it'll, take it off active noise, cancelling take it into ambient mode, and it'll. Allow me to hear anybody.

I might be having a conversation with, and you can actually go ahead into the settings and change how long that setting lasts after you finish your conversation. So if I finish talking to Carl five, I have to set on five seconds. So five seconds later, I'm going to be able to get right back into my audio, like I was listening to before, and it also is pretty smart in the way it handles it. If you say something by mistake like let's say you stub your toe, and you're like ow, it's not gonna, kick it in immediately, but if you say something for like you know if you count to two it'll hear both of those, and it'll kick in that mode. So if you just cough you're, not gonna, it's not gonna, kick it in.

I like the way they did the voice detect here, and I like that. It also doesn't completely cut out your music in case you're, really listening to something I think they handled the voice. Detect uh feature pretty well now, of course, because these are galaxy, but they have the standard touch. Controls that you come to expect you touch to play and pause double tap, to go forward a track and triple tap to go back. Answer calls all that kind of stuff, but I did find that I had a bit of an issue with these with those touch controls, because every time I go to adjust it, if I need to it registers that as a touch to play your music or do something, and it gets really annoying fast.

So there is a setting on the app where you can block touches, but you know that kind of defeats. The purpose you don't want to turn off the touch. That's that's how you control it. I wish the touch feature was like specifically like higher up or something so that if I went like this it wasn't it wouldn't like activate anything, and you can also long touch so that it can activate certain things. You can control that in the app, so you can control your volume, have Bixby pop up and do Bixby things, or you can.

You know open up certain apps like Spotify, that kind of thing. So it's up to you. I like that it's customizable what you can do with the long touch. I just kind of wish those accidental touches weren't as prominent as I've experienced and similar to what we've seen apple do with the AirPods Pro they've got their own version of spatial audio. It's called 360 audio with Dolby Vision, head tracking.

So, as you move your head around, you should hear your audio kind of shift. I haven't gotten a chance to test it out yet because, as of shooting, this video, the required software isn't out, but I've used the feature before and if it's anything like spatial audio it'll be pretty cool and there's another cool feature that we've also seen apple, do and that's called auto switch which allows you to switch between different galaxy devices if you have them. So, if you have like a Galaxy Tab, 7 and the s20, you can switch between them with the same earbuds without having to repair every time. It should be pretty cool to go from watching content on one device to answering calls on a galaxy phone, so I'm very happy to see that come to the buds. Now, let's talk about the sound quality, I think that these actually sound pretty good um.

You make sure you have the right ear tips to get the best sound quality out of them. These ear tips are just as important for comfort as they are sound, so just like with any in-ear buds. Once you have the right fit, you have the proper seal. The sound quality will sound a lot better than if you have the wrong one, but I've got the right combination here, and I was pretty impressed by the sound. I of course threw a bunch of different genres at this, and it did really well for each one that I threw at it doesn't have us a ton of bass.

The bass was definitely present. It didn't sound weak, it sounded pretty full had like a pretty nice full sound um, I want to say, they're, mind-blowing, but they absolutely get the job done now for an audio file. That experience may be a bit different, but I think for the average person who just wants a nice pair of earbuds, these definitely do a good job. My only real issue when it comes to listening to audio with This is, I always find myself living at that 100. I would constantly find myself trying to bring the volume up even more.

I do wish these got a little louder now these are Samsung's premium, earbuds, and they're charging 200 for them, and I kind of missed the days of the Galaxy Buds costing like in the low hundreds that made them pretty easy to recommend because they were at a really nice price point now, of course, these do have a bit more features, so they cost a bit more, but I do miss that price point. Furthermore, I'm not sure if I'd grab these at 200 bucks, but considering when you purchase like a s21 or something chances, are there's going to be tons of promotions. If you're going to get a s21, I would say it is safe to invest in these. If you have to throw in a little more, I personally really like the form factor. I think it offers great battery life active noise.

Cancelling is okay, uh transparency mode is a lot better than it's been in the past. It's definitely usable, and it offers all the standard features that you come to expect from truly wireless earbuds. These days, sound quality is pretty decent. I definitely don't think anyone's going to have an issue with that unless you're like an audiophile, and you're, looking for like a really specific kind of sound 200 bucks, because they're the premium option this time a little hard to swallow, but I do like these overall, I'm just going to miss the days of the Galaxy Buds being like that easy recommendation, because it was cheaper than all the other options out there, while still being a pretty good value uh, but that about wraps up for this video guys. Hopefully you enjoyed it.

If you did be the cool guy or girl that gives this video a thumbs up, and I'll catch you guys in the next one 2021 you guys is going to be a great year mark my words yes, yeah jane knows. I agree until next video guys' peace, it's not that bad, it's better than the beans I'll admit.
