Samsung Galaxy A8 Unboxing & First Impressions

A series that Samsung sometimes started recently is the galaxy, a series, and this series would be one level below the flagship of galaxy s, of the note series, and today we are unboxing one such phones, which is the Samsung Galaxy a8. This is GK from tech, PP, calm, let's go ahead so in terms of the boxing Samsung has really mellowed down, or we used to see the lot of colorful log prints all over the box and the box is used to be bigger and things like that. But now it's so it's a very compact box and comes in a single color with bare minimum branding here. So this looks to be a very sturdy box because it has to travel law to many parts of the world. You've seen such packaging gov that was introduced by companies like show me and one place and different things. So, let's unbox this so Samsung claims this to be of the slimmest ever phone yet, and this comes at 5.9 mm thickness. So, let's see one of the highlights of this phone is this is manufactured in India, and that is one of the things that many companies are shooting for.

So we have the gold colored galaxy a8. Here, let's look at the other contents of the phone boss. So in here we have a quick start guide and a warranty man, was warranty card and manual. We have the USB cable, and we have the charging adapter and, of course, a pair of earphones- and we have something here. This is the sim ejector pin and an additional set of earbuds in case the ones on the earphones get damaged.

So let's come back to the phone, so this galaxy a8 comes with of big 5.7-inch screen um. This is the super-mo LED display and this weighs 151 grams and comes at just 5.9 mm thickness, and this is claimed to be the slimmest of a phone that Samsung has made. This comes with a protection of Gorilla Glass, but three or four. We are yet to confirm, because you know there's not many details on that available at this point in time. So, overall, though, this is a very tall phone, it does feel comfortable in the hand because, if it is slim and overall, the design aspects, if you see um, it is a curve here and there's a curve there, and you know overall, it's very appealing and Samsung is going for the style with this phone.

So let's power this up, so while the phone boots up, let's look at the other aspects of the design. We have a 16 megapixel camera at the top here that comes with a 1 micro, pixel or capable of taking some stunning pictures. We have the speaker grill. This is something really different from the other speaker grills, that we've seen in the previous versions of the Samsung phones, and we have a huge LED flash here. So a combination of all of this is what might give some perfect pictures, we're here to test that out but all looks impressive um.

There is the trademark bump that we have also seen and the Galaxy S6 and the note as well. This is the dirtiest banning again, so, overall, the back no dough looks shiny. It is not as slippery as it looks to be, and this is a non-removable back and hence you cannot remove the battery as well. So you have the power rocker at the right hand, side here, good tactile feedback um seems to be built off very good material on the top. You just have the microphone and on the other side you have the volume rocker.

This is rather a very odd positioning of the volume rockers, because usually you tend to have these solemn Rockets in the middle, and probably this is because this is a very tall phone and hence you have your thumbs reaching up here rather than here. So that is what one reason why Samsung could have gone for the volume rockers really at the top here- and you have the dual sim trace here, and you know this can take up to Sims that can run on 4G. This variant is 32 gigs and this can be expandable or up to 128gb. So that's a huge advantage. So let's go through the initial setup.

So this also has the standard backlit buttons here, one for the applications ones for one for the back and the fingerprint here, the fingerprint scanner. So these are the key selling propositions of the phone. Let's get through this real fast, so powering this phone is the Touch ID UI that is built of Android lollipop. Five point, one point one: so over the years the Touch ID has improved and the ones that is built of lollipop you know seems to be really snappy as compared to the previous versions. Let's also look at the amount of storage that is available for the user here, so the user has nearly 25 gigs of memory.

So that's a good one, considering the fact that it can also be expanded up to 128gb so coming to the other aspects of the phone. This is powered by a Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor clocking at 1.8, gigahertz accompanying. It would be a two gig of ram and Arena 405 GPU and, like I already mentioned, 32 gigs of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128gb. So overall um looks to be quiet, okay and the reason why I say that is this comes with the Snapdragon 615 processor, which usually comes in phones in the range of 9,000 or 10,000. We've seen that comment, the zen phones we've seen that come in the for eyes, but this is slightly higher range of phones, but there are other things that really make up to the price that this comes out, which is which are things like the fingerprint scanner, where you can.

You know double click to launch the camera and the build quality overall, the sliminess of the phone, the post sales support and the kind of you know, camera modules that you get here really make up for the high-end phone that Samsung is pitching for here. So as big as the phone itself is, this is powered by a very powerful battery which comes at 3050. Mhm, claims to be lasting longer, but we'll have to see that this is a super mo LED screen, five point: seven inches and things like that. So I will try to spend some time with the device. Try to see how it performs, especially the camera, the battery performance and also the gaming, which will be very interesting, because this is running on Islam dragon 615 so coming to the price.

This is priced at or it is an MRP of 35,000 500, which comes off as slightly costlier. But if you can strike a good deal on Flipkart or your local store somewhere around the 32 to 33 thousand range for the 32gb variant, which seems to be the only variant available now, so we'll be back with the detailed review of the a8, they will be stylish the slim phone and that is manufactured in India, so until the next one.
