Samsung Galaxy A72 Review: Should You Buy it!?

Mid-Range phones are getting better and better, and that is the case with Samsung Galaxy a72, hey guys, my name is KJ OS, and this right here is the Samsung Galaxy a72 Samsung's new line of mid-range devices for 2021, and I have been using this for over a week as my daily driver. Now this is a 6.7 inch. Super AMOLED display with the 90 has refresh rate a snapdragon 720 g, a whooping 5, 000 million pounds of battery and a new camera setup, but for the price of 215, 000, area or 447. Is this phone worth getting? Well? Let's get this party started and find out the most attractive thing about the Samsung Galaxy a72 is the color mine. Is this sweet purple, violet color? That makes the phone stand out? It also matches the color scheme of my galaxy box pro and, I must say, Samsung did a very good job with it. Okay, this is a hot take, but I believe that apple saw what Samsung did with the galaxy s21 the purple color and decided to do the same thing for the iPhone 12.

Hence, why we saw a new iPhone 12 with the new spring-loaded event. I mean look at this. It's really beautiful, and I don't even blame apple for adding this purple color to the iPhone 12. , but the a72 is like a frosted back kind of like a matte finish, and I believe that this is how all smartphones on all mid-range smartphones should be made going forward. The camera bump is done pretty well design wise, and it's close to the s21 in terms of its placement, but it's not at the edge of the phone.

So I guess Samsung wanted there to be a clear difference between both phones, because a casual user might mistake this for the January flagship. It's a quad camera setup with a standard wide-angle lens telephoto ultra-wide and a macro camera that nobody is going to use. But we'll talk about that later below the phone has good stereo speakers that surprised me and listening to music was very satisfying. I might even say it's better than the speakers on the pixel 5. It also has the ever-loving headphone jack.

If you are still teamwork, earphones over Bluetooth ones, charging-wise. It comes with a 15-watt, USB-C charger and also supports 25-watt chargers, but you need to spend a few extra dollars to get it. It takes about two hours to charge to 100, so it's pretty standard for most smartphones that are out there on the side. The volume button and the power button are placed properly all on the right side of the phone. You will most likely trigger Bixby by trying to turn on or turn off your phone, so you can remap it for long presses and also for app shortcuts.

I set mine to always open the camera. When I double tap it. Samsung c makes the best displays on any smartphone either flagship or mid-range. The a72 has a 6.7 super AMOLED 1080p, full HD screen with peak brightness, reaching 800 nits. This has better peak brightness than the pixel 5 and the galaxy s25 edition.

I certainly did not have any issues using my phone outside during the day and I find consuming content on the a72. Pretty satisfying with this large display and vibrant colors, it's pretty hard reaching all four corners of the phone due to the height of the display, and that can become a bit annoying. So if you have small hands, you might want to turn on one handed mode in the settings, as this makes the phone a bit easier to use. The 4g version of the a72 has a 90 hertz refresh rates, while the 5g will have 120 hertz. Now I don't know if it's just me, but I found the 90 hertz on this a bit disappointing.

Actually I compared this with the pixel 5, and I found that the pixel 5 gave me a smoother experience and then maybe due to the processor, but I just didn't like the way the nitrous felt on this phone. The front facing camera is in the middle, and that has become a standard for most and new Samsung devices that are coming out. It's not distracting whatsoever, and I think we've become accustomed to it. It has the under display fingerprint scanner for unlocking your phone, and I think that this is the best way to unlock your phone. If you're being very honest, it just makes installing and using the phone with the screen protector a lot more stressful, it's not the fastest fingerprint scanner in the world.

It takes about two to three seconds: to unlock your phone and sometimes due to moisture. It won't even recognize your finger, so you might need to take a few attempts, so how's the performance on the Samsung Galaxy a72. Well, it's pretty okay, and it's what you expect from a mid-range device. I think I'm going to give it like a 7 over 10. It gives a few lags and stutters sometimes, when I want to open an app or when I want to reopen an app, I opened say an hour or two hours ago.

It might deter your experience because it's very noticeable and to some it's an annoying feature. Spec wise, is the snapdragon.720 g is slight upgrade from the a71 from two years ago. There are two variants of storage and ram. The first is six gigs of ram with 128 gigs of storage, and the other is eight gigs with 256 gigs of storage and, of course the latter is more expensive and overall, it's pretty satisfactory. If you can ignore the occasional lags and unresponsive touches sometimes okay, let's talk about one UI for a second, it still ranks.

Fourth, in my open system ranking and to be fair, when I get Samsung devices, I just switched to nova launcher or the pixel launcher, because I do not really like one UI, but I decided to just use it this time and my opinion hasn't really changed. The icons feel very elementary. The notification tray is clunky, amongst other things. Now don't get me wrong, it's pretty clean, it's fast and quite functional, but imagine this Samsung's very good hardware paired with stock android, and that is the ultimate dream and ultimate dream. We are probably never going to see.

One of the few redeeming factors for one UI for me is the fact that I can color code my apps, it's just easier for me to just always remember what color of the app it is, and I know where exactly where to look the battery life on the Samsung Galaxy a72 is a whopping five thousand million pounds of battery and Samsung also says it's a two-day battery which they're not so far off. For someone like me that has eight to ten hours of screen on time on a daily basis. I return home or end my nights with about 20 to 25 when I want to sleep, and that is about 11, to 12 a. m. Now, for casual users, they can definitely get two days of battery easily without any issues.

But for me, I have not killed this so far, and actually I'm very impressed with what I have or what I used so far. The camera on the a72 is a quad setup. It has a 64, megapixel, wide angle, lens an 8 megapixel telephoto, a 12 megapixel ultra-wide and a 5 megapixel macro lens and in front. It gives us a 32, megapixel, front-facing camera. Meanwhile, dangle lens takes decent photos, but sometimes it can be very inconsistent with the color accuracy, but most of your shots will come out.

Looking vibrant and pretty decent. As always, the ultrawide is a fun to have addition and on the a72. It gives off a weird angle, sometimes kind of like a fish eye type lens, and the pictures come out a bit darker than usual. The telephoto lens has a 3x zoom. If you're into that kind of thing, it's not really.

My cup of tea, as most zoomed in pictures, tend to lose quality, you're better off just using a wide-angle lens and cropping it in portrait mode works just as well. It gives good background and subject blur separation and night mode did not impress me at all. As there was not much difference between this and normal images, the front facing camera is pretty decent. You might need to get lots of light to get the desired result. Video wise it shoots at 4k at 30 frames per second and 1080p at 30 and 60 frames per second and has pro features.

If you want to have full control, the Samsung Galaxy a72 takes all the right boxes of a good midrange smartphone. But the question is: can I recommend this phone to you guys, and the answer is no. I can't, and it's not like the phone is bad or anything, but Samsung also released this um galaxy a52, which is better value for money than this, and that goes for about 329. But if you're going to get that you're going to miss out on a few things like a bigger battery, a bigger screen and a 3x zoom on the camera. But I don't think that is enough to spend more money on.

But if you want those things, though, the a72 is a great choice and if you want to support the channel, there's an affiliate link in the description. If you want to buy the phone so check it out. So what do you guys think?
