Samsung Galaxy A51 VS IPhone 12! How Does The Most Popular Mid-Ranger Matchup?

What is up guys today, we'll be comparing the Samsung Galaxy a51 one of the best-selling mid-rangers to the iPhone 12. So let's go ahead and get started. You can find the a51 brand new for around 267 I'll put the links down below iPhone brand new is going to cost you around 8 30. Uh. So let's go ahead and get started with the hardware of both of these phones. So, as you can see the a51 a little taller than the iPhone 12 and definitely a little thinner as well, so glass and metal on the iPhone, and you have a plastic design on the a51, and they actually don't feel too far off, because I believe they made the iPhone a little lighter this year, and you can definitely tell, so they're, not the a51 is not like a super light, cheap feeling phone.

So, as you can see, you have the psychedelic disorder, shifting design on the a51, which I absolutely love. I think it looks really cool. It gets a lot of attention uh. When people see it, you have both the trendy camera setup on both of these guys, which look perfect. You have the quad camera set up on the a51 dual camera on the iPhone flash logo down here.

Apple logo right here. If you turn it to the side, you do have your power button on the iPhone your volume rockers on the a51 power button, turn it to the left, nothing on the a51, and you have your value, markers and mute vibration. Switch on the iPhone so down below the a51 keeps the headphone jack, which is something that I always appreciate. USB type c, you have your single fire speaker on the a51 stereo speakers on the iPhone all right when we turn both phones around here's, where the a51 kind of kills the iPhone with the display design uh. It just looks so much better right.

So we have a 6.1 inch. Super retina display hdr10 on the iPhone it is 1080p. Have the notch 460 for the PPI uh on the a51 is a 6.5 inch display so slightly bigger? It's a super AMOLED display, also 1080p 405 for the PPI and, as you can see, just the difference uh with the display uh having the little punch hole versus the notch, does make a big difference. So when you're gaming, or just watching videos and stuff like that uh, you will notice uh just how immersive the a51's display is having that little punch hole versus the iPhone's kind of notch. So it's something that I really like.

I think the Sancho is the next best thing to having a know: full screen, display and stuff like that uh but yeah. I absolutely love it. Furthermore, I think the colors on the super AMOLED display are super. Vibrant, now Apple made a perfect move this year, moving away from the IPS LCD uh to this OLED display, which is something that I really like as well, so they both look great but as far as displays, the a51 definitely comes out on top here, all right, so you're running android 10 with one UI 2.5 on the a51 iOS 14. Of course, on the 12.

You have the Apple A14 chip, the xenon 96 11 on the a51 Mali, g72 uh. You do get a micro SD support on the a51 128 gigs of uh storage and four gigs of ram uh on the iPhone. You do not get expandable storage and only 64 gigs and four gigs of ram. So you get much more storage, and you can expand that storage on the a51, which is definitely a know, huge benefit if you download a lot of games and stuff like that, all right for those of you who are going to ask let's do a little quick speed test. I just see for fun.

Of course, don't expect the a50 want to beat the new a14 chip, but let's see how far off it is Instagram iPhone got it. There temple run, so it's not too far off so, for you know, 267 versus you know, 8 30. , that's not too bad! Honestly! Now you really notice a difference more in video games and stuff like that. So I can see that was superfast on the iPhone. So you really notice in video games, but as far as like your normal applications, it's not going to be a big difference here, yeah, so not going to be a huge difference.

Let's go yahoo yeah, so not not a huge difference. It's only when you get to games and stuff like that, that's when you're going to see the big difference here. Let's talk about some additional features, so both of these phones have NFC for mobile payments, which is really great. You do not have any type of IP rating on the a51. You do on the iPhone ip68 uh.

Furthermore, you have stereo speakers on the iPhone and also the really cool thing about the a51 is that you have a fingerprint scanner under the glass here, so if I've never had a problem with a fingerprint scanner. Now is it the fastest that I've ever tried? No, but it's almost 100 accurate. If you do it right, so I've really never had an issue with the iPhone. You only get the option of face ID uh, which again very fast works great, but with the a51, you also get the option to have a face. Unlock so you have more than one way uh to unlock your phone uh on the a51, which is something that I really like.

So let me see if I can get it from behind the camera yeah. I can't yeah okay there. It is its kind of hard to get it from the camera, but you do have faced unlock uh on the a51 here. So that is something that I really, really like and, of course you have the headphone jack on the a51 as opposed to you know they got rid of the headphone jack a while ago on the iPhone. So let's talk about the camera, so this is where a lot of people will say.

This is where you see a just gigantic difference. I actually know the a51 has actually very good cameras as you're. Seeing from these steels, you have a 48 megapixel wide 12 megapixel ultra-wide and a 5 megapixel macro camera and 5 megapixel dev sensor. So it has two additional sensors that the iPhone does not the macro and depth sensor. You get 4k video, 30 fps and a 32 megapixel selfie camera that shoots in 1080p.

As you can see, the a51 takes some absolutely gorgeous photos. You get the very punchy Samsung colors on here. The photos are very detailed. The front-facing camera is perfect as well. I've had no issues with this phone dynamic range uh, just everything it usually just does a good job in any kind of lighting scenario.

Now is it going to be the iPhone in like night mode photos and stuff like that? No uh, but it is a very good camera. Considering the price going against the iPhone and checking out the iPhone's pictures uh, you have a dual camera setup, a 12 megapixel standard in a 12 megapixel, ultrawide, 4k, video, 2430 or 60fps, a 12 megapixel selfie, and you get 4k video on the front 2430 or 60fps, which is really awesome. You already know what you're getting with the iPhone you're, getting a top-notch camera up there with the pixel and galaxy phones uh, but yeah. This also takes some very good photos. Very good, detailed photos, perfect color as well.

You also get great dynamic range. Everything about these photos is perfect. Even in the toughest lighting situation, you can pull out a very good photo and the nighttime photos are perfect on the iPhone 12 as well, so you're getting excellent photos with the iPhone, and I think the iPhone still has some of the best video on any smartphone as well. So now, when you're gaming, the a51 does a perfect job uh for its price point as well, now won't be able to max out graphics like on the iPhone with ultra HD. It just goes to HDR and ultra frame rates, which is very good.

So and again you have that uh. You have that advantage with the display having just the small punch, hole versus you, know the notch and having things cut off on the display here. So it really comes down to what you want, but, as you can see, gaming experience is going to be really great. Uh on both I've never had an issue. I'm really gaming on the a51.

Here you can see graphics, look perfect, very nice, all right. Let's go ahead and test out the speakers, starting with the a51 max volume. So you can hear it's not so much as loudness as it is in the base presence on the iPhone. You just have a just way more bass presence on this iPhone, but it does have stereo uh speakers, but if you're in a loud environment you can hear both of these phones no problem. Let's talk about the battery situation on the iPhone.

You have a 2815 William battery. You also have fast charging 20 watts wireless charging as well with the a51. Furthermore, you have a 4 000 William battery 15 watt, fast charging and no wireless charging, so the a51 does a much better job at battery life. Furthermore, you get easily over eight hours of screen on time, with the iPhone you're gonna, be somewhere around six hours to six hours and 30 minutes of screen on time. So the iPhone can get you through a day no problem, but the a51 definitely having that extra two hours of screen on time could easily push you through a day and a half if you're a light user, so just excellent battery life on the a51.

Now with 5g on the iPhone, it could be significantly less uh. You might come, come down to five or maybe four hours. I've never had 5g in this area. So I'm not really sure. So what do you guys think about the a51 versus the iPhone 12 here be sure to let me know, I think the a51 actually has some advantages with the display: more storage, also a slightly better battery life and just being overall, a little cheaper.

You have more cameras to play with as well. So what do you guys think be sure to let me know, and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
