Samsung Galaxy A50 Review: Compelling Features and Value for RM1000

In recent years, Samsung spotlight in the mid-range phone category has long been stolen by devices from opp, Vito, honor, Huawei and Xiaomi, and last year they responded to the competition by introducing the galaxy a7 and a9 with triple and quad cameras, and this year Samsung is off to a really exciting year, with the all-new galaxy, a series, and what we have right here is the galaxy a50 that packs great hardware features for the price of 11.99 ringgit. But you know what guys I actually got this a lot cheaper over at TMT's online store at Shopee for only 1049 ringgits. So is the galaxy 850 worth all the high end? Are all the great hardware features inside worth its price? Let's find out in the galaxy 850 review. When I did my hands-on of the galaxy a50, I already had a very good impression of how this phone is going to perform. In my review and after two weeks of using device sure enough, I have to admit that it feels very much of a killer in its own category, starting with its build quality and chassis, the galaxy a50 doesn't feel cheap, even though it has a plastic view. What you also get is a very comfortable aesthetic, all thanks to the tablet back ages and if you think that bag is made of glass, Samsung has cleverly marketed it as Gnostic, which means plastic.

That looks and feels like glass, with its beautiful rainbow reflections when in contact with light Samsung expect the galaxy a50. Well, it comes with a speedy Enos, 9610 processors paired to 6 gigabytes of ram and 128. Gigs of storage expansion is also well taken care of with a triple slot symmetry. The 6.4 inch super AMOLED display is undoubtedly the best panel in its class with great outdoor visibility and viewing angles. And finally, an USB-C port with 50 watts, fast charging support and a 4 000mah battery completes the phone as a sweet deal.

There are things I don't like about the phone of course, such as the in-screen fingerprint reader, that works inconsistently like the one on the s10 plus, and there isn't a notification led. So you will need to pick up your phone every time to check for notifications, the galaxy a50 ships with Samsung's one UI software based on android pie. This is by far the best android skin that I've ever experienced, that is more intuitive and less gimmicky than Chinese phone launchers. So far, I haven't experienced any lack of stutters during the review period. Even gaming performance was pretty good, and I was able to experience playable frame rates with high graphics setting in PUBG mobile.

While I appreciate Samsung include Bixby voice to the software experience, Samsung pay is nowhere to be found, as the phone doesn't have NFC hardware. That's quite a shame, though, as it has always been a selling point on the series like last year's galaxy a7, the a50 features a triple camera setup. The main lens takes 25 megapixels, wide angle, steels at f 1.7. The ultra-wide angle lens takes 8 megapixel steels, with a 12 millimeter focal length, and the third lens is a 5, megapixel, f 2.2 depth sensor. Image.

Quality of the main lens has greatly improved from last year's galaxy a7, especially in low light where it is now able to capture sharper details with lesser noise. Colors can still get over saturated, but it is acceptable by mid-range phone camera standards. The ultra-wide angle lens may be able to take wider landscape photos, but it suffers from warping and soft focusing issues. Furthermore, the main camera unfortunately doesn't support 4k video recording, which by all means, isn't a dealbreaker for its class, but it is something that the phone's hardware has no issue supporting. The a50 takes good selfies with its 25 megapixel lens, and you can have fun with Samsung's AR emoji with its huge battery size.

The a50 has no issues keeping up one heavy workday on a single charge. I have also managed to score up to 2 days of use with 2.5 hours off screen on time, even though it doesn't have the fastest charging speed. No proprietary, USB cables or power bricks are required for fast charging the battery, since the phone doesn't have any aluminum or metal frame around it. The phone's network and GPS reception works flawlessly. The galaxy a50 is the mid-range phone that we all have been waiting from Samsung to take on the efforts of Chinese smartphones.

It's got excellent mid-range performance, decent cameras and reasonable compromises. That makes it a compelling device. Not unless you are onto notchless displays and pop-up selfie cameras. The galaxy 850 is simply a no-brainer for anyone who has 1000 ringgits to spend and for the first time ever it is better and priced cheaper than its Chinese competition. Folks, you already own a galaxy 850 or ting.

It still isn't the right time to own one. Tell me about it in the comments and be sure to give us a thumbs up. If you like this video subscribe to our channel and click on that bell, icon next to it, so that you don't miss any future uploads thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next one.
