Samsung Galaxy A22 - Rumors, Predictions, and What to Expect!

What's going on everyone, this is Kevin here and in this video we're going to be discussing some various rumors and predictions regarding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy a22. Now the a22 is going to be offered in two different variants: there's going to be a 4g model and also a 5g model, and essentially the a22 is going to be the successor to the a21 and the a21s which were launched in 2020. The device is also going to be a step above the a12, the a02 and the a02s. So essentially it's going to be a budget phone and if the galaxy h2 5g ends up actually being real, then that phone is going to be the most affordable, 5g phone offered by Samsung, which should definitely be very interesting. Now, if I had to guess that, imagine that we're only going to get one of those two phones making their way over to the US, I'm certainly hoping that we do end up getting the 5g variant. But then again we have had the a32 5g officially launched in the US.

So I'm not too sure if they would offer the a22 as a 5g phone just because it would be so similar to the a32 5g, but I guess we'll have to see now we don't know every detail about the a22, but the rumors are definitely pretty interesting. So that's why I wanted to make this video. The first thing is: it's looking like the a22 is gonna, be getting a water drop notch, which is a bit of a disappointment, especially since both the a21 and a21s came with hole punches for the front facing cameras. In addition to that, I'm also guessing that we probably won't really be seeing too much of an improvement when it comes to the display quality with the a22, considering that the a21 and a21s had lcds, which was actually a downgrade from the a20 from the year prior now. The reason why I don't think the a22 is going to be getting an AMOLED display is because the fingerprint sensor is actually supposed to be on the power button now, typically from what we've seen with some of Samsung's other recent budget and mid-range phones.

That feature AMOLED displays is that if the phone does have AMOLED, then they typically also include an in-display fingerprint sensor now, as far as the pricing goes with the a21 and then the a20 from the year prior, those two devices were pretty much in the 200 to 250 dollar range, which would make sense because technically the a32 5g in the US is one step above that, so this phone really would be filling in a void right now that Samsung doesn't have a current offering for, obviously they still are selling the a21, but I'd imagine that phone probably will be discontinued pretty soon from now. Now, beyond those details, there aren't really too many other exciting things about the galaxy a22. The phone is rumored to have a quad camera setup, which is also the same with the a21. Thankfully, the phone will be keeping its 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, based on these rumors, and the phone will also have the same display size at 6.5 inches. Now I would imagine that, with this phone, the actual cameras themselves will be upgraded from the a21, and supposedly it's going to have a 48, megapixel main camera, an 8 megapixel, ultra-wide angle, camera, a 2, megapixel depth, sensing camera and a 2 megapixel macro camera.

But again this is based off rumors that I read from tech radar. The phone is also rumored to have a 13 megapixel front-facing camera, which is being carried over from the previous generation. Now there are no rumors as to which processor the 4g variant of the phone would get, but at least for the 5g variant it is rumored to be getting the MediaTek density 700 processors. Now, as far as my thoughts and opinions regarding the a22 and these various rumors, I don't really see a lot here to be excited about. That being said, it doesn't look like this phone is gonna, be any sort of downgrade either.

In some ways there are some upgrades, but it's not going to be like a complete redesign or some sort of game-changing phone compared to the predecessor model. But then again, the a21 and a21s in general have been very popular phones. So I suppose, if these phones already are selling very well and have been a success with consumers, then I suppose there's not too much of a reason for Samsung to change. What's already working out very well for them now. I do feel like having that side mounted.

Fingerprint sensor is an upgrade compared to having one on the rear of the phone. I know from my experience with the galaxy a12, which I have right here. The side mounted fingerprint sensor has definitely been an upgrade compared to the one on the rear. That's more of a personal preference, though, that I have when it comes to fingerprint sensors. I just feel like it makes a lot of sense to have it mounted on the side, because I'm already going to be pressing that button to activate the display anyway, but in general I'm really curious to know what you think about these various rumors regarding the Samsung Galaxy a22.

Is this what you're hoping to hear or were you hoping for maybe more upgrades than what's been rumored? I'm definitely curious to know what you think. Let me know in the comment section below and also let me know if, based off this information you'd even be considering upgrading to this phone, but I hope you enjoyed the video. This is Kevin here again, I will be linking the article in the video description if you want to learn more about this topic, but I will see you in the next video.
