Samsung Galaxy A20 vs Moto G7 Play - Two Great Budget Phones Under $200!

Which is better the Samsung Galaxy age 20 or the Motor g7 play well in this video. We're going to find out. Follow me on Instagram at Kevin, breeze TV. Please join the Kevin breeze tech community on Facebook to chat about budget smartphones, ask questions and help others hi everyone. This is Kevin here coming at you with my comparison between the Samsung Galaxy 820 and the Moto G 7 play now. This version of the Samsung Galaxy a 20 is the Metro by T-Mobile version of the phone, and this is the Moto G 7 play with Alexa, which is a factory unlocked device available exclusively on Amazon.

Now you can also buy the Samsung Galaxy a 20 factory unlocked, and you can actually get that for around 170 dollars on Amazon right now. So if you want to do that, then take a look at the link in the video description and the Moto G 7 play is also available on Metro by T-Mobile and other carriers. But of course, like I mentioned, this one is from Amazon, and it's currently selling for $1709.99. Now, not only is it factory unlocked so that you can use it on a variety of different carriers, but it also works on all four major US carriers. So this phone works on AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint, and for the factory unlocked Samsung Galaxy a 20, it only works on GSM carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile.

So if you want the most carrier, compatibility possible in the US, and you're going to have to go with the Moto G 7 play, but it is interesting that both of these devices are available for around the same amount of money factory unlocked. So that should make this comparison especially interesting. Now the Samsung Galaxy 820 features a 6 point.4 inch display at 720p with the 19 and 1/2 by 9 aspect ratio and the Moto G 7 play has a smaller display at 5.7 inches at 720p, with the 19 by 9 aspect ratio. So you can see when holding these two phones up next to each other, how much smaller the display is on the Moto G seven play now. The actual form factor of the phone is smaller as well, but you can definitely see that the bezels are much larger on the g7 play like up top.

For example, we have a much smaller notch on the galaxy, a 20, it's a teardrop notch and then on the g7 play. We have a much wider notch so because of that, you won't be able to see the notification icons on the top left as much because there's not a lot of space there and same thing for the different device status indicators on the right. Now we do have a front-facing flash on the Motor g7 play, which we don't have the galaxy 820, but that's really the only benefit that comes along with having that wider notch at the top, then, on the bottom, both devices do feature a chin, but the chin on the Motor g7 play is noticeably larger, and it even has enough space for the Motorola word mark, so I definitely prefer the form factor of the a20 over the g7 play, and even the display itself is a lot brighter and clearer on the galaxy 820. Now the display isn't bad. On the Motor g7 play at all, I mean it looks good still, I just wish it at a smaller notch on the top and had a smaller chin on the bottom.

Now both devices feature eight megapixel front-facing cameras up on the top, so that's great to see and definitely make sure to check out my full review videos for both phones to see photo and video quality samples from those cameras. Now both devices feature 32 gigabytes of internal storage with micros card expansion. Neither of the two phones have wireless charging, but they both do have fingerprint sensors on the back. So we'll try those out right now, starting with the galaxy h1 II, so that was really quick to pull up the device with the fingerprint sensor, we'll try it now on the g7 play, and that was really quick as well, if not maybe even a little quicker than the a20, also on the back side with the camera modules. So there's a lot of differences here on the galaxy a20 we've a dual camera setup, and it is a 13 megapixel camera on the top and on the bottom.

It is a 5 megapixel camera now that bottom camera is a wide-angle camera. So you can take five megapixel wide-angle photos with the phone that actually look perfect and with the Moto G 7 play, we have a 13 megapixel main camera on the rear, and that's it now. Both devices do give you portrait mode, which is really cool, but there is no wide angle with a motor g7 play, which is a bit unfortunate to see the Samsung Galaxy 820 features, 3 gigabytes of RAM and the Moto G 7 play has 2 gigs of RAM the galaxy. A 20 has a Samsung Enos 7904 processor, and the Moto G 7 play is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632. Now it's definitely impressive, though this phone does have the 632, especially considering how cheap it is, because the 632 is a good processor and also because of that good processor you're able to take video on this phone at 4k at 30 frames per second another, very unexpected and uncommon thing to find from a device in this price range.

Now, if the Galaxy h1 II, video recording, does max out at 1080p, so keep that in mind. Now, with the galaxy a 20, we get a four thousand William hour internal battery and with the g7 Play, we have a three thousand William hour internal battery, so a much larger battery with the galaxy a 20. Now both devices run Android 9pi, but we do get a stock experience with the Motor g7 play, unlike the galaxy 820, which has Samsung's thick skin. Now. This is a similar experience to what you'll get on the galaxy s 10, for example, and you even get SIX fee if you swipe over, but I personally prefer stock Android over Samsung skin, but it really comes down to your personal preference.

The good news, though, is that with both phones, the software is very well optimized, so you are gonna, have a good experience overall with both devices. Now that we've gone over the specifications of these two phones. Let's now compare the hardware now I already talked a lot about the hardware in the front here, though, with both devices having 720p displays, with the display being much larger on the galaxy 820, with 6.4 inches versus 5.7 inches with the g7 clay. Now taking a look on the left side here, we just have the slot for the micros card in SIM card on both phones. Then, on the right side, both devices have the volume buttons and power button.

Then, on the top on the Samsung Galaxy, a 20, we just have the noise-cancelling microphone and on the Motor, G seven play with the noise-cancelling mic, and we have the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack. Then, on the bottom of these devices on the galaxy 820, we have the speaker grille. We have the microphone, we have the USB-C port for charging and data transfer, and we have the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack and on the Moto G 7 play with the microphone, and we have the speaker and on the Moto G 7 play with the microphone and with the USB-C port. Now I do wish that the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack on the Moto G 7 play was on the bottom of the device versus the top, but it is what it is now on the back side, we already talked about the cameras here and both phones do you have a flash? They also both have a fingerprint sensor and they both do a plastic on the back side. But there are some major differences here on the galaxy, a xx.

It has this really nice kind of glossy, looking plastic material. It does pick up a lot of fingerprints and grease for my fingers, but overall looks nice and premium and on the g7 play we have kind of this cheap, looking plastic material. Furthermore, it definitely does not feel high-end. Now, it's not like the material and the g7 play necessarily bothers me, but it's definitely not as good of a material as what you find at the galaxy h1 II. Let's now do a speed test comparison with these two phones.

So let's first start up the camera, so one two three go, and it looks like it was about a tie there with the two devices. Let's go to Google Chrome one two three go, and it looks like that was about a tie as well. Let's go to Yahoo one two three go: it looks like the a20 was a little quicker at pulling up Yahoo, let's go to engadget. com one two three go, and it looks like the Moto G seven play was quicker at pulling up and gadget. Let's do a scroll test in the second here or do it right now.

Let's do a scroll test, so nice and smooth on the galaxy, a 20 and very smooth, if not smoother, on the Moto G 7 play so seems like. Overall, you are going to be getting better performance on the Moto G 7 play despite it only having 2 gigabytes of RAM and the main reason for that is due to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632. Being the processor of this, it's definitely a better processor than what Samsung has on the 20. Now, let's pull up this article, one two three go: it was quicker to pull up on the Motor g7 play now. If I had to pick one device over.

These two I would definitely go with the Samsung Galaxy h20, and the reason for that is because it's really a better device in most ways as better cameras. It has more RAM and extra gigabyte of RAM. It has a thousand William hours more of battery capacity and has a larger display. That looks a lot better and is a smaller notch on the top and overall, a better screen to body ratio. So you're enough to decide on your own, which you prefer- and let me know about that in the comments section below, but it seems like the only advantage is with the Moto G 7 play- is that this phone is a better processor.

It can take video in 4k, and it has a front-facing flash, but that's really about it and also I. Guess if you go for the factory unlock versions of these phones, you are going to be getting all four carriers supported with the Moto G 7 play, and you don't get that with the Samsung Galaxy 820, but if you're interested in buying either of these two phones definitely take a look at the link in the video description. But this is Kevin here: I hope you enjoyed the video, give it a thumbs up. If you did, and I'll see you in the next one.
